The ‘woman’ from the Black 2 Lost Item Sidequest is really a crossdressing gay man.

So basically, what are some LGBTQ+ relevant headcannons you have about characters from the series?

For me, what the title says. No woman can dress that feminine. That is clearly a man who only knows women through stereotypes dressing up as one. I think that character is clearly a flamboyant gay dude clearly wanting to attract other dudes, I just know it.

Not sure like who you mean exactly. When it comes to what you say, saying "no woman can dress that feminine"... that just makes no sense. Ever heard of things like sweet lolita fashion? You'd be surprised how feminine that is. And that's only a small example :)

There's really not any reason to believe that Yancy is "a crossdressing gay man". Ignoring for a moment the stereotype that gay men are mostly effeminate and flamboyant when that's not the case, yes women can and do indeed dress "that feminine". Like, I get the desire for there to be--whether openly or secretly--LGBTQ characters in literally anything, but this is really not a case of that.

Straight ally here. I came into this thread expecting it to be misinformed homophobia, so I'm really happy "cross-dressing gay man" wasn't code for "I'm a transphobe who doesn't believe in trans women."

I really don't think the OP said anything wrong regarding the stereotype. I mean, it seems a bit Farfetch'd, but it's so far from the worst headcanon I've seen. I currently have a gay friend who experimented in cross-dressing when he was in college, albeit, I don't know if he still does. I'll have to ask him sometime.

There was one openly LGBTQ+ student in my high school graduating class who went as a drag queen for Halloween every year. I live in Kentucky, where it's almost unheard of to have an LGBTQ+ classmate that brave. (I can't remember if this classmate was gay or bi, but his pronouns were he/him/his.) This particular classmate was also aware of the stereotypes of the LGBTQ+ community and seemed to believe some of them were (how do I put this?) benign. Like, I don't think I should fuss about a heterosexual writer creating a gay cismale character who reads Vogue, but I recognize that I shouldn't speak for the LGTBQ+ community.
