And one piece is the crappiest piece of crap ever made. Seriously, how do people even like these pieces of ****? And did I mention SAO sucked?

...well, if you haven't caught on, I don't mean any of the above. I love One Piece to death. Think SAO is a decent show (wrote it just to tease you, virgilio; if you're here that is :p) and FT is an enjoyable series as long as you switch your brain off. But that's not the point.

Does hearing bad stuff about your fave anime offend you? Do you feel compelled to defend your series from these so called haters? What are your views on some anime that skyrocket to popularity in a short time and become mainstream - SAO and AoT? Do you feel like some of these series get bashed on just because they're popular? Have you ever hopped on the bandwagon and been guilty of bashing a series just because you felt like siding with popular opinion?

I couldn't care less what other people think of what I enjoy anymore. I used to care, and that caused me to stop liking the things that I liked before (such as Naruto). But in recent years I learned that well, why should I care? I like it and if they don't like it then that's their problem. They're allowed to have their opinions and I'm allowed to have mine. If they're going to dislike me for it or continue to bash on said opinion then they're not worth really knowing anyways.

That's simply my take on it nowadays haha.

To be honest, if someone has such an opinionated and negative view on something (often, just because other people enjoy it) it turns me off them rather than the anime.

I don't tend to watch anime because they are masterpieces anyway, I watch them for enjoyment - so from that point of view it's pretty hard to have a 'bad' anime (especially the ones you mentioned, which may not be perfect but have many redeeming features).

Thank god you didn't say anything about AoT otherwise I would of flown to wherever you lived and slapped you silly till your face was as big as a Titan's.

I don't really care to be honest, and never have either. I've heard people say Detective Conan was boring, but that didn't put me off reading/watching anymore chapters/episodes. I'm not really an avid anime watcher to be honest anyway aha, I only really got back into it after checking out Attack on Titan and loving it after the first episode.

I've heard a lot of bad things from people in regards to anime and tv shows in general. To be honest, I just ignore. I don't engage in a fandom war just to prove that the show I like is so much better than the show they like. It's their opinion, and with that I must respect their thoughts and just move on. :P

Like Swifty said, I watch anime for the sake of enjoyment.

@Scyke - Oh AoT is a pile of turd. It stinks and sucks.

Lmfao though seriously, I do agree with ya all. I do the same. Most of the time the ones that bash a particular series just do it for the lulz. So I ignore them. If I do, though, find someone who I think can actually carry out peaceful discussion while still pointing out legitimate flaws in a series, I try to present my POV forward. Even in 80% of these cases though the opposing party tends to have a pre-determined image of that respective anime so my words end up falling on deaf ears anyway haha. But yeah, I ignore the blatant trolls but attempt to provide my perspective on a specific aspect of a series if I think the other guy is serious about having a civil discussion.

Depends on how it's conveyed. I'm a firm believer that voicing hatred serves no purpose other than to start a fight, but there are a lot of flaws in a lot of things that could be open for discussion. Nothing is perfect, and the fate of the entire conversation rests on how that is pointed out.

But on the other hand I don't like hearing opinions at all because it's difficult to respect some of them. Ideally I'd consume my media alone with nobody knowing about it, but that's no fun.

I agree with the title of the thread.

    Also, some more crappy anime;
    -Steins;Gate
    -Shingeki no Kyojin
    -Mushishi
    -Kara no Kyoukai
    -Hellsing Ultimate
    -AnoHana
    -Angel Beats!
    -Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
    -Eve no Jikan

Honestly, it makes me kind of feel bad when others make negative comments toward the shows I watch, because, to me, it feels like they're insulting me for watching those shows (even though they aren't most of the time). xD" Thankfully, I tend to get over them pretty quickly and move on with my daily life.

Trolls and noobs exist everywhere... Best to not care about them.
I do read some criticisms on anime/games I really like and can I only laugh at seriously trolling reviews.
If there's objective criticism I praise the reviewer for seeing things I couldn't because I liked the anime so much I did not mind them.
All together it's best not to feed the trolls =)

I'll admit that the "2" rating on Minitokyo for Hakuouki makes me cringe a bit every time I see it (the anime might not be the best, specially compared to the game, but it doesn't deserve a 2), I try not to think too much about it. I enjoy what I enjoy and if other people hate it, too bad, because for every person that hates it, there is one that loves it and whom you can share your joy with. (Okay, maybe not, but you get my point.)

I'm very certain series get bashed on just because they get a huge fanbase in a short amount of time and people can't cope with how the lesser-known high quality anime get pushed further in the corner to gather dust. I've been watching a few anime which got popular really fast (some due to the wrong reasons, like the Free!-war of angry KyoAni fans) and I find that I enjoy the series, but I can't see myself jumping into the fanbase which floods (literally) my tumblr dashboard every day).

When spoken to, however, I am the first to defend the series/characters that I DO love, albeit in an as civilised as possible manner and with well-thought out, solid replies based on canon facts if necessary. Calling names never helped anything, it only resulted in fanbases getting a bad name/reputation for outright insulting people for saying their favourite thing wasn't their piece of cake. Fan/Flame wars are stupid and pointless.

I forgot to say in my previous post but I like when people dislike shows I enjoy. It means they're probably pretty good.

I'll watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it. Don't get me wrong though I more often than not do some research into an anime I end up finding interesting before I start watching it regularly so I will actually know what is going on in the end.

    2000th post yay.
