I wasn't sure where to stick this, so I'm hoping I put it in the right spot.

H'okay, about Starter Pokémon: Which type do you prefer/get most often? Do you always get the Water-type or the Fire-type? Or maybe the Grass-type?

I go for the Fire-types for the first two generations. But then I go for the Grass-types for the last two generations. What about all of you?

    Kanto - Charmander/Squirtle
    Johto - Cyndaquil/Totodile
    Hoenn - Torchic/Mudkip
    Sinnoh - ChimChar

I mostly go for fire type but sometimes the water type too. I like going with a full offensive and the fire type starters usually are quick and full offensive.

    R/B - Bulbasaur
    G/C/S - Cyndaquil
    S - Mudkip
    R - Torchic
    E - Treecko
    D - Piplup
    P - Turtwig
    Pl - Piplup

So I usually pick between the Grass and the Water type starters, usually because they are useful against early gym leaders.

I normally just go for the grass types because they always seem a safe bet against the first gym leader.

They also learn some pretty awesome move later on so that's a bonus.

I have once started with Cyndaquil, but that was only after I'd played the game through once already and knew what would happen.

Kanto - Equal mix, but probably mostly Charmander. One of the coolest pokemon, even if the first two gyms are impossible to get through with him.

Johto - Mostly Totodile, and almost never Chikorita

Hoenn - Only played twice. First with Torchic, second with Mudkip. I prefer Mudkip because of its useful conbination, and the fact that Blaziken looks completley stupid.

Sinnoh - Again, played once, picked Piplup, and I've recently started again with Turtwig.

Grass types is what I usually pick because I love them x3.
Water & Fire for me is very rare and I almost never choose them.

    Leaf green: Bulbasaur

    Emerald: Treecko

    Diamond: Turtwig

Pearl: Chimchar only so I have starter differences in the games.

Usually I get Fire, but then I started to change it :)

    Gold - Cyndaquil
    Fire Red - Charmander
    Emerald - Mudkip
Diamond - *planning to get Piplup* :)

    Kanto: Charmander
    Johto: Cyndaquil and occasionally Totodile
    Hoenn: Treeko
Sinnoh: Turtwig. <---Who doesn't like a turtle with a tree on its back?

I guess I get fire types a lot. Well, I picked Charmander and Cyndaquil in Kanto and Johto. In Hoenn I picked Treecko and in Sinnoh I got Piplup...I guess you could say it's assorted, but I do have more fire types.

On my first play through I pick who I like best, so I've got an assortment now. Bulbasaur, Totodile, Torchic, Turtwig

    I always go with fire
Mostly for the sole reason that Fire pokemon are my 2nd favorite pokemon
my first is dragon but they don't have any dragon starters :D
Anyways Usually pokemon has the 1st Gym Leader as Rock so I pick fire to get more of a challenge while playing and it makes me stronger as a player
thats how I look at it

Kanto: Squirtle (Squirtle and all it's forms are the best of all the starters in any gen.)
Johto: Cyndaquil (Because I want Quilava of course, I don't let it evolve to typhlosion.)
Hoenn: Mixed on this one. (It has the best grass starter, but I don't like grass types in general so I don't normally pick Treeko. I like Mudkip and Torchic equally.)
Sinnoh: Piplup (I don't like any of them. Period. Water types are the best imo though, so I pick piplup.)

My love for fire starters just amazes everyone, even myself!

I would stick with all the fire starters from Kanto to Sinnoh, with the exception of Mudkip and Treecko. :3

I would say I am assorted I don't really care. I make my choice by the type of the first gym.

It all depends on which gen your talking about
