Gilbert composed himself as quick as he could and got up just in time to see his brothers lightning.

His back hurt like hell, but he rushed in and stood in defense of his brother a few other humans had noticed them and were approaching them rapidly.

"I... don't know if I can stop them..." Gilbert muttered.

"But I have to try... Thanatos is stunned and he could get seriously hurt if they get close to him,... I won't let that happen." Gilbert charged towards one of the approahing humans and force palmed him into another.

He used a focus blast to launch the drawn pistol of another out of his hand. Suddenly another human pulled out n AK-47 and shot towards Gilbert, he ran as fast as he could past the other humans, getting them shot in the process. Then he launched an aura sphere at the ground creating a cloud of green smoke. He used the humans confusion and blindness to run to his brothers side. He lifted Thanatos' arm and slung it over his own shoulder.

"C'mon Thanatos, I'm getting you out of here, he began to limp away from the battle scene, attempting to drag Thanatos with him.

    -----

I noticed something flying towards me as I stopped the Leaft Storm. I leaped backwards as the body of the Kirlia flew by me. The one that I had just saved... I looked in the direction from where the body came from. I saw the same man that I had just saved the Kirlia from. It would seem that he killed her and threw her body at me just to spite me. What the hell, there were so many things wrong with that. I then turned to see what damage I had done to Jack. He was holding a dead Squirtle, I wasn't sure if it had been me that killed it, but it was too late to think about that now. He eventually threw the Squirtle at Lilah.

Throwing the dead bodies, using them as weapons?! Damn, these humans were really starting to piss me off. I watched as Jack threw a knife at me and ran somewhere. I used Iron Tail to knock the knife aside, avoiding any injury from it. Jack was a rather good aim; I was surprised he could even come that close to hitting something as small as me from that far away. Well, he did have as much battle experiance as me, so I guess I shouldn't be understimating him.

There was a sudden explosion in the distance. I turned to see that it came from where the Weather Institute was located. I couldn't hold back the sinister smile that plastered itself onto my face.

I turned and watched as Lilah rushed at the other human with a Quick Attack. I launched a Leaf Tornado at the human; he couldn't avoid both moves. At least, I hoped he couldn't. As long as his concentration was fixed on one of us, the other could succeed in hurting him. I still believed him a coward for killing that Kirlia, and I planned to get him back for it. For the Kirlia. For the Shaymin. For the others he had killed here. For the good of all Pokemon. I was no longer going to take it easy on the likes of him, not like I had during the first war. No, this time I would not hold back on humans like him.

    Thanatos Hannibal
    Fortree City

His blue eyes were still wandering in the cloudy sky, as he was panting heavily. He felt a dark and vengeful spirit, really close to him - but where exactly? The spirit was dying - as he was. Thanatos felt the spirit worried that they would die together. Who was it? Rumble?

"War.. The mirthless war of our world."

    His whispering faded at the end of the sentence. He begun to realise that war wasn't a game after all, as he was getting the hang of it. But just then, a huge amount of memories bursted into his mind;

Rumble stood upon Thanatos with a twisted smile that seemed like a grin. Thanatos had fallen on the ground.

"Get up. We never give up, and the option of death is unnacceptable."

"But.. some situations are just too sticky to get out of them, no matter what you do."

Thanatos' voice cracked from the intense pain he felt inside his brain - his father was training his psychic powers. The months he spent suffering made him ready for the war that was about to come - when he entered the battlefield, he was like an experienced warrior.
Rumble smirked and his metallic, menacing voice boomed again in his head.

"You know, I once destroyed a Police Department, blew up its parking and then got chased by a helicopter, watching one of my 'allies' betray me and mock me in front of my eyes. But I managed to survive.."

Rumble looked somewhere in the sky, with an expression of brutal happiness joining the scars of his face, the shades of his past, deforming it, making it look ten times more scary and twisted.

"... We fight with our injuries, we don't just let them take our energy - when the helicopter's bullets hit me, I dragged them out of my body..."

That moment, it was like Thanatos woke up from a coma - his brother Gilbert was trying to drag him.
The Reuniclus used his psychic energy to run a check on his body - he found something unfamiliar - the bullet stuck inside his small shoulder. It was drilling through him, tearing him apart. His psychic power slid the bloodied bullet out of his body, slowly, throwing it in the snow beside them.
He felt relief, followed by renewed rage. The time he spent looking at the sky hadn't calmed him down one bit, apparently; although the intense pain on his shoulder didn't stop, he felt able to levitate; he grabbed the small Riolu and started levitating full speed ahead, his mind veiled by the presence of the dark spirit, somewhere.

Morgana backed off from her son and Rumble got up from his chair. They were in the steel kitchen of the Hannibal mansion.
Rumble's face had the usual, ironic smile on it, his crystal teeth flashing as he spoke.

"And now Thanatos... As your mother did, I will bid you farewell. But before you go, let us shake hands."

Suddenly, it seemed like Rumble's foul intentions overflowed with his psychic energy - towards Thanatos. He felt horror inside him as he could clearly tell that Rumble would never shake hands with him, his experience with him was telling him so. But the fear was covered with admiration.

