Jack Spark
Route 103
Fort Bravo

Jack polished his arm, as he waited for further commands. He looked out, seeing the Pokemon fall one by one. A lot of them were just illusions, but there were quite some Pokemon as well. Jack just sighed, wondering why the Pokemon would just rush at them like that, even after the carnage at Fortree City. There was something terribly wrong about all this...

Jack wandered over to the General's side. He saw him put Lt. Mikkelson's tags in his pocket, and Jack closed his eyes, realizing that Mikkelson had lost his life out in the battle. After Jack saved his life over in Fortree... he felt sad that he hadn't been able to live long after that. But, this was war, there were going to be casualties. Jack had already been through all this crap once, he was ready to face it again. He waited for the General's command, as a single car approached the fort. A young Corporal got out, and told them about the condition over at Mauville. Unfortunately... he was 4 hours late.

"Son of a... we need to get outta here!" Jack cried, picking up a gun. Even the General was quick on his toes, and the human forces began to move out.

"Staff Sergeant Spark, LT Vargas, Private Celston, you're with me. Colonel Leroux, once you're better, get back with us from the back of the army." The General said.

"Hell yeah..." Jack muttered as he got on the AFV. The trip was short, he concentrated on battle tactics and what his plan of action once he got to Mauville. The only thing that crossed his mind was, 'DESTROY ALL POKEMON!' He grinned, finally some action.

--------------------

Jack Spark
Mauville City
In the middle of the Battle

He jumped out of the AFV, and looked at all the carnage around him. The pokemon had ended up invading and attacking the city quite well, good plan by that fire monkey, Jack thought. He saw Cain brutally end a Flareon's life, but then immediately snapped back to the fight at hand, he needed to defend the city too. He saw a Zoroark run past him, as Jack grabbed him by his fur.

"GOING SOMEWHERE?!" He yelled in his face as he brutally smacked him with his metal arm. The Zoroark tried to resist, scratching at his arm, but to no avail. Blood started to pour out from it's face, and it soon slumped in his hands. Jack threw the body away, ready to take on more Pokemon.

He could see a huge Golem race past as it crushed the head of a soldier. Jack ran towards him, and jumped onto his back, as the Golem tried to crush him. Jack knew he had to react fast, or else he could be crushed into a pancake.

"Time to see how effective this laser is..." He thought, as he pressed a button on his arm. A red beam pierced through the Rock Pokemon's skull, making a small hole. The Golem's face was twisted in pain, and he fell down on the ground with a thud.

Jack got up with a grin, raising his arms, yelling, "FEAR ME, B****ES!" right before he was knocked to the ground from behind.

Khufu Sphynx
Mauville City
Battle

Khufu approached the bulk of the Pokemon forces, after straying to the right. For a brief second, he caught his breath as Pokemon charged past him. Then he turned to join the fight, and --

"Incoming humans from the south! Show them the meaning of pain!" Herodes had spotted a human force, and Khufu quickly turned to fight it instead of the city's small guard. It was rather annoying to have to drop all his plans, and he was half-expecting another group of humans to arrive, from the north, or the west, or --

Bullets flew threw the air, above Khufu enough to be harmless, but low enough to remind him to get low again. He was charging into a heavy-fire zone, but there were plenty of Pokemon in the area as well, and the two sides looked about even for a while. Then things got nasty. A group of humans pinched a few Pokemon away from the rest of the force, and in just seconds they had killed the half-dozen Pokemon. Another human killed a Zoroark and then burned a hole through a Golem's head. The human wasn't bad, but he gloated over his kill. Khufu took the chance and attacked him from behind, knocking him to the ground.

"Not bad, but you made one mistake. Never gloat like that after a kill." To prevent the human from escaping, or worse, fighting back, Khufu pinned him to the ground with all four legs. Then Khufu unleashed a mild Toxic attack on him, exhaling in his face. It wasn't strong enough to kill him, but it smelled nasty, so bad that even Khufu had to refrain from breathing. He looked down at the human's face, and suddenly something clicked. "I know you. Jack Spark, no? The Human leader in the old war? I'm pleased to finally meet you face-to-face." His mocking tone would probably provoke Spark into trying to attack him, but his legs weren't budging. Actually, it's embarrassing not to have recognised his bio-arm until now. We'll just leave out those details, he thought. Suddenly he got the feeling that his face had showed his embarrassment, and to cover it up, he looked up at the fight surrounding them and just hoped Spark hadn't noticed anything.

(WTF is up with everyone killing Zoroarks..? Do you hate Lydia that much? lol)

Papercut Isaac Bannister
Mauville City
"Heat of Battle"

The Jolteon heard Herodes' voice from somewhere - difficult to tell when the screams from Humans and Pokemon together were cracking all around.
Papercut looked forward to the incoming humans, an AFV rolling down the street. Just then, chaos ensued, bullets firing everywhere, Pokemon charging againist the humans and vice versa.
It was majestic; all of Papercut's copies of himself moved towards the human forces as humans and Pokemon collided in the middle of the street. Many Pokemon were falling all around him, but he wouldn't pay attention. As the cold wind hit the Jolteon's face, he could feel the cold ice slightly melting under his feet from the heat of his charged body.
One of Papercut's clones collided with a human holding a machine gun.

