I'm Done! I'll move my SU here to make it more convenient.
Name: Elijah Oswald
Gender: Male
Rank: Private and Proud
Class: Spy
Age: 19
Starting Weapon: A set of throwing knives (hope it's okay to have a set) that he uses as makeshift combat knives from time to time. "Vice-versa" can be a very useful phrase.
Appearance: Elijah has short, wavy sandy blonde hair that he messes up a little bit so that it doesn't look all "done." His eyes have a sort of naturally smokey look, and they have dark, steely blue grey irises. His nose is small in shape, but a normal size (it's hard to describe), his lips are thin and his ears are a medium size. His face is an oval shape, which ties in well with the sleek, black, plastic-framed glasses he wears when either he can't find his contacts or he's in the "glasses mood." He also wears a navy blue beanie with dark grey stripes in the cool weather.
His neck is long, and he always wears a silver chain necklace with a crescent moon on it. His shoulders are are surprisingly close together, but you have to really notice it. His arms are long, reaching to the middle of his thighs at the very end of his fingertips. They're thin, but there's just barely noticeable muscle in the bicep area. His torso is pretty consistent in width for the whole length, which is a considerable measurement on the length account, while the width...not so much. He's lean, but not skinny; he doesn't look very skinny at all. His legs are medium length, with kind-of-biggish thighs, knobby knees, small calves and ankles, and large feet.
He usually wears a variation of hoodie/t-shirt/jeans or t-shirt/shorts, his favorite outfit being an aqua-and-cream-striped hoodie, underneath a grey short-sleeve t-shirt with the outline of a Magikarp on it, with the words wrapped around it "i'M caPabLe," and a pair of cargo jean shorts. Other articles he usually wears include a green neon v-neck with dark grey stripes, stonewashed jeans and a reversible brown/black leather belt, a grey athletic zip-up hoodie, and a lavender button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He also wears black hi-tops and blue plaid slip-ons.
Personality: Elijah is a warm and kind-hearted guy, and is super polite. He is a loyal friend, and loves to have a good, sincere conversation. He's goofy and funny, and can keep you on the edge of your seat just waiting to pee your pants. But, aha, all is not what it seems with Mr. Elijah Oswald. He has a freezing bad side, including a lashing tongue, which, when he uses it right, can really hurt you. His words sting like if you put your hand in a frying pan--with the grease still in. He is also a world-class liar; when he tells you the captivating and heartbreaking story of his past summer romance, you should take caution, as it's all a lie. But you'll have no choice but to believe his meloncholic words and salty, crocodilian tears.
He can be far away at times, distant. He's uncomfortable around people, but can be outgoing if he knows them indirectly, or is just in a good mood. He is curious and can latch onto something he takes interest in. Although, he does have yet another side; this one serious. He takes on a calm, focused demeanor and just does what he needs to do. He's more distant when he's like this, but he's not hostile or cold-hearted; just not goofy. He won't get irritated, but you should just try not to annoy him, as this can lead to the gateway of his...dark side. His sense of humor can be either cynical or goof, depending on his mood. He is also a bit arrogant, and can be horribly condescending and hypocritical and not realize it.
All in all, he's an interesting guy and, despite all of his...unfortunate... negative quirks, you'll enjoy knowing him, as he has a sort of dramatic magnetism.
History: Elijah was born in Blackthorn City in Johto, to widower Logan Oswald and his fiancee, Alicia Johns. They had a seven year old girl already, from Logan's passed wife, named Naomi. Naomi had always shown promise, and she always wanted to play with Elijah when he was a baby. She held him and fed him and played with his block with him. She made him laugh, and he loved her so much. When he was four, he and Naomi were at the Ice Path with their father, who wanted to take them where he got his first Pokemon very badly. He got a call on his PokeGear right before they were going to go in. It was Alicia, fumbling with her own PokeGear on the other end. She was hyperventilating and frantic, only getting out the occasional words, like "war," "Sinnoh," and "parents!" Logan packed everything back up, threw all three backpacks over his shoulder and screamed for his kids to follow. Naomi took Elijah's hand and ran with him. It was devastating, seeing their mother in such a panicked state. Their grandparents lived in Sinnoh, and apparently there was a war going on there between Pokemon and Humans. Their grandfather was drafted and their grandmother had been killed by an enraged Garchomp just minutes before.
Their mother was taken to the nearest hospital, and she had to stay the night, Chanseys and Nurse Joys running around between her and twenty or so similar patients. They left the hospital with their mother--and were followed by ten mourning men, women and children. They just sat in their living room for the next week in the day, watching reports on the war, crying, and just feeling awful. Then the got their acts together and led their normal lives. After months, there was news on the war; it had ended. By a bomb. Alicia's father died in the explosion, as well as 95% of the region. There was more crying, and then things proceeded as normal for a couple of years, no one talking about any of what happened.
As he grew up basically at Naomi's side, Elijah was absolutely devastated that, when Naomi was thirteen when she left to journey across Johto while he and his parents moved to Fortree City in Hoenn. He was surprised that his parents wanted to live so close to the border of the recently named "Amity," the home of the Human Republic, Hoenn's reincarnation of the original, Sinnoh-based Human Republic. And there they lived their lives, his mother taking a job as a nurse in the nearby Pokemon Center, and his father taking a job at the furniture store, leaving Elijah to stay at friends' houses or come to work with either of his parents. The next thirteen years went on rather peacefully, with only a move to Fallabor making any difference in their lives. It was a peaceful winter day in town when an urgent news flash came onto the television of the Oswalds, not have happened for over fifteen years.
Apparently, Mauville City had attacked Slateport, a Pokemon stronghold. There was a clang in the kitchen, and Alicia ran up to her and Logan's room, as frantic as the last time. She dragged down her husband and saw her son in the living room with his mouth wide open. The humans had attacked Slateport with all they had, but the head of the Pokemon Entente wanted to talk to the leader of the humans, and they talked it out in secret. Hours passed, and they came out, looking as happy as could be. But as Elijah was preparing lunch the next day, the news came on again, with the horrible news that the human leader had been assassinated. He lost it and joined the Human military, seeking revenge for the things he thought the Pokemon did.
