Tales of Sinnoh: Dimensions​

Do you believe in destiny? As long as we draw our breath, our Wheels of Fate turns, spinning our small and big experiences together. The wheel is said to represent life. Although it may appears to be infinite, and our choices limitless, like our destinies, the wheels of fate can come to but one end. When that wheel of fate stops.. the illusion is revealed and the implacability of fate is laid bare. Death.

Mr. Cyrus was a business man, who worked alongside the good professor of the Sinnoh region, Professor Rowan, in order to create one thing: the bonds between the trainer and pokemon. How can bonds help life? What can bonds accomplish in general? What exactly is bonds? One thing was for certain though, these bonds can become strong. And that strength can only be brought out by each new individual trainer. Today is the day where teenagers & young adults of age are able to obtain their newly starter pokemon, and travel through the Sinnoh region, for their hopes, dreams, and creating these new bonds.

What will be the fate of these trainers? Only time will tell.

The World

The world of pokemon is vast, and mysterious. But, one thing was clear. Pokemon are our friends. So, in the world of Sinnoh, inverse in a pokemon journey as you travel with your partner and captured pokemon, as you solve mysteries, travel to city to city, and having your own fun adventures along the way.

But that's not all; perhaps you should capture and meet as much pokemon as you possibly can, in order to help fill out the pokedex. You can travel alone, or with friends! Everything seems to be great for you! However, be wary that in the distance, not all will be well in the pokemon world. Nefarious deeds, evil plots, and sinister beings all lurk in each corner, bringing their own sense of despair in the pokemon world. Will your light of hope shine in each darkness of despair? It's all up to you. Welcome, to Sinnoh!

When The Roleplay Starts

It was time for your very first adventure. That was a realization you've made up once you've just woken up in in your home in Sandgem Town, in the Sinnoh region. On that day, something came as a delivery for you: a box that contained a pokeball inside of it! It was what you've been waiting for - your very first pokemon! It also came attached with a note:

Good day! My name is Professor Rowan, writing you to say that today is the day to go on your journey. You've been very patient, and for that, myself and Mr. Cyrus are both very grateful! Now then, as you know, you are to head to Jublife City at once, for the start of our ceremony! Don't dawdle, and in the mean while, keep a close eye on your pokemon, and in closed are some pokeballs, and your very own pokedex! So, until I see you again, take care, and good luck!

With that, you did whatever you needed to do before your adventure can begin...

Personality: Very friendly to almost anyone. Has a pretty relaxed air about him. At times, though, he can become quiet and separated from everyone else, in a deep-thought state. Very resourceful and full of information about a lot of things. His strong point is his determination, which leads him to do things others would think twice about. His weak point is his stubbornness, which has cost him a lot in his past. Both could be vice-versa as well.

Starter Pokémon: Eevee (male)

What are your goals?: Wants to get stronger so he can become a Gym Leader. Although, he doesn't truly believe he can. Also wants to look for his father on his journey, who disappeared when he was born.

Appearance: Nathan is a cream skinned youth with jet-black hair and crimson red eyes. With an athletic build, he stands at five-feet eight and carries a rather ominous air about him. His face is somewhat define, giving him a noble appearance and at the same time, still withholding some of his youthfulness. From his experience with women, it can be assumed that he is attractive to the opposite nature.

Personality: Laid back, carefree, temperamental, and still somewhat hard to get along with; Nate is often alone. He has spent most of childhood harboring a dislike for most other people. He smiles falsely in their faces and lacks the general skills to interact with them. The boy, however does love Pokemon with an unrivaled passion. He sees them as more than just battle partners but as friends and companions as well. His love for Pokemon is often looked upon as weird. They thought it was unnatural for someone to be as passionate as he was about them. Besides his awkwardness around humans, Nathan can be quite the courageous fellow when it comes to Pokemon and children; not even he can turn his back on a kid.

What are your goals?: To travel the world with his Pokemon and conquer any challenge that may come his way, is his goals. It may sound a bit vague but in the long run, he dreams of leading his Pokemon to the top of the World; wanting to be called the strongest Pokemon trainer there is.

Appearance: "image removed" About 5'10. Has a scar from his left lower forearm to top of his hand. Weighs about 105 lb.

Personality: Usually keeps to himself and has little experience with girls. Works well under pressure and has no problem with tight situations. Doesn't take insults well and will often wander off. Currently his only true friend is his pokemon. He has good manners but talks quietly so some often don't hear him say excuse me. He gets frustrated easily but tries to contain it. He has never been in a true fight and tries to avoid them at all costs, human fights that is, but enjoys pokemon battles. He tries to be outgoing but often ends up falling short and gets self conscious.

