Steam Holiday Sale 2014

Whelp, I've gotcha on Sonic Adventure 2. It's not Battle, but hey, it's the game.

And I thank you for that. :3 It's not Battle, the game I grew up with, but it's something that still reminds me of it. Kinda. :>

Oh,how I love Christmas,early or late. X3

As an aside, anyone interested in Avadon 2 or Consortium? Steam links added for lazy folk.

I was getting antsy waiting for things I'm interested in to go on sale on Steam, so I bought a bundle. I already have Avadon 2 (and the rest of their isometric RPG collections. I love Spiderweb software, omg) and Consortium's just not really my thing. :P

Eh. I got it. It looks like a blast. I just played an hour of it and I am enjoying it already.

Well fab! lol. Lemme know how it turns out, I'll probably grab it in the next sale. It was on my list, too, just not quite as high up. :)

Disappointing Holiday so far, especially with the recent implementation of the cross-region gift restriction. The Auction feature was also really horrible.

Now the gems, however, while this makes it easier to craft boosters, it greatly affects the prices on the Market. Inflating it hard.

Unfortunately it looks like the Daily Deal for it has ended. I got it for $20, but it's back up to $26.99. In an honest recommendation, I would still pay that, but I prefer getting a cheap deal. :P

It's a great title and so far so good. It's a bit tricky to get used to, but once you figure out the mechanics, it's easy to avoid risky fights and finish combat with less damage that you'd think. :D

Goddammit Steam y u make sales when I don't have paycheck yet... I already have 6 dead wallets thanks to you.

I don't have much wanted games atm, might change once I actually delve into Steam itself once more, last time I did that my wallet went rip over and over again :(
Also these sales make me go generous for some reason, last time I went on a spree and gave people AoE II xD

So I want to give a HUGE shoutout to ShadowE because this guy just sent me Counter Strike: GO as a gift on Steam tonight. He crashed my game doing it, but what a nice surprise.

I'll be returning the favor, but thank you, Shadow. That was such a nice little surprise when my game crashed. :P

You got a piece of the ShadowE curse along the road :P

Almost missed out on Saint's Row IV because Steam neglected to email me about it. >:(
What the hell, Steam, it's only been on my wishlist forever.

Also picked up Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines along with that, as well as the Bit.Trip bundle and They Breathe a couple days ago. So far, that's almost $20 spent on myself this close to Christmas, I should really finish shopping for others first.

Only thing I've picked up so far is Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Haven't gotten to start on it yet...I'm thinking it's like Brothers and is something I'm going to want to experience in a minimum number of play sessions for the maximum emotional impact (I played through the entirety of Brothers in one sitting), so I'm waiting until after Christmas when I have a few hours to dedicate to playing through it.

I wish Shovel Knight would go on sale. I want to try it out but I'm not paying $15 for it.

I thought about it, but I'm not a big fan of frustratingly hard trial and error side scrollers, and based on what I've heard and seen that's exactly what Spelunky is.

Seconding the thing on Spelunky. Just don't play it with friends or your S/O. Boyfriend and I just threw rocks at each other until we died, we never actually left the caves, lol. It was great solo, though.

Juno is an enabler. Don't ask her for opinions on games. :P
After asking her, I wound up making my first personal purchase this sale with the entirety of The Walking Dead telltale series for $13.72. Could've gotten it cheaper on GMG a few months ago, but I finally acquired it, so I'm pretty happy.
Everything else from the top of my wishlist has been pretty much cleared out, so now it's down to a waiting game. Hoping to see Long Live the Queen and Among The Sleep go lower, but I kinda doubt it.
Might still grab Silent Hill: Homecoming to replace my 360 copy - it's $5 on nuuvem right now, and I could easily get that back selling the console copy.

Oh, and if there's anyone else waiting on Shovel Knight - don't bother. Devs said it won't be seeing a price cut this holiday sale, which is unfortunate.
I'm sure it's well worth the $15, I just don't have that to blow on one game right now. =p

While I have not considered anything to buy at the Steam Holiday sale this year, I have looked at a few deals. By the way, those curious about my wishlist, here is is: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198011628012/wishlist/

I feel really awful calling this out, but I'm confused as to why you have a few free to play games listed?
I dunno if they became f2p after you added them or if you just didn't notice -- I almost did the same thing with Path of Exile once, lol.

Nah, Spelunky isn't I Wanna Be The Guy or Eryi's Action. There's no Trial and Error involved, and the game doesn't really go out of its way to kill you. It's hard, but justifiably so, and it's the type of game that keeps you on your feet in terms of thinking. Permadeath is there, sure, but I think it's one of the greatest things about the game due to its dynamic nature. It's also great at utilizing decision making (in terms of what to buy, what items to take, whether you should do something or not- there are a lot of factors that make this game particularly smart in this area).

It's really great fun. If you enjoy solid Platformers or games that present you with several means of play and overall smart game design, you'll enjoy this title. Heck, I almost feel like writing a formal review to make my case for the game.

Oh, trust me, if Juno didn't, I most certainly would have pushed the idea. I actually held off on suggesting TWD since I automatically assume people know what they're like and how good they are- which I shouldn't. But I highly recommend those games, even if, like me, you don't follow the television series (since you really don't need to).

Oh, and if you find yourself deciding between Among the Sleep and Long Live the Queen, I definitely say go with the latter. That game is good fun.

I actually held off on getting the games because I follow the TV series so closely. I was kinda worried it wouldn't do the series 'justice' so I waited until there was a (competent) playthrough on youtube, and for Juno's input. I do appreciate the additional input, though. :3

And thank you! :) I kinda figured on going for LLtQ first if it came down to it. It's half the price of ATS, and most of the reviews for ATS say it's just too short to justify the price tag. LLtQ seems like it would be the better 'bang for your buck', like it'd last a good while longer. But, it's still pretty hard to compare two radically different genres like that, so here's hoping I can grab both!

Machomuu was nice enough to give me 3 games: Wasteland, Sid Meier's Pirates, and X-COM: Enemy Unknown! I wish I could return the favor, maybe some time down the road. I will be using them for Let's Plays since I haven't played them (I played Pirates on Xbox a long time ago)! Adding Spelunky to the wish list lol!

I got The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky just 10 minutes before it's sale ended, all thanks to my cat who woke me up this morning xD

and then the realisation I don't even have 90% of you on steam :x
