[News] The Black Myth: Wukong ‘No Feminist Propaganda, No COVID-19 Discussion’ Email Is Real

I learned they are from China. China has strict restrictions on people streaming it etc. It's likely being forced by the Chinese government. I doubt the developers like doing this. It is probably something they had to comply with to even become a game dev in China.

So I found this news article about this, and just gotta wonder what others think. Do you think these don'ts are reasonable?

There is just one entry in the "Do's" category: "enjoy the game!" However, there are five entries in the "Don'ts category," reproduced below:

  • Do NOT insult other influencers or players.
  • Do NOT use any offensive language/humor.
  • Do NOT include politics, violence, nudity, feminist propaganda, fetishization, and other content that instigates negative discourse.
  • Do NOT use trigger words such as 'quarantine' or 'isolation' or 'COVID-19'.
  • Do NOT discuss content related to China's game industry policies, opinions, news, etc.

and Forbes confirmed it is legit and real:

I'll just say this, the developers are delusional if they expect these bizarre rules to actually be followed.

It really does feel like they're just begging the people making content from the game to mention all of these things by sending an email like that lol. Maybe hoping to get a bunch of 'no u's from people or something. Otherwise they're just crazy.

Edit: Considering the info in the post below, I retract my second statement. Though I do hope that they're hoping for the first statement I made to happen lol.

1. tbh this one is valid
2. a pretty boring rule but its kind of valid since (correct me if im wrong) offensive language is racism,ect..
3. its obv that they made this rule due to how many bad things are happening in china that the ccp tries to cover up
this doesnt make sense
4. no comment
