Splash pages

PHP, SSI, Frontpage includes, shared borders... there are so many ways to do it, I just don't see why people can't. So I don't like it when they don't o_O

Maybe they are lazy or have no idea how too ^^ (or both =P)

Perhaps... but then maybe they should learn XD. Oh yeah, I forgot frames, anyone can do frames XD. (LOL, maybe I should ask you to affiliate with TPP.)

Yes, Greg, we know what you mean, we're just thinking about the different ways that people could get around it...

Strider:

I personally think that the new splash page is better. Dark colours are never good for attracting visitors. The newer splash image matches your scheme of the rest of your site (apart from the forum, which is dark, as well), which is good. The navigation links should be a bit smaller on the splash image -- having them too large detracts from the title. In my opinion, your forum and main site styles should match (at least in colour-scheme).

Splash images are inconvenient, though. In a world where most leave your site (if they are going to leave your site) within 30 seconds, splash images are not practical.

Purin:

I recall that you had applied to SpiralPages for hosting, how did that work out? They were experiencing some server problems, so you application might not have gone through. I just thought I'd pass that information along.

For the rest of you search-engine-happy sods:

Search engines, such as Yahoo and Google now use the number of links that point to your site to rank your site. You can add as many dublicate meta-tag keywords as you like, it will not help you at all. It's generally looked upon as poor form, but it can't hurt.

If you did want to add a "huge paragraph of junk," then why not do it in a 1px-by-1px table, that way it would be invisible. Either that, or use absolute positioning with an image over your paragraph. Better yet, use absolute positioning with your paragraph so that it never appears on-screen (the principle would work in C++, I'm not sure about HTML): use negative coordinates.

How did you know of that? O_O;;
They denied me, but along that time someone offered hosting for the website. Thanks for the info though ^^

In other words, Purin, he's stalking you. XD Ask Greg for some tips to combat stalkers.

^^;; It doesn't matter. In your terms, I must be one too =P
Just that I remember info subconsciously, so it's not my fault XD

LOL, I stalk people too. Including Greggy XD. Hm, maybe I shouldn't call him Greggy.

I recalled it since I looked up the meaning of your username (it sounded Japanese to me). I think it means Jigglypuff. Anyway, I wouldn't take Jedi_Amara's word as Gospel: I don't trust those shady Digimon fans (queue mass hate mail -- hopefully the more intelligent of the lot will note the sarcasm).

Wait a moment, I may be a Digimon fan but I'm certainly not shady... *glares annoyedly*

I beg to differ on that. You ish very shady, being stalkerish and all. xD

You're all shady. Who can like a series where everything has "-mon" attached to the end. "Shadymon," anyone? Gee, I hope that's not the name of one of those Digi-critters. I know nothing about it, apart from all the "-mon" names, of course.

hopefully the more intelligent of the lot will note the sarcasm
^ The same applies above.

That's true. It means Jigglypuff or Pudding.

Fair enough. Jigglypuff's name is Pudding? I'd never have guessed that XD. And I'm assuming that I'm not intelligent then XD

There's this girl in Tokyo Mew Mew who's called Pudding/Purin, who's very hyperactive and loves to do stunts =P But I base my name off Jigglypuff =D

>( Don't diss da Digis! :P

And I personally prefer the darker colors, it's easier on my eyes. Black on white driving me absolutely batty.