Starter Pokémon: A male Bagon with the nickname "Tyrant" Has a hasty attitude and is rather short. Its moves are Rage, Bite, and Leer

What are your goals?: Wants to beat every pokemon league and eventually become a mixed gym leader or champion. After sinnoh he hopes to go to a region he heard about called Hoenn. Hopes to one day capture a legendary.

Uhh... so, I was thinking of using an Abra for a starter, but it only learns Teleport by level-up. Am I allowed a singe TM move, or should I just go for something different?

Name: Alexander 'Lex' Ward (That is, he prefers to, and tends to be called Lex.)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Lex sports black trousers, light-grey trainers and a grey jacket with white sleeves and a dark shirt underneath. He wears white gloves and has strange pauldron-like paddings on his shoulders. He wears some sort of metal facial contraption, similar in many ways to a helmet, serving as a breathing apparatus and with some kind of food access. His voice is a little bit distorted by it, leaving a metallic quality on his ever-so-slightly clipped tones.

He stands at about 5'9, with somewhat skinny arms to fit in with his generally lean body. He's a lightweight, but he can run pretty well. His eyes are barely visible through his mask, but on very close inspection they look as though they might be green. They're pretty much entirely obscured, though, unless you're only a couple of centimetres away. Although they would be very difficult to see otherwise anyhow, this is also partly due to a yellow psychic light that is emitted through the mask's lenses - Lex uses this to convey the expressions his eyes usually would, were they not obscured.

Personality:

Lex is viewed by many as a genius – a child prodigy, adept as can be in most academic fields. The most noticeable of his talents are his psychic powers; the young man has devoted a lot of his time for training as a psyker, even with his natural talent for it, particularly in the fields of telekinesis. He feels, however, no need for clairvoyance or mind-reading and the like. Taking recent interest in Pokémon training, as well as the creatures' psychic powers, his intelligence comes across in his party management and strategy.

Lex's problems come in his inexperience in commanding others. He isn't particularly authoritative, and his confidence in his own planning leaves him vulnerable to curveballs. He sees most Pokémon as equal life forms in their own right, with their own opportunities for him to form opinions on them. Ones under his control are comrades and friends. Essentially, he sees no reason to treat them differently from humankind.

In terms of personality traits, Lex is generally collected, most of his emotions being mild in nature. He can easily become happy, sad, angry, amused, etc. but he very rarely exhibits these things to a high degree. He is, however, a fan of sarcasm, so what he says he feels is almost definitely exaggerated – particularly when angered. Witty and blunt, but overall not too difficult to get along with, if you can ignore his somewhat freakish attire.

Starter Pokémon: Abra (Male), nicknamed 'Elminster' or 'Elm' for short. Knows Teleport and Hidden Power (Fighting).

What are your goals?:

The priority for Lex is to attain further knowledge. He does want to get experience with training Pokémon and to, with any luck, defeat the Sinnoh league – however, he mainly wishes to unlock the secrets behind the powers of Psychic Pokémon, and to perhaps speak with Lucian, who he has heard is a very reputable Psychic trainer. He's by no means a slacker in Psychic abilities himself, but he, like all humans, seems to lack the raw power Pokémon possess.

He's not particularly bothered about the Pokédex – there are better trainers for that sort of thing, and very few Pokémon are actually new. If they were, he would undoubtedly catch them. Still, he's read up enough on the creatures before starting his journey to know virtually any he's likely to encounter.

I'll try to have an actual picture of him up in the near future, but I hopes this works well enough in the midterm!

Name: Leon Chere || Age: 17 || Gender: Male

Appearance: Leon is fairly tall, standing just at 6"1. His attempts to tame his orange locks have all been met with defeat, so he lets is hair do as it pleases most of the time, combing it when it gets too unruly.

A thick brown leather jacket and sturdy gray cargo pants keep him warm in Sinnoh's notoriously cold climate; he's particularly fond of the jacket's fur trimmed collar and deep pockets, where he keeps an assortment of trinkets and his wallet. His trusty green shoulder bag holds all his possessions, including his pokedex, clothes, and his pokeballs; he keeps them firmly pinned to the shoulder strap alongside an assortment of buttons and pins when not in use.

It's not uncommon to see him sporting tinted shades of some kind, even indoors.

Personality: He's a somewhat notorious flirt; he indiscriminately lavishes his admiration and compliments on anything and anyone that catches his eye, though he knows when to draw the line, and stops should the person he's throwing his attention at seem uncomfortable with it. Leon tends to come off as a being a playboy, but he tries to be a gentleman when and where he can.

The teenager is also infamously dedicated; loyal to a fault and headstrong when it comes to completing his goals and anything tasked to him. Even if he often runs off to do other things, he will always return to his previous task and stick to it until it is completed. Leon also makes a point of being on time or early when possible; a gentleman never leaves someone waiting on them after all.

