Issue: that "unread message" bug still there weeks later

    My notification that I have an unread PM is still there despite going and rereading all 15 of my saved PMs three times and it has been weeks and that "unread private message" notification is still there no matter how many times I reread them or how many times I clear my cache!
     
    Are you getting the pop-up notification each time, or just the drop down notification for it? If it is the second one, I am not sure what would cause it or what can be done to make it go away.

    Have you tried sending yourself a PM or even changing skins to see if it triggers it to go away?

    it is the second one and I have received three PMs since, read them but the notification still doesn't go away!

    If your PMs aren't important maybe try clearing out your inbox and see if that helps? Sorry if that doesn't help much, but that is really a puzzling issue and I can't think of any other solution. 8(
     
    Have you read your Sent Items folder, by the way? At times they go unread for some reason.

    sent items completely empty and 1 unread message STILL there

    I swear to GOD this will NEVER go away
     
    Maybe get someone to PM you and see if it goes away then? I know when this happens with VMs, if you VM yourself, it goes away. You can't really PM yourself though, so...

    If you WOULD HAVE READ earlier I said I already had three sent to me since!
     
    I'm going to echo Chase, and suggest you delete your entire inbox and outbox if the PMs aren't important. That might fix it.
     
    ok... but unfortunately I lost a few links that I may need later in the process...
     
    You could have copied and pasted those links onto a separate page or something. :C

    Is the issue resolved, though?
     
    For the record, you can back your PMs up before deleting them. if you scroll to the bottom, you'll see the option to download them, and just use the text downloader as that will place all your PMs into one text file. :)

    Um. Just a reminder you shouldn't treat people like that when they're trying to help you. I missed where you mentioned that clearly, so that's my mistake, but there was no need for that. Bear that in mind.
