I agree with C dog, I don't think we can pull off Ludicolo AND Cradily without immense difficulty. I do however like our versatility and mix. If we could just substitute one of them.

Kind of an out there suggestion but what about Weezing, its only weakness is psychic.

A Weezing sounds good, but lets just check to make sure that it is ok by everyone else. Please post if you would like a Weezing instead of Cradily or Ludicolo. Please just say yes. I think we can make Cradily work, but i dont like Ludicolo.

actually cradily is probably the team's weakest link. ludicolo is still a great special wall if it weren't hit by air slash and sludge bomb, but cradily is absolutely useless and flat out fails as a pokemon.

Cradily is not a failure as a pokemon. You must have said that in a hurry or something. There are only two pokemon that shouldnt exist:

Shuckle
and
Purugly

Yes, but it is not much better than Ludicolo.
Here is a list of attacks that would harm it very badly:

Thunder Punch
Ice Punch
Sludge Bomb
Air Slash
X-Scissor
U-Turn

It is not as versitile as people think. That list up there contains some very popular moves. It is a wall on the Best Team Ever with a Base Sp.Def of 100, and a Base Def of 70? It doesnt even have an HP worth looking at. The only real reason we picked it was to counter Bulky Water and for Type Advantages. It would be great, only if it had better stats. I agree that we could do better than Cradily too. I know we are going around in Circles ooka_100, believe me, but can you honestly tell yourself this is the best team we can think of? I honestly dont think it is.

I already chose my best team ever, but there is one thing more that I haven't hear mentioned here.... it's called Flygon. It is a good quick attacker and doesn't have the best base stats but an adamant choice banded earthquaker can dish out a lot of damage. Then if you had to bring it back out you could switch to a dragon claw or something. I think it or aerodactly would make a nice addition. Oh and I have found the absolute ultimate pokemon. Arena trap dugtrio. think about it, switch to blissey, arena trap. no thunder waving and it's out. Also a gyarados counter. as well as salamence and tyrannitar.

vainz, trust me, cradily sucks. what's it good for seriously? you switch it in to take some hits but it's not going to force any switches. for a physical tank it fails majorly because it can't stop any of the best physical sweepers. metagross(meteor mash, earthquake), heracross(close combat, megahorn, earthquake), salamence(earthquake, flamethrower), tyranitar(earthquake), and garchomp(earthquake, fire fang, dragon claw) all laugh in cradily's face. cradily with its pathetic attack and rock slide hardly puts a dent on anybody(salamence with intimidate plays with cradily like its playtoy) so the physical sweeper are just going to stay in and continue their massacre of your entire team. cradily's also as good as gone if it's poisoned by toxic.

so seriously, what's good about cradily again? a supposed wall that absolutely fails at walling makes it a failure of a pokemon.

you know, at least ludicolo absorbs almost all special attack like they're nothing and can dish out special attacks effectively.

If you had read my post more thourghly c_dog, then you whould have seen that i think would could do better than Cradily. I was only saying that Ludicolo is not that good. Ok, so really, most attacks do Average damage to Ludicolo. Do you call that taking Sp.Attacks well? Plus it cant dish out Sp.Atts that well, i mean, 90 is better than Average, but that is about it. Sure it could hold off a Sp.Sweeper for a while, but to a point, it would end up like Cradily. It dosent really have the Sp.Attack to kill what it is tring to wall. It dosent even stand a chance against a physical sweeper, and i know he is not meant to take on physical pokemon, but it would be nice if he could at least take a hit from a physical type. I dont think either one of them is any good.

Cradilly is the weakest link. Its best filler move is probably Toxic which renders it useless against many Pokemon like Meta and Skarmory.