"Looks like some heavy weaponry needs some heavy beating"

The image of the Jolteon vanished at it got hit by the shower of the bullets; the next moment, Papercut charged againist the unsuspecting human at full speed, his clones moving towards the same direction.
From a closer inspection, the Jolteon noticed the human's machine gun was actually implemented into his arm. He also noticed that he was a redneck, way bigger than him, but he didn't hold back. With a mac breaking frequency, his roar pierced the area and he let loose of a Thunder when he got closer to the startled human - but the jolt missed him as he moved quickly to the right.
The redneck pulled some kind of trigger and the inevitable shower of bullets rained the area in a wide range and at great speed, targetting the Jolteon's clones.

Papercut bared his fangs in reaction to his thunder's failure to meet its target. He instanly vanished, his clones disappearing right before the bullets reached his real self - and his place took a copy of the nearest human soldier - a perfect Substitute.
And the Jolteon, next to the killed substitute, extended his sharpened, blade-like needles and launched them againist the human's chest. The machine-gun human backed off and let his weaponized arm fall in the ground. Papercut grabbed his chance; he reached his opponent easily with his incredible speed, pounding him in the chest with his front paws, discharging some of the electricity he had stored in his fur.
Although shocked and half-paralyzed from Papercut's electricity, the big human managed to knock the fierce Pokemon off him before falling backwards.
Papercut landed on the cold snow, but he didn't seem to mind the fall, he rolled over and stood on his feet in a matter of milliseconds.
Despite the blood, the screams and everything in the scenery, the Jolteon cracked a playful, charming smile at his opponent who was now staring at the sky.

"Ha! How did that floor taste?!"

The Jolteon was about to finish him off when a huge explosion nearby made him cower as the sound wave hit his sensitive ears. He looked around the battlefield - a huge AFV was crossing the streets, heading towards him, or so it seemed.
Papercut's ears folded back and his black eyes extended in awe of the great machine. His face was priceless and it would be funny if he wasn't in a battlefield with hundreds of dying souls.

"I'm too important to be squishied by some chunk of metal"

He muttered and turned around, dashed through the field unleashing negative ions in his path. The Sharpie ran towards a vulnerable group of human soldiers confronting some heavy Pokemon.
Headbutting the first one, he let go of more negative ions - in the form of electricity this time - into his body.
The effect of his move was instant and beautiful; the discharged electricity travelled from human to human, a chain lightning, bringing death or paralysis.
And without any mercy, he finished off the survivors of the group, with some help from the heavy Pokemon the humans were fighting just a second ago.
Isaac's kind heart was left behind in the PE base along with all his belongings.

Private Lewis Celston
Route 103, Second Fort
Heading out

"Y-yessir!" Lewis said. He followed the others to the vehicle and climbed in. He adjusted his rifle and reloaded. He checked all the parts and pieces, making sure they were in working order. As they rode along, he remained silent, still trying to digest what had happened. Slightly before they arrived, he got out of the AFV. He ran up to a hill overlooking Mauville. Once at the top, he lay himself on the ground and took aim. He targeted a Houndoom, and fired a single bullet, catching him just under his horns. He then shifted his aim to another pokemon, firing twice, Once hitting the Zangoose in the arm to stop it from slicing a human, and once in the head, removing it from it's shoulders. Lewis gurgled a bit and paled, but he began looking for another target. There was so much blood, so much death. He wanted to just vomit. He began heaving a little, even as he took down another target, this one an Ursaring. He stopped firing and put his head on the ground. This was too unreal. This was a nightmare. He groaned quietly as his insides clenched up. Before he had been under the effects of adrenaline, as he had been trying to stay alive. But right now, he was safe on the hill. The radio General Trace had given him was the only thing that made a sound. Wait a minute... He grabbed it and switched it on.

"Sir... This is Private Celston... The Sniper you recruited this morning. Is there anyone in particular I should be gunning for? Or should I just do what I've been doing?" Lewis said over the radio, not even sure who he was calling. He aimed and fired, taking out a fourth pokemon soldier.

Mark Vargas
Tower Helipad

Snow gently fluttered down onto the battlefield, covering blood stains and bodies. It covered everything like a white canvas to restart the city on. Mark aimed down his sights and shot down Jolteon (Not papercut). The snow around it turned red, only to be returned to white as the snow started to fall faster. It turned into a whiteout for, at least a minute, then turned back to gentle snowfall. Mark aimed down his scope to see Khufu pinning to someone to the ground. Mark set up the perfect headshot, then, almost pulled the trigger. He tapped his radio button and said, "You want me to shoot the b**ch off you, or do you want to beat the sh!t out of him?" He kept the shot lined up.

Sergeant Jackson Renault
Mauville City
Bike Shop

Jackson ducked under from the window on the second floor of the Bike Shop, which is where he and his crew were pinned down. A soldier aimed out of the window and shot at some Pokemon. Jackson felt the building shake, which was a bad sign.

" Men, we gotta get out of here," Jackson ordered, opening the door to the stairwell. The other Soldiers in the building began rushing down stairs. After they had all left the top floor, Jackson headed down the stairs and out of the building. as Jackson looked back at the building, A large rock from an Onix was thrown into the shop. Jackson pointed to the Onix and shouted,

" Boys, Onix at eleven o'clock!"

Jackson sprinted into the foilage, hiding behind the trunk of a large tree. The Onix swung its tail at his crew, sending some of them flying.

" Private Anderson," Jackson called,

" Use your SMAW on that Onix!"

