>>> The April DCC thread of doom <<<

Wow in the time i was at school there was a war. =O Well on topic, i have no role model, maybe cheese, but it's only string suit is taste. @_@ It seems that %67 of the populace of earth hate math. But i would readily give up my deep grasp of language arts, and all my awards just to be able to figure out calculus with ease. *sigh* It's a miracle, and a curse.

I'm good at Maths, but I don't really enjoy it, I get really frustrated when I think about one question too much and I can't answer it. But even so, I think if Math wasn't compulsory (Fat chance) I'd take it, simply because I will need to use it in the future at one point. D:

As for role models, I don't really have one. XD To be honest I don't think I've ever had a role model. XD

Obviously subtlety is lost on you, Andrew. All you need is one person to notice and sound the alarm in order for all hell to break loose. XP
Oh oh oh if I do it can you be that one person? Because I want to see what happens as sooooon as I can. So I'll just PM you and say "Hey Jack, I just killed it so go to the DCC and start the snowball. Thanks"? Will that work? XD

If you girls wanna fight, do it the right way.

I'll give you all a handbag each, and you can all take it in turns to slap each other with them.
Hey you're back. XD
About time you got back on Dawson, I was wondering if anything happened to you. XD

I guess if Andy says jump, you're ready to say "How high?".
And you think all the Staff are brain dead and do whatever I say? Is that what you're trying to point out?

Part of the reason I find fault with PC's staff is its ability to hold onto a grudge. I served my time, both times, and yet you still just don't let issues go. My record doesn't need to be wiped clean obviously, but I equaled out my 'bad things' with bans that you determined equaled what I was being banned for. It was an exchange, except that you don't treat it that way. Not ONE of you mentioned the thread I posted last month, located here.

Maybe its because if I said anything positive, it would make your anti-pokejungle bandwagon lose its wheels. And so not one of you paid attention to it. Smart move, if you're purposefully trying to find reasons to hate me. I'll give you credit where credit is due, the lengths this forum will go to keep bad memories alive is amazing.
Oh you should see Staff hold a grudge. Lets take me for example. I'm the meaning PC Staff member (I'm rude, mean, I tell n00bs off on simple things and so on).
Kimi, who said more then a few words about me on PC is on my MSN list and talks to me all the time. Kevin, went around posting porn on PC and got himself banned on PC, was on MSN this morning showing me vids of him playing KH2:FM+. Ty, JA, Blaze (who in the end went back to being on my blocked list, but only after given who knows how many chances). And the biggest grudge of them all, Abby. Yea you remember how that turned out, and now she's one of my best friends again. And that's just a few.

And you didn't learn anything from your bans. All you want to do now is say "Well my bans weren't right, I shouldn't have been banned for them" and so on. That's really taking the bans well.
And what, you want points for that thread? One thread wipes away all things? Yea sure.

And that is where you're wrong Paul. See, we don't have to find reasons to hate you. You come up with new reasons for us to hate you. Saying you hate my long posts, saying you demand to be a Co-owner in a group, saying you'll leave PC if the DCCs aren't fixed, saying your bans were unjustified (and pretty much saying your warnings were as well), criticizing the way we handle things on PC, saying we don't care for PC and so on.

pokejungle:
~ Has been banned
Also true, although it was not fair, nor fully justified
And that just goes to prove how little you know about things that goes on with the Staff. We don't ban just because we feel like it, or because we're in a banning mood. We have cause for bans.
~ Had his forum go anti-PC
No, look at mUnity for that. Owned by Geoff and Jake. MMC has never been anti-anything.
No, I'm sure it was MMC.
~ Got more then a few warnings
Pfft, who hasn't? Most members that are here for more than 2 years run into occasional problems.
But how many of them members has been banned? Not everyone that gets a warning or two ends up with a ban on their record.
~ Was involved in the anti-PC Wiki thing sometime ago
Completely false. Crystal Walrein said my name, but later retracted it. I was NEVER connected to that.
I'll go with Robo's post.
~ Has tried to undermine PC
Only when staff undermined it themselves by doing stupid things and wrecking the atmosphere.
Like? Lets point out some examples.
~ Threatens to leave when something doesn't go his way
The DCC return? That was a joke. Name another time?
Didn't look like a joke to me. So I'll stick with that.