He shook hands with Rumble, and despite not knowing it, their spirits and destinies bond together so firmly that Rumble was always with him.

Thanatos blinked his eyes, realising what Rumble had done through that handshake - of course, him realising it wasn't part of his fathers plans to bind their spirits without Thanatos knowing for some reason, but Thanatos already knew about spirit bonds and their traits, disadvantages from his friend Aerow, a Haunter whom he was playing pranks on humans when they were kids.

So, that is my father, following me around. If I die, he dies.

Thanatos had the impression that his father didn't want him to die, not because he cared for him, but because he only cared about himself.
He denied such case and kept levitating to Arceus knows where.

    Aki Kato; Private
    Human Defence Line
As the battle raged on, it became harder and harder to get a good shot, with the humans melding in with the Pokémon. True, Aki was a good shot but he barely trusted himself enough not to accidentally bump his rifle and hit one of his allies instead. Because if anything was going to get him yelled at, it was that. Friendly fire. Aki indeed did not want to kill one of his... well, they weren't his friends but he could probably call them that for now.

So, he unclipped himself from his tree and quickly climbed down it, hitting the ground with a small thud. Boy, he did weigh a little extra with the stuff that was on him. Not to worry, he'd just have to deal with it. After he made sure he hadn't dropped anything, he darted forward, his feet trudging in the snow, to a closer tree. If he had a better view, maybe he could get a better shot. Of course, getting closer to the enemy meant getting closer to the enemy. If Aki got too close, he'd be in the line of fire. But putting his life on the line to save his... friends was what this game was all about, no? As he got closer, he could see the blood with his naked eyes. And the bodies. Yep. This was what he had prepared himself for. It wasn't too bad though, the blood anyways. He couldn't stand to look at the bodies for too long.

When he thought he was close enough, he scaled another tree, the cold snow hitting his face as he brushed it off the tree. Damn this cold. Why couldn't they have made war in the Spring, or maybe the Fall? Ugh. Deal, Aki, deal. You'd have to deal.

He bolted himself in when he was higher enough again, testing it briefly before getting back into his groove. So, he aimed, fired, pulled back, aimed, fired, pulled back, ai-- whoa! A jet of ice flew past his head, his reflexes going into overdrive and pulling himself back. Oh dear, oh... yeah, oh no. Aki pulled back too far and fell backwards on the branch, his knees gripping onto the branch. The clip should keep him into the tree if he fell, right? So, he pulled on it, hoping he could just pull himself back up. And when he pulled, the clip pulled free and fell, dangling uselessly by Aki as he finally realised what kind of stupid situation he had gotten himself into. Hanging like a kid hanging off the monkey bars by his legs, he flailed around a little, his rifle hitting him in the face a few times.

"Oh sh*t," he cursed. If he was close enough to get his, was he close enough to be seen? Or heard? Because as soon as his legs would grow tired, the only way to get off was down. Down into the ground. Headfirst. Crap, crap, crap.

"H-hey?!" Aki called out, hoping there was a human nearby to help. "Somebody!?"

    School building

Mark popped up out of his cover, took a shot, and ducked down. He leaned over the cover again, and sighted a fellow sniper, dangling helplessly from a tree. Mark sighed, and holstered his rifle on his back, at the same time pulling out his combat rifle. He vaulted out the window, and landed with a roll in the snow. He made his way around the battle zone, picking off any pokemon that dared get to close with a burst of silenced fire. When he made it to the tree, he holstered his combat rifle next to his sniper on his back. He looked up at the dangling sniper. "How the f*ck did you manage this." Mark yelled up at private. He climbed up the tree and sat on a branch. "You really got yourself in a sticky situation." Mark said, pondering ways to free the trapped private. "Can you reach a tree branch?" He asked.

    Lieutenant Mikkelson
    Fortree City
    Being Carried

Mikkelson was clinging on to his life when Sargeant Spark approached Mikkelson and put a shirt over Mikkelson's wound. Spark tied the shirt around Mikkelson's wound, and picked him up. Mikkelson felt surging pain as Spark carried him to Point Echo. Mikkelson was escorted to some medics by Spark, the medics put Mikkelson on a stretcher immediately and began to sprint towards the Hospital, carring the stretcher along with them. Mikkelson saluted to Spark before his sight went completely black. A few seconds later, Mikkelson lost concisinous.

Steven felt the adreanline as he and his medic crew rushed The Lieutenant to a hospital, or morgue which ever one was needed first. Steven noticed that the Hospital was in sight, and rushed the Lieutenant inside. The crew dashed through the Hospital until they brought the Lieutenant into the ER.

Here, a doctor immediately began working on the Lieutenant. Steven stood by and watched as the Doctor tried profusely to fix up the Lieutenant. Steven prayed that the Lieutenant would survive, just as he had done for every patient. Steven was astonished as he heard the Doctor inform,

" We won't be able to save him unless we can get him to Rustboro in time. He wouldn't survive the flight, so we will have to freeze him first. Steven, bring the Lieutenant down to the chamber and I'll freeze him."