Private Anderson honed in on the Onix, and fired a rocket at the large rock Pokemon. The rocket hit the Onix in the head, causing the enormous carcass to fall to the earth with a thundering boom. Jackson signaled for his men towards the landing personnel carriers and ordered,

" Corporal Leblanc, take your squad over to the landing carriers. Smith, you and your guys follow me!"

Jackson ran towards an apartment building, and hid behind there from the main Pokemon forces. Jackson peeked around the edge of the building and saw the majority of the Pokemon. Jackson signalled his troops to follow him, and they did so. Jackson had gotten halfway across the road when a airborne Salamence began to hone in on him.

" F***, it is not my day," Jackson muttered. Jackson fired three bullets at the Salamence, which all missed.

" Soldiers, disperse and find cover," Jackson swiftly ordered, leaping through the front door of a large building. Jackson looked around to see three fellow soldiers in the building. Jackson looked out the door and saw the Salamence. Jackson precisely aimed and fired seven rounds, all of them hitting the Salamence but causing any major damage.

Cain Trace, General
Mauville City

Cain rammed into a particularly stunned Torchic. The Torchic fell, off balance, possibly a broken neck, and Cain aimed his assault rifle and fired. A Psyduck and a Graveler were now on either side of him. Cain moved quickly out of the way to avoid the incoming rocks from the Graveler's rock throw, and then again to avoid an incoming water gun. Unfortunately, the water gun was too fast, and Cain was hit on his side. He cursed loudly as he unloaded into the Graveler. Many of the bullets bounced off him, but just enough pierced his skin. As he was charging at Cain, who stood his ground, the Graveler fell before his feet. Cain immediately went for the Psyduck, who tried to prepare his attack. Unfortunately, Cain took out his katana, and sliced at his head, never giving him a chance. The body of the headless Psyduck took a moment longer to fall than his head. The thing about smaller Pokemon is, while they do have the ability to throw and spew energy and fireballs, water blasts and electricity, they bodies are still small, and somewhat fragile. Cain's sword cuts threw most of their flesh like tissue paper, and his bullets pierce them just as effectively.

Just then, he heard the Private's voice over the radio.

"Sir... This is Private Celston... The Sniper you recruited this morning. Is there anyone in particular I should be gunning for? Or should I just do what I've been doing?"

Cain waited to respond a bit as he took a position behind a building seeing the carnage unfold. Mauville's forces were pushed back to the building, hordes of Pokemon were around. The reinforcement that arrived were pouring into the city from the South. But there was no way they would be able to charge into the HR building they were holed in, and expect to defend it. This city was overrun. But Cain didn't want to tell the HR that directly. He gathered the smart ones would be able to tell from his words, they can't win this fight.

"You target, Private, as well as everyone else, is to make a path for the Mauville forces outside the city. We're here to provide backup and safe passage for them, not kill all Pokemon here. Aim for the Pokemon closer to the building before the entire army reaches there. We'll make a path, and get them out of here."

Cain instantly ran forward as a lot of the HR started concentration fire around the HR building. Sniper bullets rushed past his ears as they started picking off targets around the area. Cain rushed forward with another group of soldiers. He won't be able to take back Mauville, but he sure as hell isn't gonna leave all the Mauvillians to die here.

"Nightwing" Anthony
Mauville City
"My turn"

Nightwing watched atop a hill as the Pokemon army destroyed the city. Buildings crashed down in large fiery explosions.

It'll be my time soon. I'll show these humans that this is a game they can't win.

Nightwing felt charged up with electricity and defensive with his body armor. The Haunter was trying to imagine defeating his enemies and claiming glory. He saw glimpses of lightning and figured
Papercut was at work. He hoped he was okay. He felt Papercut was like a brother to him. He watched as both Pokemon and humans fell to the ground in their own blood. He knew they had fought for a
cause and they knew what the consciences could be. Bullets shot in one direction with elements in the other. Many souls, Anthony realized, were becoming like him, wandering the earth in a
weightless state. He shoved the thought to the back of his mind so he could focus on the matter at hand.

Nightwing jumped off the hilltop and soared down to the battle through the forest. The white snow and what was left of green trees were no more of a blur on the side of his eyes. He felt the wind
moving through his body. He felt he was deifying the laws of physics. Anthony screeched and soldiers looked toward his direction but before they even turned their heads toward him he had slashed
multiple humans with is steel enhanced hands and was already on the other side of them. He shot a shadow ball from his hands toward an AFV and saw that is caused nothing more than a black shadowy
smudge he moved out of sight. He shot his ionized electric hands down into the spines of two other unsuspecting soldiers. Nightwing watched them topple to their knees and onto the snow. He didn't
care to see if they were dead or not. He rarely cared for anything. He watched as the snow covered the bodies. They either have died then or they would freeze to death soon. He inspected the battle field for more humans to kill and places for a sneak attack for future reference.

Anthony moved on to a soldier rapidly shooting down Pokemon in a bloody rampage and took over his body after using Hypnosis. The man's face was scared and bloody but when taking over he became pale
and lifeless. He turned the mindless soldier around and began shooting humans. He saw the humans horrified faces as they thought one of their soldiers had turned on them. They all look in confusion as the metal took out there life. Nightwing felt his energy departing as his control was loosening. It felt like he hadn't eaten in a long time. As if he was consuming g himself. After he was
pleased with what he had done and was too tired to do more, the Haunter threw the gun from the humans hand and ate away his memory before releasing his grip on the soldier's mind. He knew the
soldier would be too confused to defend himself and be torn to pieces by an angered Zoroark or Golem. He felt that the human would have no time to really notice his death. A quick and unsuspecting
death was his gift to the human.

