What did you think about the story line of DPPt? Was it too long, too short, too boring? Or was the length just right? Did it have enough action, enough battles? Was it too linear?

    What are your thoughts?

It wasn't actually long, it was definitely too easy for me. Team Galactic battles were too monotonous though. I loved the part with Giratina in Platinum.

I found the story very long, probably to the point none of my playthroughs were ever finished. There were a lot of tough battles, but less linearity meaning I had to use HMs very often and that was not fun.

I think DPPt were definitely more difficult, if not a little irksome in the way the map was explored. The storyline itself I think was decently paced but I felt like there was too much back-and-forth traveling which slowed things down. Mt. Coronet is a nightmare too, honestly. I hope that in their inevitable remakes that they work on improving that part, as they did with the water routes in ORAS with quirks like faster surfing with Sharpedo and shorter routes in general.

Story was better in Platnium, I enjoyed it for what it was. I felt I could explore quite a bit without the story forcing me around unlike some generations did :)

I honestly didn't mind the storyline, even that of Diamond / Pearl. I know it gets a lot of flak for being too slow etc., but Cyrus is easily the most edgy villainous team leader there is, which made for a scintillating experience when I was younger. The length was fine; it wasn't too short like RSE, nor too long like XY.

Platinum was still better though because of the Distortion World arc and the appearance of Charon, which gave more depth to Team Galactic and made Cyrus even edgier than he already was.

I think you are right. There is literally too many times you have to travel back to different areas on the map, and also needing a lot of HMs to get around Mt. Coronet makes the gameplay really long and time-consuming.