Steven nodded as he grabbed the stretcher, and the rest of his team picked up the stretcher and brought the Lieutenant to the Chamber. The Doctor had set up to freezing process, and the medic crew deposited Mikkelson into the freezing cell, and waited for the process to begin.

Steven grabbed the dolly and picked up the cell that contained Mikkelson using the dolly. Steven brought the cell and followed the doctor towards the Elevator. The Doctor pressed a button and the door closed. Steven waited as the Elevator went up to the roof, where the Elevator stopped. The Doctor got out of the Elevator and headed towards a helicopter, and Steven followed him. Steven loaded the cell onto the Heli and jumped on the Aircraft. The Helicopter departed Fortree and headed west, away from the fight.

Within time, the Helicopter landed in Rustboro and Steven was ordered to follow the Doctor, not forgetting The Lieutenant as well.

    Lydia, Lilah Amada
    Fortree City

Her son was following behind her. She looked back, proud that he had grown up so strong and healthy. Wade had raised him well, as she had suspected, of course. Looking back ahead, they were nearing Fortree, the chaotic mass of pokemon inching closer with every stride she took. Sounds of gunfires and explosions were mixed with cries, echoing from the area. Lydia could only pray her child was alright.

"Almost-," she said to herself, getting cut short as a bullet struck her femur. The Zoroark's face scrunched up with anger and pain, growling as the pain was delivered into her body. Glancing around frantically, there was no source of where the bullet had come from. Taking a deep breathe, her claws pinched the bullet inside her leg, removing it although a fair amount of blood was dripping down. Trying to ignore her pain, she continued on. They had reached the battle- and it was horrid. Blood and bodies littered the ground, most of pokemon.

"This is war," she growled out, searching for an Eevee. She found one, but it appeared to be too late.

    Lilah, Lydia Amada
    Fortree Battle with Vikar
    (( Joint Post ))

Vikar changed his attention from the Snivy to the Eevee trying to attack him. He dodged the first few attacks with lightning fast reflexes aided by his HUD that estimated the attacks' predictable path of flight. He darted back and forth pivoting on one leg or the other for a quick turn. As the distance between the two closed the attacks became harder to dodge and he began to deflect the attacks with his mechanical limbs. His HUD revealed the damage to his limbs was minimal with each attack. It looked like he would reach Lilah without taking any real damage, but then one attack hit his shoulder which spun him around and a second attack to his back made knocked him forward a little. He quickly stopped his fall with his left hand. His body armor absorbed most of the blow and the attacks drew no blood, but it appeared that Lilah now had an opening now that he was knocked to the ground.

Seeing her opponent on the ground, the Eevee drew up another attack. Focusing on the flooring below the man, she released the Secret Power, the snow crystals sharpening into ice. With a motion of her tail, the snow gathered from the side all bundled together, smacking into her enemy. Her attacks wouldn't do much damage- she had to find a weak spot. "You can't defend yourself forever!" Lilah growled out, frustrated that the man had managed to get through all of her shots with little to no obvious damage. In a desperate attempt to hurt her opponent, she shot out more Swifts in his direction while having ice buildup on the ground around him.

'So much for hoping it would try to attack me at melee range,' thought Vikar as he leap off to the side then rolled to avoid the swifts. He hoped the pokemon would engage him in melee range when he seemed like he was in a bad position, but she didn't fall for it. He quickly stood up as a swift star struck him in the chest. He didn't flinch at all when he was hit. The attacks brought no pain to his body, but this was not due to them being too weak. Instead all the enhancement surgeries had damaged/modified his nervous system to the point he couldn't feel anything unless it penetrated deep inside of him. Looking up he saw not only the swift attacks but a small tornado filled with razor sharp leaves heading his way.

'Looks like I need to take things a little more serious since it's now two verses me,' thought Vikar as he activated his most advance enhancement. The cloaking field generator sent vast amounts of energy to hundreds of tiny transmitters all over his body in a split second bending the light around him to make him completely invisible. At the same time the energy field kept any possible scent his body made from escaping. He became completely undetectable for the time being. He darted off to the side to avoid both attacks which could no long be aimed at him. After moving to the side a bit he turned and charged toward Lilah silently. He had to watch his internal and external power reserves since the cloaking field took up vast amount of energy, and he would need some energy it to escape after the fight.

Seeing her opponent disappear, the Eevee had paused, trying to pick up a scent or a sound to indicate where Vikar had gone. There was no success in tracking him, but Lilah was still anxious. Some sort of advanced human technology was hiding him that she clearly didn't know about. Turning her head, Lilah tried scanning one last time for a clue. She saw it in the snow. Footsteps, from where the human had previously gone. A smile perked on her face. Reading the marks in the snow, she took a sudden turn, sprinting and slamming her entire body into the invisible foe.