Nightwing then flew up to the peak of one of the few standing buildings and scanned the horizon. He then used his psychic abilities to lift multiple soldiers, he had seen, in the air by the full
strength of his will. As they flew up as ants on the white snow below to full-sized humans a t a close range, then squirmed and swam trying to be released. The fear that their lives were over was
obvious. Nightwing smashed the soldiers down. As they had fallen down they shrunk down and the screams quieted until they hit the ground. Their blood splattered everywhere and from above it looked
like a blank canvas swatted with red paint. Anthony jumped of the building and slowly floated down as if he was a flake of snow. Anthony then walked over to fallen soldier, pain and fear of his
face, and slashed him in half. Then, in the blood of the human, he wrote a "NW" to mark his achievement and planned on going to escape into the shadows to take shelter and rest. He knew he
could rarely get hurt but his energy limits gave him pain enough. He scanned the perimeter and spotted a shadow blanketed building. Anthony dashed over and dove into the abyss of darkness. He hid in silence while the rest fought for their lives....

Officer Mason (NPC)
Mauville city
Office Building ~ Executive level

"Go, Go!" The Police captain yelled. The Small amount of remaining officers were holed up on the Executive floor of the S&W Offices, which, like every other building in the city, was under siege by the PE. "I'm telling you, were not going to make it out, how many hits do you think it will take before this building collapses! The helicopter is gone anyways, so it's pointless to go to the pad." Patterson said "I Didn't survive the last war to be killed by gravity Kevin." Mason spoke as he kicked the second to last door to the helipad open. "Well, better come to peace with it then." Patterson said, finishing his negativity. "I swear," Capt. Forge began "If you keep talking like that, the pokemon are going to be the least of your worries." With that, the doors to the helipad were opened.

Mark Vargas
Mauville City
Executive Helipad

The door to the Helipad slammed open, Mark's neck snapped it the direction and his body started to move, until he saw it was 3 police officers. "Hey, You!" One of them shouted at him. "Are you one of the soldiers sent to save the city?" He walked over next to Mark, who stood up. "Saving the city ISN'T going to happen, unfortunately, we got here too late." The officers seemed shocked. "Then we need to get out of here..." "I'ts not that easy," The one in charge cut the other cop off, "We need to defend this building, what these guys don't know is that there's a chopper coming to evacuate all the people in the building." All the officers started bickering with each other. "Ahem," Mark said "I'm a sniper, and I can't hang vertically along the building, I wouldn't be much help..." One of the officers walked up to him. "You can keep mine, I gotta shotgun." He said with a big grin. Mark nodded and was handed a Glock 21 SF with a laser pointer. He looked at the name tag on the Officers Armor. "Thanks Mason. I owe you one." He said as they all headed downstairs to the lobby.
There were various other officers with SMGs, shotguns and a single LMG held by a soldier, which was being set up on the counter. The lobby of the building was huge, and beautiful. It was decorated with a small brook that ran in a snaking diagonal path through the middle of the lobby, with several bridges going across it and a guard rail keeping people from swimming in it. The brook was fed by a small waterfall, and absorbed by a drain on the end. Tree's decorated across the marble floor on both side, in there own little squares. Mark was whipped out of his trance when the glass at the entrance shattered. He held up his pistol. "Lieutenant, When do I shoot!" The Support soldier said. "When they cross the bridge." Mark yelled back. A red dot could be seen on a Pikachu's forehead as Mark made his mark. They crossed the bridge and the back side of the building lit up orange as all the humans opened fire. The pikachu's head whipped back from the .45 bullet. Mark looked over to the Police captain. "How many people are in the building!" He yelled. "Didn't you see when you came up, most of the building is full of refugees who couldn't make it out of the city. All the time we should need is 30 minutes, and then we leave ourselves." He said as he fired at the wave of pokemon crossing the bridges.

Papercut Isaac Bannister
Mauville City
"Heat of Battle"

Papercut's ears were folded back as he was fiercely charging forward, almost blindly. Then he rammed his spiky head onto something hard - something got in his way - and fell on the snow for the second time that day, losing his senses for five seconds.

"Curses!"

The Jolteon muttered as he was blinking his black eyes to ensure he was still alive. When his vision cleared and his mind was put in one piece, the sound of the gunfire and screams started drilling his ears again. And suddenly he felt like a fire was melting his back and his ribs, even though he was still laying backwards, in the cold snow.
Papercut got up to his feet, feeling intense pain on his back; he shook his head to relieve the dizzyness and looked at what he had landed on - a dead human body with a bloodied spiky iron fist hanging from its belt. The view was disgusting, the Jolteon turned away and smirked, started walking towards the nearest building; he hadn't forgotten his duties as a Chief.

Refreshing, cold wind was blowing from atop the two floor flat Papercut had climbed to, making him feel almost fuzzy despite the wound on his back. That wind was blowing through the Jolteon's fur, slightly shaking his needles as he watched the battle raging on in the main street of Mauville.
The Jolteon was still all fired up and his clever eyes were glowing with adrenaline, thinking of his next move.
After some moments, the thundering roar of the Chief was heard all around the vicinity; the signal to his troops to move forward and take over the Southwest part of the city as the humans were getting out of the south to the north.

