The 2010s have been a great decade for Pop music all around (as has been the case since the 50s, basically).

I'd say the 80s managed to be the best and worst decade simultaneously when it came to popular music. You could have a top 20 singles featuring greats like Bowie, Costello, Kate Bush, Madonna, Elton John and The Smiths and then have 10 shitty hair metal bands (and U2).
