What I'm trying to ask is, do you use and actively keep up with "Modern Slang?". One example of this would be the word "sick", which meant that you bore a sickness, until recently. I myself, tend to use modern slang in everyday conversation irl, and I don't see shame in it.

I do occasionally... Not very often though.... It just sounds weird coming out of MY mouth. If that makes any sense.

Nah, I choose not to, just because I find it kind of unoriginal. I mean, everyone uses it.

Retro slang, on the other hand, is totally rad. I use it all the time, so my friends are at least used to it by now.

I love using slang. XD; I actually talk quite informally in real life, but I really cut down on the slang when online. It doesn't translate well online, you know? I only really use slang as a joke, though, haha.

Yeah, what Saryka said. It's not cool to say "ayy guh, lemme get dat facebook" online as it is irl. :P

Now that I've actually sat and thought about it, yeah I use modern slang all the time. I tend to say "dude" the most, but I know I also have a tendency to say things like "sick", "whad up", "sweet", "nasty", etc. Of course I never say these things online because like Saryka said, it doesn't work out too well. :D

Of course I use modern slang everywhere. It's like, something that's been with me since I was uhh... 12 or sumthin, yo. Usually "dude" is the word I say all the time, even on the internet.

I've never been a fan of slang. It sounds pointless to me, plus most of the time it makes absolutely no sense, with the craze ranging from words used for something completely unrelated to their meaning, to words that don't even exist being used. Another thing I find frustrating, is how in some online communities (I'm looking at you, facebook >_<), people are actually expected not just to use slang all the time, but to also kill the language by replacing every other word with an abbreviation, number or spelling mistake made to "save typing time". Many a time have I tried to put some sense into them, but it always results in them blocking me, and maintaining those terrible habits.
