I would say that the best game of all time (in my opinion) is Super Mario 64. The reason being that it introduced Mario into the 3rd dimension. The nearly flawless camera is also really nice, as compared to the camera in Shadow the Hedgehog. It also had some pretty nice graphics for its time (Rotating a 2D bitmap to make it appear 3D was great, to make it appear more detailed). The amazing controls and solid polygonal seams were a definite perfection in this game, as most games then had (and many still do) major flaws between the seams in the polygons, which allow for glitches. Finally, the clincher was a wonderful score of music and sound effects. Though they are mostly MIDI tracks, and Mario's voice was the only thing actually recorded, the music set the mood wonderfully and fit the environments perfectly.