"That's right"

He muttered again as he saw a part of the Pokemon forces changing direction, leaving the main street and taking the one towards the Casino. He felt satisfied by this undisputed control over the Pokemon, although he never pursued it.
With a sharpened face and half-shut eyes, he jumped down from the rooftop to the first floor's balcony; the apartment was seemingly abandoned, the window was broken into hundreds of pieces.
Papercut landed soft on the untouched snow of the back alley which was covered in that unearthly, strange something that just didn't belong to the world - the living abyss of the darkness. His ears were folded back, his eyes extended, piercing the darkness; he thought he was lucky to have found his only true friend.

"Hey, you. Anthony, it's me Isaac."

He stared into the darkness and after thinking for a second, a sarcastic smile was painted on his face as he said:

"Don't tell me you're missing the overkill to get some sleep. I didn't know you were a mourning person."

And his friendly laugh echoed in the alley, Isaac himself piercing the whispering darkness with his caustic humour.

Sergeant Jackson Renault
Mauville City
Building- Ground Floor

"F***," Jackson shouted,

" We are F***ed!"

Just after Jackson had shouted, Private Anderson crouch-walked up to him.

" Sergeant, if we can make our way to the top floor, I can get a good shot with the SMAW at that Salemence," Private Anderson discussed. Jackson nodded, and signaled the troops in the building to follow him upstairs.

Jackson, along with the other troops, made their way up to the roof without trouble. Jackson looked around and saw the Salemence.

" Private," Jackson began, tapping Private Anderson on the shoulder,

" Take the shot, when you're ready."

Private Anderson honed in on the Salemence, locked on and fired. The Rocket blew a large hole in the Salemence's Abdomen, and the dying Salemence began to dive-bomb towards the building.

" Jump," Jackson loudly ordered, sprinting towards the edge of the building. He thought that jumping may not be the best decision, but it would be better than getting toppled by the Salemence flying towards the building. Jackson saw Private Anderson running by him. Anderson jumped off, and Jackson did so shortly after. As Jackson descended from the building, he saw the building being ripped apart by the Salemence. Jackson saw Private Anderson clutching onto the side of the building they jumped off, but Jackson aimed towards a dumpster in the alley. Jackson landed inside the dumpster, not feeling a lot of pain, aside from some bumps and bruises.

"The armour pays off," Jackson said, climbing out of the dumpster and brushing himself off. Jackson unslung his M4 and searched the alley. Jackson looked at Private Anderson and shouted,

" Private, get down here!"

Private Anderson began to climb down the building. Jackson pulled out his radio and ordered to his troops,

" Hello men, it's Sergeant Renault. Head over to the HR Base. Stay out of Pokemon sight, I will meet you there."

Jackson saw Private Anderson standing in front of him.

" You heard me Private, let's get to the HR Base," Jackson told Private Anderson. Jackson peeked out of the alley, Anderson behind him. The base was only a block away, so Jackson slinked out of the alley, Anderson trailing behind. Jackson snuck up behind a Nidoking, and jumped on it's back. Jackson pressed his M4 against the Pokemon's neck, before clutching the Nidoking's mouth shut and choking the Nidoking. Jackson waited until the Nidoking had no pulse, then dropped the Pokemon. Checking both ways, Jackson and Anderson crossed the street. Jackson stepped inside the HR building. He saw the beautifully designed lobby, if it weren't for the war, Jackson would be studying every detail of the building. For now, Jackson quietly entered, and looked for someone of a high rank to report to. Jackson saw a Lieutenant with a Sniper Rifle, and decided that this Lieutenant was the guy to report to. Jackson kicked a dead Pikachu as he approached the Lieutenant, who was talking to a Police Captain.

"Sir," Jackson began, saluting the Lieutenant, glaring at Private Anderson to salut as well.

" Sergeant Jackson Renault reporting. I was directing a team of troops before a Salemence diverged on our position, which caused us to split up. I have ordered them to return here. Is there anything you need me to do," Jackson reported, still saluting.

"Sir, Sergeant Jackson Renault reporting. I was directing a team of troops before a Salemence diverged on our position, which caused us to split up. I have ordered them to return here. Is there anything you need me to do," The sergeant said. "Well, Sergeant, I'm going back to the convoy, you can come if you want to, It's not an order though." Mark said, he loaded his new pistol and his rifle, then holstered his pistol And waited for the sergeant to say yes or no.

Jack Spark
Mauville City
Battlefield

Jack groaned as he turned around, pinned down to the ground by an unknown Pokemon who had attacked him from the back. Damn, he groaned, feeling frustrated. He had gone a bit overboard and started to show off, he shouldn't have done that. He made a mental note not to do that from now on, assuming that he'd get out of this situation alive.

"Not bad, but you made one mistake. Never gloat like that after a kill." The Pokemon breathed in Jack's face. Jack was still a bit dazed after the attack, he could only see a blurry red patch of fur on top of him, with heat radiating from it. It took him a few seconds to clear his sight, and a few more to identify his assailant. It was a Flareon, and a very familiar one too.

The Pokemon breathed purple nasty smelling fumes on Jack's face, and Jack immediately turned his head, trying to hold his breath for as long as he could. He eventually breathed in the fumes, and realized that he had just been attacked by a mild Toxic. While the poison would spread through his body, it wouldn't actually be able to kill him, just weaken him for a while. "Goddammit..." Jack thought, as he felt pain flow through his veins.

The Flareon looked at his face and said, "I know you. Jack Spark, no? The Human leader in the old war? I'm pleased to finally meet you face-to-face."

