    Hello how are you? I used to frequent these forums back in the day, about 10 years ago actually... around the phenomenon of BeachBoy. Good to see you guys are still kicking. Long story short, I bought my girlfriend a 2DS for Christmas and her sister bought her Pokemon Y. She didn't play Pokemon too much as a kid so she didn't really get into it - barely even picked up the DS. So here I am, having effectively hi-jacked the video game console :) I've already beat the Pokemon League and I'm working on filling up my Pokedex right now. I also think the return of the Pokeradar for shiny hunting is pretty neat so I'm gonna be getting back into that. Other than that though I don't really know what to do, what's fun after you beat the elite four?

    Wow, you were here ten years ago? Wow, compared to that, I'm still a toddler here. Good to see an old face returning! How was PC back in the day?

    It's a shame you failed getting your girlfriend into Pokémon. You should've pushed harder. But hey, on the positive side you get all the fun she misses out.
    What's there to do? There's so much to do! You can hunt for shinies, breed for good moves and stats, train your Pokémon to level 100, actually EV train them (I never get around doing that before the post-game), try filling your Dex or challenge other people for battles. I agree the main story is the best part of the games, but there's a world of possibilities for things to do. ;)

    Hey man nice to meet ya :) Yeah I didn't really understand her disinterest in the game. She thought it was neat and all but that's about it… meanwhile I would be watching over her shoulder drooling. She never played Pokemon Red or Blue so I don't think she understood the difference - she had nothing to compare it to. I was literally awestruck when I first saw the battles, and the over-head sprites or whatever they are. Plus changing your appearance? Bravo, Pokemon.

    Anyway that's quite the list of things to do, thank you! I never really get around to EV training at all to be completely honest, but maybe I'll give it a go this time. The Super Training feature looks pretty cool… does it keep track of my EVs for me? That would be amazing. I've heard it's not the best route to go (compared to traditional EV grinding) but it's always good to try something new. I think I'm going to work on getting my main party to level 100 and possibly EV train them if I don't get bored by then!

    That's pretty sweet. I joined originally in 2006 but it took me until 2011 to finally decide to make a new account and, you know, actually start posting haha. Have heard some wonderful things of BeachBoy and we spoke a few times whenever he actually popped in to check up on the forum.

    ...welcome back too, Jim! Almost got a little sidetracked there. x'D;;; Too bad your girlfriend never got into Pokémon but at least it gives you more space to play yourself, though it would've also been fun to play with someone. But alas, we have forums to help out with that too.

    Character customization was definitely great! Bummed out they didn't include that in ORAS, imo it should've become a staple feature so hopefully it'll be around in Sun and Moon when those come out. ;(

    That aside, will try not to write an essay here. Hope you'll be around actively once again this time, would be great to have you!

    Welcome back to the forums, oldie! Beachy was bae <3 I bet you were too. Ok I have no idea who you used to be, but that doesn't matter. What matter is that you're back into pokémon now and came back to PC!

    Tbh when you've beaten the Elite Four and finished your pokédex and battled until your buttonfingers have fallen off, all that remains is roleplaying pokémon on the forums instead. Yep, true story. I'm totally not saying this just to try and get more members to our cozy roleplay facilities on PokéCommunity. Nope.

    See you around~ (;

    Thanks, Sheep! Yeah, it's easy to get lost in nostalgia, especially if you've been around so long. I see so many familiar usernames :) and yes, gf was more of a Digimon kid growing up... so yeah... that's a thing we're working on >_>

    Anyway for real though theres no character-customization in ORAS? Super bummed about that as well :( I can't see them not putting it in Sun/Moon, everyone loves it - and those who don't aren't forced to use it. Maybe they could make the clothes a little cheaper though, eh ;)

    Thanks :) I'm not really an RPer but I'll pop by and try it out at some point. I love reading them just not so good at writing them. I used to frequent the Graphic and Design a lot actually, but I don't have PS anymore :(