When the Eevee turned and charged at Vikar he was a little surprised, but he quickly realized the snow was giving away his position. What hid him from the pokemon before the attack was now giving him away. The 14 pound Evolution Pokemon slammed into Vikar as he deactivated his cloaking device to conserve energy. The Pokemon hit him in the chest with a surprising amount of force that sent him falling backwards. As he fell he planted one of his arms behind his back and caught himself. Allowing his arm to bend a bit he repositioned his legs under his body, and pushed hard against the ground with his hand to quickly straighten his body up. His legs were perfectly positioned for a small jump so without hesitation he leap forward thrusting his right arm at the Eevee.

At first it looked like he was going to strike the small pokemon with his palm or try to grab her, but suddenly the lower part of his arm dropped down and a small sword like blade extended out of its hidden compartment with lightning speed as he thrust forward in a punching motion. The result was that the blade's built in extension system's force would add on to his own "punch" increasing the force of the attack. The attack was aimed right at the Eevee's upper body to prevent her chances of dodging it if she was quick enough to react…

After Vikar's fast recovery, it was obvious Lilah had made the wrong choice in using a Quick Attack for countering. The moment he sprung up, her opponent had leaped to her position. She was prepared for a punch, but instead, a sword-like blade extended and caught her greatly off guard. Slashing her torso, the Eevee shrieked out from the pain, her flesh torn from the slice. Lilah instantly drew back. Her tiny body couldn't handle the injury, or the pain, as she had never experienced either so harsh. She watched her blood drip onto the snow, the red liquid soaking inside. Her ruby-red eyes glared back at Vikar with hatred.

    Maybe... I could keep pushing...

A roar from behind made the Eevee pause. Lilah recognized it as her mother, who, looking backwards, had located her and was at the scene in no time. She was hovering over her defensively, red eyes aglow as if daring the human to strike her child again. The Zoroark had to be his size, if not larger. Lilah walked behind Lydia to examine her wound, her mother staying put. She had screwed up; big time. The Eevee was oblivious to the wounds in her mother's leg.

Vikar looked at Lydia passively and looked like he was about to attack her, but he quickly took a look around and realized he was alone. Plus the Zoroark wasn't the only threat, there was still the Snivy and behind him several pokemon had started to retreat from the front line and they were moving toward him. If he didn't move now he would be trapped. He hated to let a target survive, but he needed to perform a tactical retreat or he would get himself killed.

He re-engaged his cloaking device and started to walk away. He quickly moved to the ambush area where there were the ground was cratered by the mines and the snow had melted from the heat and then refrozen into ice. Here he was undetectable since the ground didn't give away his position. He entered the forest area to the north where he deactivated his cloaking device and took one last look back at the Eevee and its mother. He knew he dealt a terrible wound to the Eevee that would most likely scar her but she would most likely survive. He then turned toward the defense line and moved to rejoin the human force.

He happened across a Magmortar and a Charmeleon who were hiding behind a large rock to prevent from getting killed from a turret that was facing their direction. They seemed to be planning something, but Vikar wouldn't allow them to execute whatever plan they came up with. He charged at them silently and they only noticed him as he leap forward at them with both of his blades extended. The Charmeleon was fast and started breathing fire just as Vikar's right blade pierced its chest, and drove deep into its little heart. The Fire from the pokemon scorched Vikar's shoulder melting the shoulder plate a little before the Charmeleon died. The Magmortar was too focused on the turret and never saw the attack coming until Vikar had severed its spine with his left blade. Vikar pulled out the blades and looked at his shoulder with a disappointed look. His right arm's range of motion was now reduced due to the damaged shoulder, but it would be a quick repair.

    ---------------------------------

"Lilah… we're going back home. Now," her mother threatened, eyes still harsh. The telepathy in Lilah's mind almost gave her a headache, along with the language in general; she couldn't just reply back without having to speak out loud. Her teeth were clamped together, the Eevee's pain growing. Her mother had to have seen this, picking up Lilah in her arms and turning back to her brother. Oh Arceus. How embarrassing…
The Eevee's ears dropped in disappointment of herself. She was weak, after all.

    Nick Fizen
    ???

Nick woke up to an incessant pecking; he was dazed and had a pretty severe headache. The last thing he remembered was running from Petalburg, and then something hit him in the head. The pecking continued, and the Typhlosion, then thinking he was being attacked in his half-awake state, stood up quickly and flared his back, green fire casting an eerie glow on the surroundings. Nick looked around but didn't see anything; he kept his fire going just in case though.
A small voice called up to him, "Chief Nick!" the typhlosion looked down to see one of the two Taillow who had come with him on the scouting mission. "You took a pretty big blow from that branch, are you okay?" Nick let the fire on his back go down and then thought for a moment: had he really been knocked out by a tree branch? How un-chiefly of him.
"Yep, I'll be fine," Nick twitched an ear, tuning in to the surrounding area. He didn't really hear much, just the usual chatter of bird pokemon and rustling wind, perhaps some fire too. "Do you know where we are...?"
"I'm Tanner, and yes, we're near Fortree and the human weather station, the latter is closer. Something just happened though, the whole building is on fire! So is Fortree, there's a big fight going on there." the taillow told him, speaking quickly.
Nick thought for a second, "Might as well go help out in Fortree then, come on." Nick started walking towards the fight, Tanner on his shoulder.