Hmmm, had to respond to Andy's interesting-ness. I mean, with that attitude, I understand CW's point of view sooooo much better now.
Oh, CW. You mean that stuck up ex-Mod that thought he knew everything on PC and thought so and so should have done things differently only because he had a Mod/Member prospective about things? Said I should listen to n00bs, respect them, I should change my ways because he thinks he's the ruler of the world? That said he got paired to a Staff member so he could get Modded? That said we should have a smaller Staff only because ... forum over there has a smaller one? You mean that CW?

[/response]

Addition: After some thought, the fact that you'd add such a negative reply to me is really quite low for an Admin. I told you, in jest, that your long posts annoy me, and you make a list of negative things about me. Not only that, but you made a purely positive one about yourself, representing a very slanted and biased view, clearly shown only to degrade on my general image. You even used a completely incorrect fact, and misrepresented me. Neither the comment about your posts, nor the comment saying I was an older member than you, deserved that.
Oh it's quite low now is. You know what? I don't care. I'm not liked by many members, most if not all of the Purples, banned members, ex-Staff, and hell I might be on the "I don't like you list" of some of the Staff we have right now. Most of my friends that sees posts like that say I go overboard, look at Robo's post, he's one of my best friends yet he said it. So you saying "What you said to me is quite low" doesn't bug me one bit. Because I don't give a flip what you think about me.

My list was purely positive? Not purely, but mostly.
But it's all true. It just goes to show how we turned out so different on PC. You joined a few days before me, yet you've been banned before. Me joining a few days after, I'm a Staff member. No what went wrong? You also had that chance to get Modded, and promoted and so on. That list just shows a few things that has happened in your time and my time on PC.
Ok, how about this. Why don't you slap together a list of both you and me on the past 4 years. Listing both good and bad things?

And in fact, I was right in defending Nica in my opinion. Do I want to assimilate with the veterans of PC if they treat some newer members like crap? Two members ganged up on her, regardless of the opinions each one had. And you as staff did nothing about it and simply said that the truth always comes out on top. So, saying you act like a cynic Administrator that has no respect for this forum or its members is ok? Because, from where I'm standing, that's exactly how you come off as in your post(s). After all though, truth trumps all. Even if that truth is merely someone's opinion, in the aforementioned situation.
They didn't gang up on her, they just pointed out that post counts on PC isn't going to help her IRL. She isn't going to get a job IRL saying "Well I made ... number of posts on an online message board within ... number of months.". How hard is that to understand?
I did nothing because nothing was wrong. I will say this only once. Don't EVER tell me how to do my job as a Staff member. There is some truth behind that "purely positive" list of mine. I have been on the Staff almost 4 years. I damned well know the difference in things when it comes to the Staff.

Your immaturity is really disconcerting, not to mention you think you're acting as the 'mature' staff member in this situation. I know that when you cared about PC, you also took stands about things the other staff members did, and maybe your opinions weren't a majority. Was that undermining? I don't know, but by your definition, it appears so.
I'm not acting like the mature Staff member in all this. I am not the one that sticks by the Staff rules and goes by the book. I'm the one that gets out there and says things other Staff wouldn't dare say. I'm the one that gets out there and is on the rude side to members. I'm what you call the black sheep of the Staff.

You think I was undermining the Staff when I got into fights with Staff? The only time I got into big Staff fights was with a Purple. And I know I was on the right side when it came to them fights. I was on the side of the Modding Staff (who take care of PC, who keep everything in check), and on the side of PC in others. So until you know what you're talking about I suggest you stay away from that topic.