"Oh, so another one from the old war, eh? I can't believe so many of you bastar*s survived..." Jack said with a smirk. His voice was strained, it took him a lot of energy to say that. He could feel the pain spread to his throat. He still tried to recognize the face of the Flareon... and then it clicked.

"Wait.... you're Khufu, the stupid second in command of the last war.... long time no see." Jack said, with an evil grin. It seemed as if he was talking to an old friend... and a memory of Wade flashed through his mind. Jack immediately pushed it away, determined not to let old memories hinder his battling skills. The Pokemon turned his head away, Jack couldn't figure out why. He heard a voice come from the radio in his pocket, "You want me to shoot the b**ch off you, or do you want to beat the sh!t out of him?"

"Nah, I don't think that'll be necessary Mark." Jack said, gritting his teeth. He could see Khufu was focused on the battle around him, so he gathered all his energy, and aimed a punch straight at Khufu's jaw, and at the same time, pushed upwards, determined to get back up on his feet and make this battle an even match.

Anthony "Nightwing"
Mauville City "In the Shadows"

Anthony rested in the shadows like a cloud in the sky. His dreams were influenced by the sounds of the war around him. Nightwing watched as shards of glass jumped, as if spooked, when explosions went off. The building seemed like a warming happy place before the war. With the eyes of a ghost, Anthony could see the family that once lived there, living out lives as wandering spirits.
Anthony slowly felt his energy regaining. He hated the limits of a spirit's energy. He wanted to slash every human out there. Wanted them to pay for what happed to Joseph. He began to feel a steady flow of electricity in the air. He knew what it meant. Isaac was near. He was sure of it. The one living creature he still cared for. He felt fun of energy. He jumped out of the building.

"Hey, you. Anthony, it's me Isaac." He heard.

"Don't tell me you're missing the overkill to get some sleep. I didn't know you were a mourning person." Isaac laughed.

"You know I'm not like that. I love overkill just as much as you do but every ghost has his limits." He began to chuckle.

"You ready to head back into battle?" He laughed as flew past toward the alley exit and towards the fiery war.

Vikar could only watch the rest of the human forces left without him. His body had not sustained terrible wounds, but many of his enhancements were not functioning properly, and so he would be nothing but a burden on the battlefield. He frowned as he climbed in an unarmored jeep and started driving to a facility to get his enhancements repaired. His vision had not stabilized and his right eye was completely disabled, and so he had to drive slower than he would like. This did give him plenty of time to think about everything that had happened. Glancing at his damaged right hand and forearm for a second he shook his head. Pokemon had the advantage in short range were the technology gap was reduced, and they could use both their superior physic and abilities to win. While it is great defeating the opponent when they have the advantage, it was risky as Vikar had seen today. Had the first Pokemon he fought attacked him alongside the Gallade he would have been overwhelmed and killed. If the Gallade had been more careful he would have won even without the other pokemon. Also Vikar being up close like that required so much focus he was unable to command troops while fighting which should be his primary objective. Vikar was sure the General was planning to have a few choice words for Vikar because the stunt he pulled.

Straying from the fort to assassinate an opponent was a bold move yes, and one a Colonel should not have done. That type of mission should be given to a special operations soldier… not the XO. This brings up the second problem: his inability to find balance in being a commanding officer and being an assassin/melee fighter. After thinking over this for a second he realized he needed to replace his enhancements in such a way to better compliment being a Colonel instead of being a grunt. He then began mapping out enhancement options in his head for his up incoming surgeries to better suit his needs.

He finally arrived at Nivok Industries main enhancement facility a few hours later. He wished he could get transmissions from the battlefield, but with the communication system down there was no way to get messages this far. He entered the building and walked up to the desk and said, "Vikar Leroux, I need replacement enhancements." The woman at the desk looked up at him then casually typed his name on her computer. Seeing the result pop up her eyes got big and she quickly motioned him to continue on inside. His profile in the database had a special priority and security pass associated with it that she had likely never seen since usually MD members didn't use this facility since they had their own private one, but Vikar didn't have time to deal with them. Walking to the elevator the guards let him on after confirming his clearance, and he began his descent underground to the R&D facility that located under the main facility. Once inside the secret area Vikar began searching for Dr Hartman, the genius who invented much of the enhancement technology. Vikar had never met the man before, but he knew he was the best, other than Brett, when it came to enhancements, and with Brett elsewhere this man was Vikar's best bet for getting top of the line enhancements quickly. After weaving through a lab filled with all sorts of inventions and various organs for studying Vikar came across a tall 5 foot 11 inches woman with straight dark brown hair in a black suit of light armor. She wore a submachine gun at her side and she was messing with some four legged machine, and didn't seem to notice Vikar.

"You know where the Doctor is?" asked Vikar as he walked up behind her. She turned around quickly and gave Vikar a quick piercing gaze as she gripped her weapon.

After looking over Vikar she said in a thick accent, "Your one of Brent's men… why don't you go to him to fix your problems? Dr Hartman is busy, and he doesn't like to…"

"No its fine Dostya," said an old man who emerged from a dark room off to Vikar's right. From inside the room Vikar could see the glowing of several computer screens. "Andrews isn't available right now and I'm sure there is a reason the boy came here instead of the normal facility for Andrew's men."