We were getting no where, the human defenses were
to strong. If any of us tried to push forward we would
die from either a sniper or incoming bullets. This mission
was suicide, trying to kill these humans was like trying
to destroy one of those old Ravagers with water pulse.
I saw a human peak out of the bunker they had dug so
I shot a water ball at them. They fell backwards and hit
their head; by the looks of it, it looked like he had gotten
knocked out I ran behind a tree and peaked around to try
and find a few straggling humans. I continuously blasted
water at humans I saw which pushed a lot of water pressure
on them. They began to hold their ribs so I believed I had
crushed them. I glanced back around the tree and noticed
a few humans leaving their cover so I charged a water
pulse and released it. I knocked all of them but one on the
ground. The one that I missed jumped backwards and aimed
at me and shot. I leaped back behind the tree but the bullet pierced
my shell and hit my left side. "Ahh h***" I said aloud as I
pulled my arm in my shell to put pressure on my wound.
I could feel blood so I new the bullet pierced my skin, but
the question was how bad. I didn't have time check I looked
back at the human that shot me and launched a water ball to
crush his ribs. The water orb pushed him back and gave me
enough time to find new cover. I moved behind a wall and
used the rest of my strength to call for help. I yelled as loud
as I could and said "Can somebody give me a hand over here!"
I continued to wait for a response and put pressure on my wound..

    Cain Trace, General
    Fortree City
    Human Defense Line, Higher Ground

It all started with the preemptive start of Operation Crow. Lieutenant Vargas had made a mistake, and initiated the plan way to early. Because of it, LT Mikkelson, COL Leroux, and SGT Spark were probably in a tougher position than they ought to be. Cain knew he would have to address this after the battle. For now, he concentrated on the fight.

Although the plan was initiated prematurely, the result was still relatively the same. The Pokemon had no chance against the advanced defensive positions of the humans, nor their strategic military planning. It was at this moment that he was thankful he had a Colonel like Leroux in charge of the defenses. Even though there was a minor tweak in the plan, it still went off pretty well, and the Pokemon were crumpling on the defenses of the humans. Cain was feeling pretty good. It was his first battle as the new General of the humans, and it was already going well. Very well, in fact.

But he didn't like the fact that the members of Operation CROW were now in an open area didn't sit well with Cain. He was thankful when they began to retreat. He noticed LT Mikkelson dragged off by SGT Spark in the battle.

A fellow soldier helping another in the heat of battle. He thought. Commendable.

For a moment, he thought he might have been a bit too hasty to judge Jack so soon on his previous actions. He was only a teenager in the previous war, after all. It's not like he knew better. At this point, some Pokemon began to halt coming forward, and many began to retreat. Cain had a funny feeling. A feeling he got sometimes. He felt something wasn't as it appeared. It was clear the Pokemon didn't attack with their full capabilities, or else this battle would have been a lot more brutal than it turned out to be. They were after something else, and Cain got the feeling he would find out soon enough. But he didn't want to spoil it for his troops. Right now, he wanted to show the Pokemon a lesson. He brought his walkie talkie to his mouth and spoke.

"Gentlemen, this is General Trace. It's time to unleash the second phase of our plan. Time to counterattack. I want you to send these Pokemon all the way back to Lilycove with their f***in' tails between their legs. Move out!"

Cain go off of the radio, and immediately jumped out of his positioning and charged forward at the sluggish remains of the Pokemon attack force. Cain, along with the counterattack force, rammed at the Pokemon with superior firepower, and an attitude to take no prisoners, dozens upon dozens of humans breaking at them with all manners of weapons. Many Pokemon were badly damaged and retreating. Others screamed in pain and cried for aid. Cain hated to admit it, but the screams were like music to his ears, and his Assault Rifle was the conduction of the opera.

    Aki Kato; Private
    Human Defence Line
"How the f*ck did you manage this?"

"Lieutenant!" Aki almost saluted as Vargas came to his rescue but right now was barely the appropriate time for it, dangling for dear life and all. The Lieutenant climbed up the tree and joined him on the branch, though he was sitting rather than hanging. "I fell, my clip came loose, sir!"

"You really got yourself in a sticky situation," the Lieutenant stopped for a second and thought before talking again. "Can you reach a tree branch?"

Aki attempted to lift himself but the branch was too thick and wet to get a good grip on. Even if he did, he very much saw himself sliding forward and just falling off the other way. Though, Vargas was a sniper himself, wasn't he? Surely he would have clips to put into the tree so he could just reclip himself and pull himself up, or was his strap too short? He could give it a shot. He considered simply asking the Lieutenant for his hand but surely Aki would pull the two of them off together. Aki let out a quite moan as the blood rushed to his head and he started to get dizzy. Shoot, they had to do this quick then.

"Do you have any spare carabiner clips you could bolt into the tree? If you could just," he breathed out mid sentence. God, this hanging thing was getting painful, "bolt it in then clip mine on, I could pull myself up."

