Yeah it will be hard for Ash to get anymore Pokemon, since the writers will also want to give the classmates some new Pokemon as well.
Especially when you consider the fact four of those classmates are type specialists. And in terms of where their teams are standing, Sophocles and Kiawe have two Pokemon but the girls still only have one, so I really hope that Lana, Mallow and Lillie do get another Pokemon soon.
Ash finishing this region with an incomplete team is even more likely when you take the classmates into account.

Well ash left the kalos region with three in his team (four if counting pikachu). Ash could end up finishing alola with just 3 captures.
Since ash is going back home in Kanto so there might be a possibility that he brings in any of his old water type Pokemons
The issue is doubt he'll bring his old Pokemon back to Alola with him, since the writers clearly want to showcase the 7th Gen Pokemon.

With Ash going to see his old pokemon. (Although I am surprised Bayleef and Quilava didn't make an appearance) I think Ash will want to catch a new pokemon very soon. Although they may put it on hold until the new games come out. (I am glad they mentioned Larvitar by the way)

With how much Ash indirectly leads the other members of the cast, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a catching spree for the other characters due to seeing all of Ash's pokemon. Everyone is due for a capture other than Kiawe and Sophocles.

I do hope we have the girls get a second Pokemon soon. They have been badly shafted with captures at the moment, since every subsequent main girl's team finished with less Pokemon over the years. I mean, Serena was the worst with only three, the same number that Cilan's final team was.

Serena's goal didn't necessitate her filling her Team. Now that she's doing Contests, she will have the incentive to do so(which is why I want to see her again just for that reason alone). Maybe Lana will take Misty's Psyduck and teach it how to swim(not like Misty had much success). I always thought of Misty's Psyduck as a Pokemon representation of Ash. She got irritated with it, much in the manner she got irritated with Ash and the ironic thing is she came to love both. Before you say it's out of the realm of possibility, Brock took care of Vulpix so why not Lana taking care/training Psyduck? As for Mallow and Lillie, I don't know about those two. Mallow did show an interest in Gloom/Vileplume but her excited nature made her oblivious to the Poisonpowder. Lillie has unique tastes and her fear of touching Pokemon complicates things.

Misty always care for Psyduck and it is going to remain with Misty, Lana won't be getting Psyduck.
Right now i don't see any captures happening at least right now. The writer's will be focusing on the 1 Gen Pokemon now that Ash and his teammates are in Kanto right now.

Yeah. Lana won't get psyduck. Her and the others can get their own pokemon and not take pokemon from others.
It seems likely that there will be no captures until after we're back in Alola. But please writers, give the female classmates a second Pokemon soon because I don't want them to end their run with a small, non-existent and underdeveloped team, because the final team can impact on my opinions of a character.

Only if it doesn't affect ash's team building and development. I think Ash should take priority since he is more important. The companions will only be around for just alola so they don't need any more pokemon.
Sophocles and Kiawe both got a second Pokemon... why can't the girls get another Pokemon too?

They can but Ash is still the main character. If they get another pokemon then ash probably just have four pokemon instead of six since everyone would want all character's pokemon to developed.
The girls getting their second pokemon that has nothing to do with total number for Ash's Pokemons.

The more pokemon his friends get, the less on screen training and development his pokemon has. Either he has less pokemon in his team or the others do not get anymore pokemon.
I find it weird ash still hasent gotten a full party yet, what even will his last two be? i hope rowlet evolves, i realy dont get why they went slice of life route its honestly getting boring hope lusamine and the UB's dont let me down she needs to be psychotic.

Took Ash 76 Episodes in XY to get a full team(granted Goodra was in the wetlands at the time he got Noibat). It's only been 42 in SM so far so I think it's fair to say that Ash deserves more time before we can gripe about a lack of captures. As has been mentioned before, I think the female cast deserves a chance to catch another. It can be Kanto Pokemon for all I care but another Pokemon is another Pokemon.
As for Anabel, she was post-game content if memory serves, although it would be interesting for Ash to run into her again. Heck there are tons of characters I'd like Ash to see again but they can't go out of their way to bring back old characters(has to be a reason for it).