And whatever happened to Garchomp? I thought it was going to replace Salamence and it just sluffed off.

if ludicolo is facing a physical sweeper, the only move you should be making is switching the hell out. that's why i think we can do better than cradily and ludicolo. but for your information, ludicolo can actually force switches with leech seed, and has staying power with rain dish and synthesis and leech seed. forces switches while dishing out stab surf and whatnot allows it to do decent damage. in fact with swift swim and rain dance, ludicolo instantly becomes one of the best special sweepers in the game, that's if you want it to be. ludicolo is a way better pokemon that cradily. i use it on my mono grass team and it's awesome.

cradily is absolutely useless for the reasons i mentioned. toxic is also useless because metagross says hello and continues to rip through the entire team. heracross switches in and says thank you and takes out your entire team. garchomp with substitute and being resistant to weak rock slide sword dance up and rips through your entire team. the list goes on and on and that's why cradily is a failure of a pokemon ever created.

Hey sometimes the best defense is being offensive.

I no longer like Weezing ever since it lost its best move Sludge Bomb. Seriously why not Garchomp?

weakest link is an understatement.. i feel even failure is an understatement. unless your opponent is silly enough to switch in weak flying bug types to take rockslides, cradily serves absolutely no use whatsoever. don't forget heracross loves taking a good load of that toxin to give it a free sword dance on the switch in.

how did weezing lose its best move? give it bold instead of impish, and some sp.att ev's wouldn't hurt and voila. you can even give it thunderbolt along with pain split and haze. he's still one of the best hazers around. you don't want WoW on it anymore because heracross loves to switch in on it.

the difference in its base attack and sp.att is only 5... if you have good iv's on it then it hardly makes a difference.

Well Sludge Bomb gets STAB and now its special. : /

But seriously Garchomp can replace Crailly. It makes Metagross shake in its metallic shell.

i guess you didn't see my previous post but weezing's base sp.att is only 5 worse than its attack stat. it hardly makes a difference actually, if you have good iv's. some sp.att ev's would help but weezing's never meant to be a sweeper or anything anyway. trust me,weezing is still one of the best around, I know so. I love weezing all the same.

Well I dont like the big bag of poison. ^_^

Im just inexperienced with it. Well for this gen. I havent used on since G/S/C. ^_^

wow. I have never seen a person hate one pokemon so much. There is only one problem with your little Ludicolo. Here is your movset you have suggested:

-Leech Seed
-Synthesis
-Surf
-Energy Ball, Ice Beam, Focus Blast

How do you plan to take out a Togekiss or Yanmega? If the answer is Ice Beam, than how would you take out a Bulky Water? If that answer is Energy Ball, then now you have no Ice Beam. It doesnt have room to wall, and take out enemies like Milotic can. We are not looking for another Sp.Sweeper. The Biggest understatment you have made is that Ludicolo is one of the Best Sp.Sweeper in the game. You make it sound like it is one of the best pokemon in the game. Why isnt it OU? Because its not that great in real life. You can make it sound good on paper all day long, but that wont change the way it really works.

Actually Vainz a bulky water such as Milotic stand not a living chance against a Ludicolo. Depends on the set though but if its up against a Drainer/Staller Milotic wont win. Why because Milotic arsenal is ineffective against it. Save for Hypnosis.

Ludicolo was seeing lots of usuage back in the Advance generation. It's just the special and physical move split kinda weakened it a bit. But Ludicolo is better then Cradily.

@punishment, you're missing out on a great pokemon! weezing is awesome. one of my favorites(even though I have a lot of favorites). I have one on my team rocket team and it's the star on that team along with victreebell.

you need to pick a direction with ludicolo. you want a wall or a sweeper, that's something you have to decide for yourself because ludicolo is pretty versatile thanks to swift swim and rain dish.

For a sweeper, a modest ludicolo is very good. it's not OU but that doesn't take anything away from it. most of my favorite pokemon aren't OU's.

Sweeper Ludicolo@damp rock/leftovers/life orb
swift swim
modest
252sp.att 152hp 104speed
-rain dance
-energy ball
-surf
-ice beam

Now that's pretty good coverage right there, don't you think? it's like a poor man's kingdra.

As for Walling..
Ludicolo@leftovers
rain dish
calm
204hp/76spatt/228spdef
-leech seed/rain dance
-synthesis/giga drain
-surf
-ice beam
Not as good as 3rd gen because of air slash and sludge bomb weakness, but it's decent. Not enough to be the sole sp.def pokemon on the team but is a hella better than cradily.