Maybe it PC would improve if the staff actually had a passion for their forum, and the members they're trying to serve. You're not in that position so you can enjoy it, you're put there because you accepted the responsibility of making The PokeCommunity a better place.
All I can say is wow.
I find you funny Paul, I really do....
What you think when it comes to the Staff is so messed up it's funny. And here's why. You think we don't care for PC? So we're just on the Staff for a fancy username color, a larger PM box, and able to see a few more forums? You think that's why we're on the Staff? You think we're here just so we can pick on the members? You think we're here just for kicks right? You don't know how stupid and ignorant you are Paul. Saying flat out stupid things like "you accepted the responsibility of making The PokeCommunity a better place.", right now you can't believe how pissed I am. You think you're soooo smart, and think you know everything on PC. Well here's a news flash for you Paul, you're not as smart as you think. On the contrary, it's pretty damn stupid to think the Staff don't know why they are here. If I didn't care for PC, I wouldn't be bringing up and talking about new ideas for the forum, I wouldn't be Modding new members, I wouldn't be on PC at all. None of us would give a flip about PC if we all were here just for some fancy upgrade. And if you truly think we don't know why we're here on the Staff then you're stupid, flat out stupid (there's no other word to explain it with, it's stupidly at it's most simplest form).
We don't have to be told by someone like you that we're here to better the forum. That's really good coming from a banned member, that's really good coming from an anti-PC member, that's really good coming from a member that won't listen to the Staff. You giving the Staff advice, that's real rich. You can take your holier then thou attitude and shove it.

=D Just backing up the not caring for PC thing--if Andy didn't care about PC, he wouldn't be on staff. He would have left with Jorge and I like he'd wanted to at one point. But he'd rather stay on and help because he's still dedicated to PC. But that's all I'll say on that matter. XP

Anyway, math. XD I like math. Sure, I hate my teachers sometimes, but I love the actual math. There's one teacher I just can't learn with, so because of that I'm retaking Calculus. I swear, I love being in a math class where I understand stuff so much. *_* Calculus is easily my favourite class of the year now that I'm getting it. And even the Discrete math class (with the crappy teacher...and the coinciding crappy mark XD) is fun...when I get it. :B Math is ♥. I'm majoring in it University next year, after all. XD

Through year 7 and 8 my math teachers were rubbish, they never made any sense and gave us work that had absoloutely nothing relevant to the topic we were learning... XD But this year we have a much better maths teacher, although she is quite snappy at times and whistles a lot to keep everyone quiet, but at least she can teach well, she gives us a heck of a lot of work to do in one lesson most of the time though D:

I had the most ups and downs in mathematics ever. Seriously.

I was crap at math until I finally had a teacher that taught me something I could learn, and from then on I picked up everything else. I started getting 80%+ on exams and apparently I'm one of the most mathematical people in my class. Whatever that means.

For GCSE I'm also doing okay, but my teacher told us to forget everything we'd learnt in previous years and do it his way, which is learning the understanding rather than tricks. So from 2005 I've basically been re-learning math.

In Junior school I was doing great at maths, but when I got into Secondary school my grades started going down and I was in 2nd set half-way through year 7, but before year 7 had ended I was moved back up to top set. I expected the top set teacher to be good at teaching but he wasn't very good D: I've managed to maintain my place in top set for two years. One guy in my class who didn't give a crap about the work didn't do ANY of the coursework so he was forced to move down a set which rarely happens at my school.

Wait, wait, wait, wait. People actually LIKE? Math? I was kidding when i said that the human populace has about %33 of people that like math. I honestly don't see what pleasures you can get out of math, i know that when i read a book my imagination is vivid (not so much any more thanks to my good friend t.v) and the words in the book just seem to put an added edge in there. With math, do you like it when there are pies on trains and there is (for some reason) a time zone mix up, and you have to figure out how many times a space alien named Sppoglflat has interlaced himself with his computers mainframe? It's not bias, since i do envy your number magic.

Regarding the subject of mathematics, everything up until AP Calculus has been more or less of a breeze. I need not elaborate any further.