    Overprotectiveness = Selfishness
Gilbert stumbled towards a duo of a Gardevoir and Chansey. The two medics rushed forward and took Thanatos from him.

"Stay safe brother, make sure to get back to me when you feel better." Gilbert began to walk away.

"Warrior Gilbert... your wounds." The chansey said notifying Gilberts grazes and bruises.

"Haha, don't worry about me miss Chansey, it'll take more than this to stop me!"

    "But..." The chansey said.

Gilbert smiled and winked, raising his hand into a thumbs up.

"Im expecting you to have my brother back in action, quick as a flash Ok?" Gilbert said as he dashed back to the scene of the battle.

    ***

Gilbert landed at the battle scene after launching through a plane of smoke.

An abnormally strong wave of psychic energy hit his mind, he turned to see Lydia talking to Lilah through their minds. The psychic energy had come from the extremely harsh flux in their aura patterns when Lydia sent the telepathic message. Gilbert couldn't tell what they had said, he wasn't that advanced yet. But he could tell what was happeneing after Lydia took Lilah and began to walk away.

*After one messy fight she's taking her home?* Gilbert thought.

    *No way.*

"I guess I was mistaken..." Gilbert said appearing behind Lydia.

"The Lydia from the storys I've heard would at least give their child a chance to prove themselves before just jumping to conclusions and getting overprotective... so I guess you're not her..." Gilbert smirked.

"Honestly think about what you're doing for a second, if I remember you were very close friends with a different Eevee who managed to prove themselves useful in the end." Gilbert was obviously talking about Mandel.

"If you let Lilah rot away in solitude she'll never become strong enough to defend herself in these situations! You need to let her become strong, instead of trying so hard to protect her why not train her?" Gilbert grimaced.

"Its obvious you're afraid for her but she obviously wants to become stronger, keeping her from acomplishing that simply to put your mind at ease is nothing but selfish." Gilbert looked disapprovingly at Lydia.

"Think about it... you may say you're doing this for her benefit but all you really want is not to have to suffer the pain and heartache mixed with losing her. Theres obviously risks but sometimes risks are necesary, after all the direct definition of selfishness is putting ones own needs, wants, desires and concerns before those of others, which is exactly what you're doing now. Selfish, selfish, selfish..." Gilbert tutted.

Gilberts aura sensing apendages hovered as he sensed the hostile auras of approaching humans. He formed and aura sphere in his hand and turned to face the coming oponents.

"So what do you say?" Gilbert asked, pulling the sphere of green auric energy back and preparing to launch it.

"You going to let her fight or continue with your selfish ways?"

    Thanatos Hannibal
    Fortree Woods

It was all a blur for Thanatos, until he noticed the presence of pure spirits nearby. Arceus sent those medics..
The Gardevoir's psychic energy filled his wound, his temperature dropping from fever.

"Don't worry, we will be safe from now on. The human communications went down."

The Reuniclus saluted them with nothing but seriousness in his face, considering what they told him. He watched Fortree City from afar and stood in place for a moment, lost in thought as the two medics left.

The human forces which ambushed us didn't seem many... there's got to be backup. And when the backup arrives, our forces will be crushed under them. Either we need to retreat now, or I should find a way... What should I call it, conspiracy of one?

The dark spirit of Rumble had vanished along with the pain Thanatos and the wound the bullet caused. The wound hadn't closed entirely, it was still hurting abit, but Thanatos was fine, shooking off the pain and focusing on his plans.
His blue eyes were reflecting the battlefield in front of him - the Pokemon didn't seem to have any kind of formation, something that definitely contained their battle effectiveness. Thanatos frowned. How can Pokemon be that stupid? They will be crushed by the humans, even if they don't have communications... Except if the cowardly humans run away.
Thanatos' glare fell into the snow on the ground... Then on the clouds in the sky, the same ones he was staring at some minutes ago. A huge, newfound, terrifying grin was spread across Thanatos' face, deforming his smart characteristics as his eyes flashed with power.

"All I need is a Ghost-Type Pokemon, then."

The lone Reuniclus levitated towards the battle, searched for some seconds, then he tracked down a Frosslass channelling her ice powers on the humans. He took cover behind a tree, although his bulky body was overlapping out of the tree's trunk and waited for the right moment - the moment the Frosslass' life was in danger. In the meantime, he started channelling his own powers by performing the circular motion with his gel hand.
The moment arrived when he saw a human pointing his gun at her, the next moment he was blasted back and the ghost Pokemon was shaken violently as she was pulled towards Thanatos.
She looked him angrily and Thanatos' expression passed the message; he wasn't kidding around.

"We're about to die, miss. Do me a favour and gather all the Ice and Flying Types you can - you're a ghost, you should have no trouble moving around."

"And why would I do that?"

Thanatos smirked. He didn't like the resistance the Pokemon showed him - but it was only natural and predictable. So, he proceeded into the next step and explained his plan to her.

"Are you sure? It does seem dangerous, dear."

"Humph, war itself is dangerous. And there's no other way to counter the humans."