Leon tends to laugh a lot, at the most inane things, or imply when he's amused. His naturally tenor voice comes out in smooth, modulated bursts, appealing to the ear. It's not especially difficult to make him laugh over the stupidest things either, and he can easily be sent into giggle fits if his conversational partners care to try at it.

Starter Pokemon: Shinx (male)


Goals: Leon has always had a vanity streak in him, and finds contests to be utterly enthralling their flashy nature being a perfect match for his own. He's previously thought about being a dedicated trainer, and continues to ponder the idea, but becoming a top tier Coordinator is currently a much higher priority on his checklist of life goals.

His pride in being asked to help complete the pokedex is also a driving factor in his wish to travel; he has every intention to complete the pokemon encyclopedia, and won't let anything stop him in doing so. Leon holds an immense amount of pride that he was selected and doesn't want to let anyone have reason to think he was a bad choice for the job.

Outside of this, he'd really just like to meet new people and see all his home region has to offer. Who knows? Perhaps he'll even meet a cutie or two to flirt with along the way~

Name: Adam Hayes
Age: 18
Gender: Male



Appearance: Adam is tall and lean, standing at about 5'10". His face is round, and a bit boyish, with a small nose, and large, expressive almond shaped eyes, which are a light shade of green. He keeps his short red hair spiky using a good amount of hair gel. Only enough to keep it's shape, but not so much that any girl who may want to run their fingers through his hair hurt themselves. He was born with lightly tanned skin. Not pale, but not bronzed either, that is maintained by spending a lot of time outside in the tropical Hoenn sun (Where he was originally from.) He is an athletic boy, and is in good shape. He has a toned, athletic physique, that he got from years of training and being active. He is quite proud of this, and likes to show it off by wearing tight tank tops a lot. Apart from on top of his head and eyebrows, he has no hair on his upper body or face.

Adam has simple tastes when it comes to clothes. He wears what is comfortable, and prefers things that are easy to move around in. He often just pulls something random out of the closet, and wears that. His favorite color is red, and is often covered in that color from head to toe. His usual outfit consists of a red form-fitting tank top that shows off his physique. The top is designed with a black sun in the chest, and the rays going outward. On the bottom he wears a pair of red cargo shorts, which are held up by a red belt. On his feet, he wears a pair of red sandals. He has a red headband around his forehead. He thinks it looks cool, and it also absorbs sweat so it keeps him cool on hot days. A pair of sunglasses with red frames can usually be seen over his eyes, which he wears simply because he thinks they look cool. He carries his things in a simple red backpack.

Personality: Adam is a rash, hotheaded young man who has trouble sitting still. He prefers to actually do things, as opposed to sitting there reading about other people doing things. (Although, thanks to a certain cartoon character, he knows better than to make fun of people who like to read.) He is brave, sometimes recklessly so, and he enjoys the outdoors and physical activities, he is also physically strong because of those activities. Adam is the type of guy that likes to shoot first, and ask questions later. Often immature and mischievous, he disregards rules, and can often be a troublemaker. He can also be very blunt, and isn't one to sugarcoat things, which usually ends up offending people. When it comes to voicing his opinions, he's not exactly the most polite person, often speaking his mind and never hesitating to shoot down anyone for any number of reasons. He has no problems breaking the rules in order to get things done. Despite his lean appearance, Adam has a big appetite, and he likes to eat a lot. and he likes to eat a lot. He's not picky, about the foods he eats, and is willing to try anything once. He's not picky, about the foods he eats, and is willing to try anything once. He is lucky enough to have a high metabolism so that he doesn't get chubby easily, plus he excercises a lot anyway. He's very competitive, and hates to lose. He is not afraid to resort to dirty tactics if it means a victory. He is an arrogant winner, as well as a sore loser. Often coming to blows with people he has lost to.

At times, he is lazy, and he often procrastinates to get work done. Despite this, he is very stubborn, and once he's set his mind on something, he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. He is very confident in himself. He thinks he is awesome, and he likes to show off his strength. So much so, that he often comes across as arrogant, he has a tendency to brag about his accomplishments, and he often underestimates others and overestimates himself. It is not difficult to get him mad, and he will not hesitate to hurt people verbally and/or physically if he is provoked enough. If one is patient with him, and he comes to respect someone, they will find he is one of the most loyal friend you could ever ask for. He will stick by you, and defend you no matter what. Although, he will still laugh at you if you did something stupid.

He is a big flirt, and he frequently hits on girls he finds attractive, usually with poor results. It hasn't stopped him from trying, though. He also likes playing games, and he can often be found at the game arcades and casinos spending a lot of money to play. Besides playing in the casinos, his favorite pastimes are playing any kind of sport that lets him show off, and winning. He is a nicknamer, and he often gives nicknames to new people he meets. Despite all the chaos that's going on, Adam still tries to keep an optimistic attitude. After all, being angsty all the time isn't going to accomplish anything. He can't stand loner type guys who appear stoic and emotionless, who think they're so cool because they're angsting all the time. He purposefully tries to irritate these kinds of people when he meets them, to get a reaction out of them. All in all, though hotblooded, Adam is a kind hearted, cheerful boy, and he's a loyal friend to those willing to put up with his antics.

