That Pokemon Should Have Never Evolved!

Of all the Pokemon owned by a main character/Ash, which ones do you feel got worse upon evolution and should not have evolved? Which ones do you feel should have during the time they were used in battle? I honestly liked Ash's Tepig should have never evolved for some reason, I don't know why. Maybe it's because I liked the Unova starter trio for Ash in all their first forms. In contrary to that, I always wanted Ash to evolve his Buizel. When Dawn got Aipom, it evolved under her care, and I really wanted to see that happen with his Buizel, but it never did. Maybe someday, it will happen... for Brock, I always wanted his Croagunk to evolve. It never happened, though, maybe sometime in the future if he returns, it'll be a Toxicroak. Pokemon of his I never wanted to see evolve, though? Uh... maybe his Onix, lmfao. (Despite the fact it evolved offscreen, but you know how it goes.) I also always wanted May's Skitty to evolve into a Delcatty... shame she never did.

Ash's Turtwig shouldn't have evolved. Mostly because it lost almost every match after evolving. As a Grotle, it won one battle, maybe. As Torterra, it got pwned by everything it battled (or so I remember).

Rick is actually correct, Torterra didn't win a single battle since fully evolving, not counting Team Rocket. That is the main reason why Turtwig should have stayed as a Turtwig, because evolution caused him to have to change his battling style due to the massive weight gain as a Grotle and that was what I considered the only poor decision with DP writing, other than Dawn getting rid of Ambipom.

It's sad because I was really hoping to see Ash's Torterra get a win in his League battle with Paul, but that didn't happen.

I still want to know what the point of having Ash's Cyndaquil evolve was. Similarly, Bayleef was much cuter as a Chikorita...as a Bayleef it was just a disaster waiting to happen. In any other show it would have probably hospitalised Ash several times.

The part that intrigues me is why they waited 10 years to evolve it. It's not like Ash is ever going to use it for big battles down the road.

I always hoped it would evolve eventually because Quilava is one of my favourite Pokemon. But still, I found it odd how it evolved just out of nowhere and then Dawn's evolved shortly after.

Evolving Ash's Quilava to set up for Dawn's might have been the point. Sad, really, since I love Quilava and hoped it had gotten a little more action. But alas.

Not an evolution issue per se, but Misty having both Stars and Starmie but choosing staryu bothered me. I think she left starmies at the gym but still, I would have liked to heard something about it; if something was said I don't recall.

And as much as I liked Togepi it made Misty nothing but someone carrying a baby Pokemon most of Johto. Shame togepi didn't evolve until the episode Misty released it.

I'm glad someone brought this up about some pokemon that should not have evolved. In my opinion Cyndaquil was cooler and cuter then Quilava, the only reason why they even evolve Cyndaquil was to tell it apart from Dawn's Cyndaquil. That's the only reason i can assume why they evolve it in the first place. Cyndaquil was fine the way it was and it was like a little powerhouse in the Original series, and you just don't mess with the classics.