Yeah, but you're a freak. You can take your math and your yaoi pairings and go to a school far away from me. =D XD

Someone want to explain what an AP class is? We don't call them that over here, I think. XD

College level class in highschool, or at least, that's the definition here. :/ I'll probably be taking AP math in my senior year, because even though I hate that subject, I'm ironically best at it. D:

But...but math is awesome. ;_;' I like it because there is no subjective way to look at it. Your answer is either right or wrong. Like, in English and subjects like that, the teacher influences your mark--you can't really standardize things like essay-writing because most teachers will have a marking preference and if you don't write the way they like, they'll mark you harder. But in math...there's a definite answer and it's all logic-based. I...just love that. XD;

AP classes are advanced classes that...double as university credits, I think? Or half-credits? I'm not sure. We do have them here though. All you have to do is gather a class together who wants to take a harder course and find a teacher willing to teach said harder course. It's not very common here, but the gifted classes at the high school closest to me do sometimes double as AP classes so...I dunno. I think my computer science class could've been AP since I think half our assignments came from an AP computer science textbook anyway. I wish I'd known about it before though or I would've tried to get it marked as an AP course or something. DX

AP sounds like a system at my school called "Gifted and talented" XD A bunch of students that have high levels in at least one subject are given extra work in the subjects they have really high levels in. I was talented in Art throughout year 7 and 8 but in year 9 the talented students in Art were taken out D: Ah well, less work for me. XD

The gifted program at my elementary school just shoved all the gifted kids into one class and taught them math a year ahead and gave them harder assignments and curriculum in Language Arts. That was...pretty much it. The report cards and education plans said we got gifted classes in everything, but those were the only subjects. XD; Dunno how they do it in high school though, since I went to an arts school instead of continuing in that program. :\

But...with your program, what would happen if you were really good at every subject? XD Would you just get extra work in everything and be required to complete it?

I kind of lost interest in math when I was out of school, but now I adore it again. :x It's easily what makes me feel the smartest out of all of my classes, plus...it's fun. XD; It all flows together. It's perfect logic that builds on top of itself. I don't see why everyone doesn't love it. D: Though I do find interesting how many girls are really good at it. There's a strong implied sense that girls can't do it. o_o; I felt kind of weird at first, being so into it, but I was pleased to find that my rival the second-smartest kid in my math class is a girl. So. Yeah. ♥

But it is interesting! You need it in almost any field, with the exception of perhaps writing and art. Besides, you'd think, being boys, you'd at least put some effort in to prove that you just can't do it. :x

I really hate to bring the current subject to a screeching halt, but I really resent being insulted on this forum.

I have tried time and again to apologise for this, but it always goes unheard. Especially when it comes to people like you. You may not remember well, but you may recall that your real reason for blocking me, as Erica can remind you, was that rule Marc and I thought of for OVP that prohibited discussion of the poll, which was meant to slow down 22sa's off-topic posting. I admit I shouldn't have approached you like that, but by citing annoyance you really made it look like you don't want to go over the situation.

I should make a confession now: I have Asperger's syndrome, and I am passive-aggressive. As such, I absolutely refuse to use email or the PM system to communicate with anyone for moderation purposes. That's something I need to get over, and I regret not having informed you before.

What really disappoints me is that it seems I was modded just because I staved off Steve's attempt to edit that Wikipedia entry and professed my love for the Community and staff without forethought, and also because I had a high and professional-looking standing at another forum. It had nothing to do with PC at all. I had less than 600 posts when I was modded, I was relatively unknown, and I had no distict posting pattern. The reasons I was given were activity in Other Voting Polls and 'knowledge of the subject at hand', when the fact is that OVP is exactly what it is...other voting polls. So what disappoints me the most is that I was misled by the staff into thinking I was being legitimately elevated when I was inadvertently using a system that I denied existed here.

And as for your quote, I understand your distinction between newbies and 'n00bs', but that's all you seem to blame things on. 'The n00bs. The stupid n00bs.' I was saying, when I offered a suggestion to remove the Simple Questions scheme, that it was a unique system that conflicted with the apparent second nature of most members that you can just post queries in the appropriate game forum, and that the scheme simply isn't working. Yet instead of trying to resolve it, you blamed 'the n00bs'. Unprofessional in my eyes.

And finally, as an administrator, I'm sure that there are many people who look up to you and respect you, and you have a responsibility to show as much respect when taking action — refraining from just criticising them and just giving them a formal reason for injunction.

I think since you've stepped out of line as an administrator, yet again, to defame me in the DCC, I have just as much right to hit back.

Gentleman, by that I mean Crystal Walrein and Arcanine, please cool down or you'll both be asked to not post in this topic for awhile, ok?
