On a wholly unrelated note, I've been mulling over getting 2 hot hatches after my current car has reached the end of its usefulness and turning one of them into an itasha car that I only use to drive to anime conventions, while making the other one a daily driver.

There's a whole list of problems that come with getting even just one sporty car in a place where it's winter 4 months of the year, though. I think it'd be difficult to find winter tires for the hatches I'm eyeing.

That would be cool. Which character are you going to put on it? I'd ask you about the cars themselves but I'm not really a car person, I actually got my license last year, but haven't seen the need to get a car.

I'd want a Trueno kitted out like it was in D.

I guess I garner judgemental stares occasionally for my interests...even the GAME staff look at me funny when I tell them I'm more interested in Japanese titles than what they're advertising or trying to get me to preorder.

But I'd have to learn how to play mafia and that's always awkward D:

It's actually pretty great once you've got the hang of it, and it doesn't take all that long to get into it either. Give it a go, I mean, nothing stopping you from leaving if you don't like it. xD If Once you find that there's no escape, we'll take care of you. c:

Well, I was going to take part in the Anniversary one last year, but kinda...didn't. The Skype chat intimidated me, and I had no idea what to do. Been put off the idea ever since. Plus I've had other things to be doing, aha.

And why are people suddenly trying to get me to post everywhere?! You'll want to see my crappy drawings and awful fanfiction next. xD
 
No idea which character would be the focus. We'll see which character I choose when I get the cash for one if I still decide to go forward with it. Still got plenty of money owed on and plenty of life left in my current car. If I had the money right now, it'd probably be some character from the 2000s or a great character from an underappreciated anime. Or just go full troll and make it centered around a memorably bad series that's so bad it's good. Definitely would be intending on being tasteful but memorable, even though in my area itasha isn't common so that by itself would be memorable.

There's an itasha car that has been in the parking lot at every anime convention I've been to in my area that features Motoko Kusanagi (I think it's a tiny red mid-90s Pontiac).

For those curious, the 3 hatches I've been eyeing were the Fiesta ST, the Focus ST, and the Focus RS.


All the mafia games seem fun, but I don't really want to make the time commitment one would require, personally.

The old Motoko, or the new one? I'm still up in the air with her younger, more blue-haired model. Probably because I'm still adjusting to her new voice actress...which is made especially difficult by her old voice actress having a supporting role in the series.

Speaking of Ghost in the Shell...the new movie is out on Monday. Have to admit I'm looking forward to seeing it <3

@Don; I mean, if you're only going to use it for driving to and fro anime conventions and such every now and then, the Fiesta is probably the best option. Generally though, I prefer the Focus RS but it's quite a bit more expensive, I think.

@Meloetta; Whoa, there's one coming out this Monday? Ergh, why are there so many movies coming out right in the middle of exams, gosh darn it, it's not fair. ;-;

If you're in the UK also (are you? I probably asked you that before, but I forget these things) then yes, it is. Not sure what else is due out next week on the DVD front, but Blanc's game is due out on the 13th, so there's that...May is the calm before the storm, though. It all kicks off in June ;_;

231726. They specifically use SAC Kusanagi, IIRC.

I have yet to see the original movie, myself. I think I have it on DVD, though, and I just couldn't be bothered to make the 1 to 2 hour time commitment to just sit down and watch it (like most anime movies I have on DVD).

My main local anime convention is an April event, and there's been snow on the ground during the even in past years, so a car as small as the Fiesta ST might have issues weighing enough to get decent traction (Fiesta weighing ~1200kg versus my current car weighing ~1500kg) in snow.

Good stuff. I get that she's a lot younger in Arise, but her lack of competence doesn't really strike me as in keeping with her character...

The closest anime convention to me is the one in London, which I've always wanted to go to but never have. I envy you Americans and your regular conventions ;_;

I meant the animated one that follows on from Arise, Pokestick, not the horrible-looking one with Scarlet Johanssen in it. I'm dreading that one...

It'll be an unmitigated disaster, like all live-action films based on animation are. At least, I have yet to see a good live-action film based on an animation...

You never know, really. I mean, if it looks bad with a couple of months to release, sure, you could possibly make such an assumption but we've got an year to see how it'll be. After all, this one could be that one live action adaptation that's actually pretty great. :P