Goals: Adam's ultimate goal in life in was to become better trainers than his parents were, and to prove the kids in the school he used to go to that he can amount to something. He plans to start by getting the eight badges of Sinnoh, and challenging the league.

while i originally intended to play as a male, this rp would is shaping up to be a total sausage fest. so instead, i signed up as a girl. though one thing i found odd was that there was no history section. why is that?

Name: Sadie Hunt.

Age: Almost seventeen.

Gender: Female.

Appearance: When people first approach Sadie, the first things they notice are her adorable features. From her pinchable chipmunk cheeks, to her cute button nose and thick pouty lips, Sadie certainly is no eyesore. When she was younger, she was ashamed of her freckles, but now has grown accustom to them, though she still feels a twinge of embarrassment every now and again. Besides your basics, she doesn't wear much make-up for a teenager. Only when it's necessary will she cake it on, but Sadie prefers the natural look and would rather accentuate her assets than cover her flaws.

On a lazy day, you might catch her chocolate ombre locks balled up in a bun, but Sadie typically wears her hair split down the middle in loose beachy waves that reach just below her bust. Sometimes she might wear it in a side braid or even a pony tail; it really just depends on the occasion. As for clothing, Sadie likes to feel good just as much as she looks good. Donning a dark green cargo jacket, the only thing she wears underneath it is a solid black tank top. For her bottom half, she wears light blue acid washed, high-waisted jean shorts. Originally, they were pants, but she decided to trim them one summer. To keep her toes from freezing off in the night, she wears a pair of black socks that reach up her calves and a couple of black creepers.

Personality: Due to the constant ridicule of her peers, Sadie has developed a very thick hide. Being relentlessly judged from a young age has made her very prejudiced. Her unfortunate past has also hindered her perception, forcing her to only see the bad in people. This causes her to be a bit of a loner. She would much rather be alone than with people she dislikes. A specific way to get on her blacklist is by being too average. Sadie loathes boring and bland people, which is quite ironic because she is very minimalistic. She also hates those that are too loud and eccentric. This leaves courting Sadie into friendship nigh impossible.

Sadie is who she is, even if it isn't who she wants to be. Society has molded her into this being and she has everyone to blame but herself. She won't magically shift into her polar opposite if you manage to befriend her, and she will drop you if she senses the smallest hint of disdain. The only time a smile would ever cross her lips would be when she's striking a deal with the dice loaded in her favor. She developed a bit of a sailors mouth over the years, but also has a tongue of pure silver that she's learned to use in more ways than one to get what she wants.

History:Throughout her younger years, Sadie has always been one to keep to herself. Growing up as an only child, she spent much of her time in her room, playing with what few toys she had. With her parents barely reaching their early twenties, they didn't have much money to spend on luxury items such as video games or new clothes. Most, if not all of her wardrobe has consisted of clothing from secondhand stores. Unfortunately, this led classmates starting rumors about her, most of which were complete fabrications.

Sadies parents weren't stupid, but they were very young and very inexperienced in the field of work. Her mother was lucky enough to find a late night shift, but her dad had no such luck. Even though her father was unemployed, he was always mysteriously missing during the day. Whether he was out drinking with friends, cheating, or committing some sort of offense, Sadie had no idea what he could be up to. But to be honest, she didn't care either. While she loved her parents, she never felt a deep connection with them that the other children seemed to share with theirs. It was just another bullet point added to the long list of why she felt so distant from her peers.

As Sadie matured, so did her style. No longer were her clothes a burden. She decided that if she couldn't please everyone, she could at least please herself. She would perform odd jobs around the city for people, earning quick cash to afford her spending habits at the thrift stores. Of course, with her newfound style came newfound rumors and Sadie was starting to feel sick of all the unwanted attention. After countless nights of depression eating away at her, she finally reached her breaking point. She had heard of people going on Pokemon adventures and decided then and there that it was her calling. No longer will she stand to be some punching bag for everyones amusement. She's determined to prove her strength and the finally acquire the confidence she deserves.

Starter Pokémon: Ruffles, the male Rufflet.

What are your goals?: Sadies main goal is to be 100% confident with herself. While she puts on a front that she is, deep down she's insecure. She hopes that raising a team of strong, healthy Pokemon will prove that she has the skills to succeed at life, even if she started out on a bitter note. Of course, she would never admit that that was her actual reasoning for becoming a trainer. instead, she'll probably fib to those who ask, stating how she "yearns for the open air" or some cliché excuse like that.
