Though, on that note, now that I mention it, I actually am pretty annoyed with this. EV training Pokemon is the least immersive thing they could do for the game. As they've gotten more interested in pushing the meta, they've put more emphasis on you playing a game than you being a trainer. Compared to the rest of the game, it's so disjointed. And the actual training isn't exactly fun, either- that's the wall between someone playing casually and someone playing competitively. So many resort to outside cheats and call it fair.

It shouldn't be like that, though. EV training and IV maxing can still have a wall, but that wall should be challenging and require effort rather than requiring effort and also spending hours online looking up who drops what EVs and battling the same things over and over. Even the Soccer thing gets repetitive pretty quick (at least they tried, though). And various things with metas do this. The wall shouldn't be tedious to climb, it should be an engaging and maybe even exciting, and once you've climbed it you'll feel satisfaction. From there, the only way to go is up.

I'm not really so into multi, myself- it was cool when XY worldwide released, though, since everyone was on or around the same level, people were just using whoever was on their team pre-endgame, and it was just a good time. No legends, lots of variety, and Smogon teams be damned.

But yeah, most of my Pokemoning comes from the main quest and Postgame. Not really into competitive since I've always preferred creative teams over meta-restricted ones. For anything, really, not just Pokemon. Problem is, creative teams require luck to beat meta ones; it's not so much about skill as it is what you have, which loops back around to the first sentence.