The Frosslass was about to spear her doubts again, but Thanatos' harsh voice interrupted her, him moving away.

"You'll know where to find me."

He was levitating alone in the snow, climbing up the small hill - he stopped to look the clouds. His body shook with excitement.
Thanatos then took his eyes from the sky and looked at the battlefield. He raised his arms and sent a psychic pulse made with all the power of his aura, containing one message.

Brother. If you can hear this, come to the hill - I have a plan.

The Reuniclus shook off the disturbance his wound was causing him and focused with his eyes closed, calming and clearing his mind. He opened his blue eyes to look at Fortree about 2 miles ahead, the forest below him raging with the battle. He was in perfect position.

(OOC: Yo Aura, bring Lydia over. This might get ugly :D)

"Do you have any spare carabiner clips you could bolt into the tree? If you could just," The private breathed out with a pained look on his face, "bolt it in then clip mine on, I could pull myself up." he finished his sentence. "That would be a great idea, but I prefer buildings to trees, so, no, I don't." Mark said. He looked around, loosing patience with the situation. If Aki just hanged there, he would die, for sure. Finally, he just said "f*ck it." Mark grabbed up the private's arm after getting as far back as he could, to help prevent falling, pulled out his Combat rifle with his spare hand, and shot the private loose, then quickly dropped the rifle and grabbed onto the tree, practically clawing into the bark. Vargas pulled Aki up with all his muscle. "I suggest you come with me now, can't do much out hear now." he said as he climbed out of the tree. It was a miracle they didn't both fall out of the tree. Mark picked up his rifle in the snow. "You coming, private?"

    The Aura Guardians instinct

"Brother. If you can hear this, come to the hill - I have a plan."

Gilbert smiled at his brothers attempt to send a message through auric energy.

"Why Thanatos, my evolutionary line can sense aura at a level equal to that of a legendary pokemon... of course I can hear you! However I suggest you stick to telepathy from now on... using aura is riskier bussiness and you're recently injured. I'll be there soon." Gilbert took the aura sphere in his hands energy and converted it into a source of power for his auric message. More appropriately named by his people as auric imagery, all pokemon and some people had the ability to utilise this form of communication, however it was risky using aura as an energy form, whatever the case.

Gilbert turned and smiled at Lydia.

"Lets put it like this... I'll let you walk away here if you want, escape the war and never return, I don't care. However Im also giving you the option to follow me. My brother... Rumble and Morganas son, is waiting for me at the hill... Im not forcing you to follow me its your choice, however I would seriously consider it." Gilbert rushed off in the distance, after all if his brothers plan worked, the hostile humans coming towards them probably wouldn't be a problem much longer.

However something troubled Gilbert, inside his brother he felt a small spark of darkness deep within his aura, as if another slumbered there, although he couldn't be sure, Gilbert was worried for his brothers wellbeing. The aura of two was not meant to reside within one, his natural knowledge as a guardian of aura assured him of that.

Gilbert arrived at the hill and saw his brother waiting for him. Gilbert smiled.

"There may be other joining us soon, a young girl named Lilah and her mother... who just happens to be the Lydia mother told us about in the storys of the past war... however know is not the time for reminiscense, you said you have a plan?"

    Cain Trace, General
    Fortree City
    Battlefield

Most of the Pokemon were retreating. Cain and the counterattack were pushing them back, and even more humans were coming in. They were hosing injured Pokemon down like they were bugs. It was pretty messy, but it was also necessary. Cain wanted to show the Pokemon one thing: They mess with Humans, they don't just lose. They die, badly. This, he hoped, would be the first step in convincing them they were fighting a terrible war, and might open up negotiations for peace. Peace, after all, was still an option.

If we don't end war, war will end us.

His brother's words still reigned in his mind. He knew it to be true, and he didn't plan on Hoenn to be the next Sinnoh.

Then he felt weird. A strange sensation came over him, like a chill down his spine. He looked around, and noticed quite a few Pokemon retreated, and going for a part of the forest. He felt weird. It wasn't the first time. People often said Cain had devil's luck, as if he could feel when something wasn't right, or when something bad might happen. He had a similar feeling now. He didn't know what was going on, but he didn't like it. He took out his mini-radio, and sent a transmission to his second-in-command.

"Colonel Leroux. This is General Trace. Something's not right. I don't know what, but they're planning something...and I don't want them to get a chance to respond. I know it sounds strange, but go with me on this. Gather up the cavalry, we're not giving them a chance to respond."

He cut transmission, hoping the Colonel get's some heavy guns on the hill, and soon. Cain sent another transmission back to the Fortree Defense Line.

"General Trace following up on activity in base camp. How are we doing?"

"Base Camp holding up sir, not much of the bastards are getting through, and most are heading back. Skies are relatively clear for now two, AA guns keeping them clean."

    "Good work, Trace out."

Cain got off radio contact, waiting for a response from his Colonel. He noticed a downed Pokemon hiding by a wall. He didn't notice Cain yet. He took out a grenade, took off the pin, and threw it. Cain moved on. A few seconds later, a large detonation of plasma exploded behind him. Cain seemed to care less about it, moving from one target to the next.

