Scott walked with a brisk pace, he still had about 15 minutes before class started, but he'd prefer to get there earlier than sooner. He wondered how well this class was going to workfor him, given that he didn't exactly have control of his powers. He was interrupted by Lillin, who was still hiding within his shadow.
That isn't technically true…
Scott's brow furrowed and he spoke out loud.
"What do you mean by that?"
Sssh. Sweetie, you don't have to speak out loud. I can read your thoughts perfectly. Anyway, You do have some control at this point, but really it's just you giving us orders. But there's another thing we can do. It's risky, and I don't think you should attempt it until you have more power and stamina under your control.
"Well what is it? And how do you know about it? I thought you only knew what I knew" Scott thought.
Fusing. I can feel a pulling on my essence. I believe that I have the capability to bond with your soul.
Scott began to get excited. If this was true then he might be able to get full control of his power!
"I want to try it." His thought was filled with insistency.
That's not a good idea hon'
"Lillin…"
Alright, but don't blame me if you get hurt.
As she said this, Scott stopped right outside of the power control room he had been inside only an hour ago.
Scott closed his eyes in an effort to mentally prepare himself for whatever was about to come… He had no way to prepare for what was coming next though. Slowly at first, and then with increasing speed, Scott's shadow began to race up his legs, coating his body in an inky darkness. The shadow crept upwards, until it was just below Scott's neck. The Shadow moved up his chin, past his eyes, and over his head until Scott looked like a silhouette of himself. He tried to inhale but found he could not, the shadow covering his mouth blocked all air. Scott fell to his knees, hoping that the deprivation would end soon. The shadow began to creep down his face and up from his legs, slowly restoring color back to his body. The shadow receded into a small space in Scott's chest until it had condensed into a space right above his heart. The shadow seeped in, and pumped throughout his entire body.
The pain. Oh dear god the PAIN! Scott's veins were on fire, they had to be. There was no other way he could be feeling this much freaking PAIN! Scott's eyes squeezed shut and his face contorted into a look of pure agony. The pain began to subside and Scott opened his eyes once more, only now they were pitch black. His pupils were a dark red. Black mist seeped from his pores, creating a dark cloud around him. Scott grinned, revealing two sharp fangs. He felt so different. More flighty, less….material. Like he wasn't actually there. Scott's vision looked fishy now too. He could see the shadows in the hall with perfect clarity, and he could see things in them. He'd learn more about it later. Scott pushed the door open and walked inside.