"Actually yes… I need new enhancements. As I'm sure you can tell my current ones are damaged. Plus with the communications down there is no way to contact Brent Andrews right now, and I know in the other facility they will not move without an order from him and I need to get back in the field at once. I know I'm going over Andrews' head, but call it intuition if you like… but I felt this would be the best course of action for me. Also you have access to the better enhancements unlike the normal facilities that don't have access to the "special" enhancements." Replied Vikar in a matter of fact tone.

Dostya didn't seem to like Vikar for some reason and she opened her mouth to speak, but Dr Hartman spoke first in a calm gentle voice, "Mmmm yes, I would say you made the right choice. Waiting for Andrews could take weeks since the Pokemon disabled our communications. What were you looking for enhancement wise?"

Vikar then explained his situation and his ideas which the old man listened to intently, while the woman looked uneasy about the whole thing. After Vikar finished the Doctor said, "I think I have just the right enhancements for you. O yes I have a great one indeed."

"Doctor you don't…" said the woman before being cut off by the older man again.

"Yes, Dostya… I give only the best to my "friend's" troops. We did work on this technology together so I do not see why we can't give one of his men the best we have," replied the doctor purposely cutting off Dostya. The Doctor then addressed Vikar again saying, "Now follow me, it might be just me and Dostya here, but I invented a very good automated machine to assist."

Several minutes later Vikar was strapped to a table once again and injected with powerful drugs as he prepared to have another enhancement surgery. As he went under he could hear Hartman saying to himself, "Very interesting… O, yes… interesting indeed Andrews. So this is how you make loyal…" Before Vikar could hear the rest of what Hartman said the drugs overpowered him and everything faded to black. When he woke up Dr Hartman wasn't there but the woman was. The straps holding him down were already undone and his head was pounding.

Despite the pain Vikar sat up up and once he did Dostya glanced over at him with a scowl and said, "Come with me." Vikar nodded his throbbing head and got to his feet as Dostya left the room. Looking back at the fresh blood stains on the floor and metal operating table with various mechanical arms dangling around it Vikar wondered if he should be moving like this just after a surgery. Either way he followed the woman. She took him out of the complex and to a small abandoned house on the outskirts of town. Several hours later Dostya and Vikar left the building, and headed back to the lab where the final touches were put on his Enhancements.

After leaving the facility he walked to the local garrison, and was able to find a pilot and transport able to get him to Mauville… if it wasn't too late. Loading up some equipment the transport took off, and Vikar looked out at the city as if faded into the distance. Everything had changed… even things he never thought would change. Refocusing on what was ahead of him Vikar's eyes narrowed. He had a war to win, and then he could figure out who he was.

Mark Vargas
S&W Offices Lobby
Mauville city

"Actually, never mind. I just remembered something else I have to do. Umm... If I were you, I would head to the convoy and make sure it's not overrun. There should be 20 soldiers guarding it. If you go there, there yours to command, so long you use them to keep the convoy secure. Well good luck!" Mark said as he ran back up the stairs in a hurry. He went back out onto the helipad where the last chopper was air lifting the last group of civilians out of the city from the building. Vargas opened the door to where the pilot was sitting and said "I need to get to that building." He pointed to a building in an unoccupied area. "Get in." The pilot said. Mark sat in the back next to a man in a dark grey hoodie holding two pistols. "I got one just like that, but it looks better, trade you?" Mark pulled out his pistol. " I want to at least see yours first. The man pulled out a Glcok 21 sf with a black titanium bottom half and the top was made out of what looked like a carbon steel. "Sure, I'll trade." The men switched weapons. 'idiot' Mark though. It wasn't the same, It had a flashlight and a laser pointer. "Soldier guy, get ready to jump." The pilot said. "Jump?" "Yeah, jump." Mark got out onto the ski. when the helicopter flew over the building he jumped. He hit the ground in a roll, only stopping when he hit the wall. Power armor really helps with everything. He got up like nothing much had happened and pulled out his rifle. Mark set up on the north east side of the building. He had a great view of where the biggest and most concentrated battle was. Mark aimed down his sight and shot a dragonite straight through it's throat. "Hmmph. Tat wasn't a headshot, now was it."

Cain Trace, General
Mauville City

Cain fought beside a group of humans trying to make a push for the HR building in Mauvilee City. He shot a Marowak on the side of his heads as he made his way there, only to see the Marowak still fighting with apart of his skull fractured. He threw his club, which narrowly missed Cain. Cain quickly retaliated with a barrage of bullets to the body of the Pokemon. The Marowak fell now, dead from the attack. He moved on now as he proceeded to the HR building. From the right, he could see another portion of the Pokemon army entering the city. They were targeting the HR building, cutting off the reinforcements from them in an attempt to completely surround the humans, and achieve complete victory. Cain had to act fast. Shooting down an Executor and an Aipom as he made his way to the front doors of the HR building. Inside, humans patrolled, keeping any other Pokemon from entering any of the doors. He could hear gunfire coming from the rooftops, probably fighting between flying Pokemon and AA guns. A Sergeant approached Cain and gave him a quick salute, which he returned.

"What's the status here, Sergeant?" Cain asked as he looked around at the hardened, and some frightened faces of the soldiers around.

"Pokemon pouring into the city mostly from Route 118. Also lots of them on Route 110...but I'm guessing you know that seeing as you came from there. Civilians are being evacuated from the rooftops of this building, but we're being met with heavy flying Pokemon resistance." He took a long pause and then said words no General would want to hear. "We...won't be able to hold this position for long. Pokemon will overrun us any minute."

Cain sighed and then nodded. He had to act fast.