    Chief Nick FIzen
    Fortree

Nick ran behind a collapsed tree that had a building smoldering on it's side. The heat of the fire energized him and he peaked out from the top of the building, ducking down when he heard a gunshot. A hole tore through the wood where his head had just been; that had been a close call with death. Nick's ears twitched and he heard a call for help, a somewhat familiar voice. Nick ran towards it, Tanner flying close behind. Nick dodged bullets and blasted humans with green flamethrowers as he went from cover to cover. The typhlosion finally pin-pointed the source of the cry for help; it had come from behind and wall and Nick dolphin dived behind it, landing next to Scott the wartortle. Nick couldn't see one of his arms and there was blood coming from the leg hole in his shell.
"Is your arm... Missing?" he asked as he knelt by the water type, examining him. Nick heard a small screech and turned quickly to see Tanner fall to the ground. The taillow had a big hole in his chest and a missing wing, probably hit by a shot gun. Nick grabbed the small body and dug a small hole in the snowy ground, placed Tanner in it and covered him up, marking the grave with a flamethrower that blackened the ground, the heat and pressure making it hard rock. All this he did without a word, but now Nick looked back to Scott, "We need to get you to a medic, now." Nick picked up the water type and jogged towards the direction it seemed the pokemon had come from. A gardevoir and Chansey were working on some other wounded pokemon, he set Scott in front of them, knowing he would be taken care of. "Take care, Scott. That's and order," Nick gave a slight grin, barely able to believe himself that he could make even a slight joke in the middle of a fight.
Nick ran back towards the front lines and just stood there, waiting. After a few seconds, a group of soldiers surrounded Nick, unsure of whether or not to attack since he was just standing there. Nick looked around, a glint in his eye. He raised a fist and brought it down on the ground as hard as he could, using earthquake. The attack made large fissures around the point of impact and a few soldiers fell into them. Those who didn't fall in collapsed and Nick used blastburn, incinerating them all.
Nick jerked back though as a bullet pierced his shoulder, going clean through. He moved back to cover and sat down. There was a dead soldier next to him so Nick ripped a piece of his shirt off and wrapped it aroundhis shoulder tightly, trying to stop the bleeding.

    Scott
    Fortree City

I had gotten worse since I got shot. I felt more and more blood spew out of my wound. I started to feel blood drip down my leg. I felt like I was going to die. I let out one more cry for help. "Is anyone out there that can help me?" I looked around and saw a Typhlosion coming my way. I looked closer and it was Nick the one I saw back at the battle tent. My vision was getting blurry. Nick looked like just a haze of fire to me. Nick ran towards me and dolphin dived behind the wall. "Is your arm... Missing?" he asked me as he knelt by my side examining me. I chuckled a bit and pulled my arm out of my shell, "Nah, just putting pressure on it" I heard a small screech so I turned and looked to my right, Nick did the same. A small bird pokemon had gotten shot. Nick jumped up and picked up the small pokemon and buried it. He came back to me and said "We need to get you to a medic, now." I couldn't think about anything at the point except he was going to get me out of here alive. Nick then picked me up and rushed me to were a Chansey and
Gardevoir were working on another wounded. Nick set me down in front of them and said "Take care, Scott. That's and order," I looked at him and said "Thanks" with a quick cough. I was going to be safe, thanks to Nick.

    -----

I looked around the entire battlefield. It looked like complete and utter confusion; a jigsaw puzzle where you couldn't see half the pieces. I had no idea where to go next, my judgement was already a little clouded from my anger. Once I saw a human hanging from a tree, I knew my next target. Any other time I would have laughed at the human's stupidity, but at the moment I was way too pissed to laugh at anything. I ran towards the human just as another got him out of the tree.

I noticed both human's weapons were sniper rifles. They were both way outside of their territory, and if I was lucky, their comfort zone on the battlefield. It would give me the upper hand as they tried to figure out how to fight at close range with a sniper. I recognized one of the humans, but I didn't bother to remember his name. All I bothered to do was attack.

I used Leaf Tornado on the ground, sending myself about forty feet into the air. I hardened my tail with Iron Tail and started to spin in the air, coming down on the humans with extreme force. At the very least, if the humans reacted fast enough to block my attack with their sniper rifles, I could cut right through them and disarm the humans. If they didn't react fast enough... bye bye humans.

    Under a tree

Mark brushed the snow off his Combat rifle. He looked up and waited for the private to answer him. Sounds were now coming from behind him. He spun around quick enough to see a snivy. It was descending on his position while using iron tail. He dodged out of the way with a swat roll. Mark took aim with his combat rifle and followed his motions while holding down the trigger, going full auto. He kept shooting 'till it went click.' He threw the weapon to the ground and pulled out a knife. Mark stood at the ready with the blade in his hand, waiting for the snivy to make a move. "C'mon, you wanna fight, bring it." He said. He leaped forward and brought the knife down towards the pokemon with all the force he could muster up.
