Basically to live in Japan...you're pretty much screwed unless you have strong ties there.

Usually what you have to do is get a workers or students visa. These let you live and work in Japan for a certain amount of time. After that you get it renewed or you have to leave. You can only get the workers visa renewed once and that only last for one year. A student visa can be renewed five times with each renewal lasting one year.

One you're out of school and have used up all five renewals, you either go home or send an application of citizenship to the Japanese government. Usually they want you to have a benefactor or someone that can put anywhere from 1K to 10K (preferably 10K) in the bank. This is sorta like someone vouching for you saying that you can live on your own and won't be needing welfare....because the Japanese hate giving it to a non-Japanese inside their country. That's what most people do...in most cases it doesn't work because you need to fluent to even go to a Japanese school.

The other way is...get into the country illegally and just work until you have enough money to buy a citizenship, because with enough money you can buy anything in Japan. Of course, chances are you'll get your butt thrown out of the country and sued by the Japanese office of immigration for working without a visa or anything. But on rare cases they do let people stay.

That's about it.

Lol, well put. That's why I just obsess over the country/language rather than dream of moving there, which will never happen.

The glory of making money...... :P I wouldn't do it illegally. That's not fun anymore. =[ Yet it's entertaining watching other people do it....

I'd rather just visit Japan...but even then you have to get a visitors visa and a whole bunch of other things done...plus you need money for the actual trip. XD

Technically, Simon, yes. :o And I don't even want much at the moment. Just some manga. Or a new book. X_x

Just save up your money ...*finally has enough to buy manga again*

Save up _what_ money, Jorge? ._.; Any pocket money I get is immediately seized by my nicotine-addicted parents. >>

Anime DVDs? I prefer to download the stuff, much easier~

Yeah, you're right. I just don't download anime much because of bittorent and such... my parents don't like me using that type of stuff cause I might catch a virus or something from it...
So one of my internet friends sends me episodes once in a while via MSN. ^^;

But I like buying anime DVDs... it makes me look like I have a huge DVD collection. =D

Hide it then, what I use to do...and still have to do sometimes because of people who drink here is just put some money in my shoes...oddly enough, it's the one place no one ever checks.
