Strider:
I personally think that the new splash page is better. Dark colours are never good for attracting visitors. The newer splash image matches your scheme of the rest of your site (apart from the forum, which is dark, as well), which is good. The navigation links should be a bit smaller on the splash image -- having them too large detracts from the title. In my opinion, your forum and main site styles should match (at least in colour-scheme).
Splash images are inconvenient, though. In a world where most leave your site (if they are going to leave your site) within 30 seconds, splash images are not practical.

Purin:
I recall that you had applied to SpiralPages for hosting, how did that work out? They were experiencing some server problems, so you application might not have gone through. I just thought I'd pass that information along.

For the rest of you search-engine-happy sods:
Search engines, such as Yahoo and Google now use the number of links that point to your site to rank your site. You can add as many dublicate meta-tag keywords as you like, it will not help you at all. It's generally looked upon as poor form, but it can't hurt.
If you did want to add a "huge paragraph of junk," then why not do it in a 1px-by-1px table, that way it would be invisible. Either that, or use absolute positioning with an image over your paragraph. Better yet, use absolute positioning with your paragraph so that it never appears on-screen (the principle would work in C++, I'm not sure about HTML): use negative coordinates.