"Are all Mauville troops here in this building?" Cain asked.

"We have a few more in the bike shop...but that's right were all the Pokemon are coming from. It's suicide to try to reach them now, sir."

Cain looked at him intensely. He spoke.

"I hate to admit it, Sergeant, but you're right. It is suicide. But I can't condemn them to death if I can somehow help it. It was my mistake which gave the Pokemon the opening to attack Mauville, and now it'll be on my blood that I help them get out of here." He looked at everyone as he spoke over the radio to everyone in Mauville.

"Gentlemen, this is General Trace. I'm gonna need a few daredevils with nuts of steel to help me make a push to the Bike Shop and get out the men from over there. No one's gonna get left behind if we can help it. There rest of you, clear a path from the HR building to Route 110 and keep it clear. We need an exit from here. We're not trying to take back the city now. We're trying to get out what's left of the Mauville population. Trace out."

Cain went out the east doors of the building. Well over a few dozen soldiers, including the Sergeant, followed him toward the direction of the bike shop. Cain set his rifle on automatic as he sprayed incoming Pokemon with bullets. Others gathered from behind him to add support, while remaining soldiers in the building provided cover fire. He didn't immediately see whoever followed him to the bike shop, but he had nothing but the highest praise in the back of his mind for them, because like him, they were idealistically stubborn, but also realistically sound. In war, after all, there were no winners, only survivors. Well today, the Mauvillians were going to survive.

Herodes
Mauville City

"BURN THEM, KILL THEM!" Herodes screamed as he sprayed some humans with a flamethrower. The Pokemon army was advancing all across the city now as they took down the humans in their path. The HR reinforcements were a problem, but it wasn't nearly enough to stop the Pokemon.

"Advance to the HR building. Pursue them all the way out the city if we have to! None are leaving alive!" He screamed.

"Uh, sire.." A Haunter said. "...we don't have to pursue them." He said quietly.

"Eh? Why's that?" Herodes said, impatient. The Haunter replied.

"They're coming right towards us."

Papercut Isaac Bannister
Mauville City
"Messing with the Drill"

The Haunter emerged from the shadow's and his shady voice echoed in the alley.

"You know I'm not like that. I love overkill just as much as you do but every ghost has his limits."

Papercut raised his eyebrow and shook his head while looking at somewhere on the ground. After a moment, Nightwing turned around.

"You ready to head back into battle?"

The Jolteon muttered something and watched as the Haunter flew out of the alley. He shook his head again, sat down and started licking his front leg which had a scratch. He hadn't realised he had been hit there, but now the pain was drilling him.
Papercut took some moments alone, listening to the sounds of the battle. Between the shooting and screaming, he could clearly hear some louder sounds, probably coming from heavy machinery.
That brought up the memory of his friend Johny, explaining to him the sniper's job, as his father was a sniper in the war that took place in Sinnoh. Then Papercut remembered that sniper's are onto buildings, assasinating his troops. His head was raised upwards to the sun coming down from the sky, onto the alley and his black eyes widened in -not hatred- something between anger and sarcastic, mocking feelings.

Somebody's cheating.

He instanly got up and after two seconds, he was standing on the roof of the building, exactly where he was before, looking all around the city. Some buildings were taller, some shorter of the one he was right on.
Papercut charged, jumped from rooftop to rooftop, heading towards the west end of Mauville - he wasn't sure where he was going actually, he hadn't been into this city in three years- until he suddenly stopped, he had spotted something which seemed like a human in soldier uniform holding some sort of a big weapon down the streets where the battle was raging on.
The Chief's eyes widened as he was thinking of his options. The easy one was throw a thunder behind the human's neck.

"What you're doing is not fair, human"

His voice was low and calm, and he had a peaceful smile with a hind of sarcasm on his face, taunting the human to test his speed. Papercut's eyes were half closed and his legs were slightly crouched down, and if someone was an expert at Jolteonology, he'd clearly tell he was about to jump.

"What you're doing is not fair, human" A voice came from behind Mark. He put down his rifle and stood up. He pulled out his new pistol and placed the little dot to the laser pointer right in between his eyes. "What do you think is going to be faster, a bullet, or you." He said. The General came over the radio "Gentlemen, this is General Trace. I'm gonna need a few daredevils with nuts of steel to help me make a push to the Bike Shop and get out the men from over there. "I'll help make the push, fire support is always helpful, just gimme a minute to finish up here." Mark said over his radio, not even having to move a muscle. He walked up to the jolteon. "It's almost cute how small you guys are." He said, kicking the pokemon in the chin. Mark kicked him in the right arm, Knocking him onto the ground. He stepped on his neck to keep him from getting back up and put the laser pointed of the pistol on the top of the jolteon's head.

Papercut Isaac Bannister
Mauville City

Papercut let out a slight groan, feeling his front leg almost broken from the human's kick, and he fell onto the ground. He was utterly surprised by the human's speed, caught him unprepared.
He couldn't say a word, he had only lost his smile and his face was twisted with anger as the human was ready to shoot him in the head.

A sudden, strong flash* of light covered the roofto, right into the humans' eyes and the Jolteon glowed with negative ions which discharged out of his body, blowing the human away from him as the Pokemon's roar cracked.

"Get off'a me!"

Now the adrenaline was running through his veins as he got up to his feet, multiple clones of himself appearing next to him. The next moment, the clones and Papercut started moving towards the human at great speed, Papercut himself preparing for his next move.
