Bingo Challenge: Kanto - Monotype Poison

Spoiler:

- Started the game and got Seed, the Bulbasaur.

- Got Beeyonce the Weedle on Viridan Forest. It evolved into Kakuna before I even left Viridian Forest.

- Brock was as easy as you'd expect when you started with Bulbasaur.
Badges: 1 / 8

- Beeyonce evolved into her final form two wilds after Brock.

- I got Monarch the Nidoran Male on Route 3.

- I got Batman the Zubat on Mt. Moon.

- After an uneventful crossing, we managed to Seed to evolve into Ivysaur.

- Much like Brock, Misty was also pretty easy.
Badges: 2 / 8

- Beating the rival on Nugget Bridge was a much more complicated endeavour, still, it managed to let us evolve Monarch all the way to Nidoking, so yay!

- After getting to Bill, we get access to the Dig TM which means two things: Nidoking has a decent move, and Surge is screwed.

- Batman evolved during the S. S. Anne run. The rival was easy enough to deal with this time around.

- Ironically enough, I didn't even use Monarch for Surge. I just used the Sleep Powder + Leech Seed combo from Seed.
Badges: 3 / 8

- Rival at Lavender was simple enough to deal with - although it wasn't a complete curbstomp.

- Between Beeyonce and Batman, Erika was a joke.
Badges: 4 / 8

- I took the opportunity to get some useful TMs in the Department Store, so yay!

- Giovanni was easy enough to beat in the Game Corner. And doing so allowed us to evolve Seed.

- The PokéFlute was easy enough to obtain, letting us proceed to Fuchsia.

- Batman and Beeyoncé helped us deal with the Psychic trainers in Koga's gym while Koga was a mess. Muk got Minimize spam with two Hyper Potions. Urrrgh.

Although to be fair, my average level was like 36 while he had one Level 39 and a Level 43 so, yeah. Gotta get some levels up before Sabrina, lol.

Badges: 5 / 8

- When dealing with the dojo, Batman tries to evolve. So, due to the magic of editing, means he did.

- Silph Co. Rival was pretty easy actually. Neither was Silph Co. Giovanni.

- Beeyonce killed everyone except Venomoth, who was promptly killed by Seed.
Badges: 6 / 8

- Blaine's Arcanine was ... a bit annoying but eventually I managed to whittle it down with Sleep Powder + Leech Seed of all things.
Badges: 7 / 8

- Seed took care of every one of Giovanni's Pokémon. And we finally get Earthquake which is very nice.
Badges: 8 / 8

- The last rival battle before the E4 was actually pretty smooth for once. I had an answer for everything he sent for once.

- After that, we have the Victory Road and one last grinding session.

- Beeyonce took care of Jynx and Seed took care of everybody else Lorelei had.

- Seed took care of Bruno's Onix and Batman took care of the fighting types.

- Batman took care of Agatha's Ghosts and Monarch took care of Golbat and Arbok.

- A combination of Seed and Monarch took care of Lance.

- Monarch took care of Pidgeot and Charizard, Beeyonce took care of Alakazam and Exeggutor, Seed took care of Rhydon and Gyarados.

I'm pretty sure you can pick the first Pokémon to start the chain, as long as you get it before your 3rd badge. While I don't think Janp has explicitly said that's the case, there have been people doing it that way for a while now without any explicit complaints, I think.

(Also, Janp has said before you can use National Dex order if you want, in case that sweetens the deal for you.)

Just as a heads-up, you should usually follow the proper sign-up procedure.
