Probably cause people asked Namco to release tota, but a 3ds port was into play so they are localizing the game in Europe and America? (thats my guess on it i guess? lol) Glad atleast Europe will get the chance to play Tota tho :3. (off topic: and ToGF is releasing in Europe too).
 
Yay! Abyss love for everybody! Japan's still keeping a lot of games from us though...
 
3DS is games are probably gonna sell a bit more or be more noticed right now since there's not much else on the platform. That and I think Abyss got a much bigger fan following in the end than they expected from its initial sales, so they want to push it into more markets.

I imagine if they WERE trying to export Abyss to PAL, they might've stopped upon seeing how few sales it got in NA. Even though that was their own dumb fault by releasing a somewhat-niche JRPG the week before Final Fantasy XII. What did they think would happen? XD

I just watched this, and... oh my. I think I wouldn't be playing the PS2 version anytime soon, if the load times were that bad in the PS2 version. Was it fixed in the US release?

At least I won't have to bother with load times when I get the 3DS version.

Yeah, Tota 3D runs 20x better than the PS2 version.
But when i get a 3ds one day, i'll get abyss for it even tho I own the ps2 port. xD
 
Wow, that load time video is IMPRESSIVE. Especially the last one where it shows loading between maps and the 3DS version goes back and forth like 5 or 6 times before the PS2 version even loads the one time. XD;

Being on a faster medium will do loading times much good, as well as proper programming.
 
The delay in NA is total BS if you ask me. The EU is basically getting the NA version, so why should they get it first? I wouldn't mind if it was around the same time and NA was getting it a couple of weeks later or something, but a few months when the game was localized here... there's just no good explanation for that. =/

Then again, this is just another piece of unreasonable BS relating to JRPGs getting special treatment in EU.

Heh... at least it's not getting canceled, huh? I am a patient man, so... I think I can live with delays. Better than not getting it at all.
 
Delay? Man, I was really looking forward to playing that this holiday season.
If the 3DS didn't have region protection I'd just import it from Europe, but, oh well...

Anyway, are we getting any (non-gimmicky) new features for this game, or is it just going to be a direct port of the NA version with 3D effects?
I'd really love voiced skits, but that's probably asking way too much...

It is a bummer about Tales of the Abyss 3d got a delay date.
But, atleast we are still getting it. I'm happy Europe is getting it before cause they never had Tota. Also I heard the reason was cause of all the games that are coming out in Nov thats why they pushed it so they can get more sells.
 
I heard this a while ago when my uncle and older sister was talking about it and is the main reason I'm getting a 3DS for Christmas. ^^
Anyway, when I heard it was going to be released in the UK, I was REALLY happy because I thought I could finally chat to my sister in detail about the actual game not the anime adaptation (which was really good in my opinion) as she has an American PS2 and the American version of the game.
So, I'm really looking forward to it!!
 
Man I really need to get a 3DS already. *-* Also, looking at the video from the OP, I wish Luke wouldn't cut his sexy hair!

I've been hearing of ToA for a while now but I never thought of getting into the games. It'll be great to get this game for the 3DS but it's sad to hear the date has been delayed. :\
