While she's progressed off screen, most of this progress is being rushed because there are likely few Episodes left and they didn't think to... I don't know... evolve Popplio way sooner than 106 Episodes? I mean she got her Z-Ring back in the 30's for crying out loud. Could have evolved during Aether arc and then again during Necrozma or during the battle to save Eevee from Team Skull. Then when her "Water Tribe" master(er I forget her damn name ugh) returned in 106, she would have earned the Primarina-Z and then worked to master it by 123. That is how you do pacing. I mean Episode 123 was Sophocles focused but felt like Kiawe was being given the spotlight half the time. Then the 3 girls were supposed to be training as well but looked like they were relaxing away/purposely thrown into obscurity by the writers. The fact its confirmed that everyone is participating in the Tournament just means that the Trial Captains might actually do pretty solid, although the final 4 is likely going to be Ash, Hau, Guzma and Gladion.

For the rest of the series however, I don't think there will be too many captures or even evolutions. Torracat -> Incineroar is possible, although they're giving me Unova vibes with respect to virtually no evolutions(just 1 fully evolved Pokemon) and Kalos(just 5 team members... Poipole return?). Granted they have to showcase Melmetal at some point so Meltan evolving is up there. The rest of the cast won't be having any evolutions unless Lillie grows a brain and evolves her Vulpix into Ninetales. Won't be any captures either unless Lana gets Dewpider, Mallow catches another Pokemon(not Shaymin) and Lillie gets Magearna up and running(telling ya... if she gets it, I wouldn't be shocked if Lillie wins the Tournament).

pacing unfortunately isn't exactly the anime's strong side in any generation as every generation had an issue with it one way or another. it's frustrating, but i've come to kinda expect it at times like this when it comes to evolution and trying to get people up to where they want them to be for the league or whatever the end goal is.

that said torracat evolving is going to depend on whether or not ash gets the z-crystal for incineroar or if kukui is going to be the one showcasing it instead (maybe during a battle between him and guzma who knows). can't be too sure about lillie i think it'll come down to what snowy wants and yeah i don't think anyone else is going to be getting anymore pokemon. i think a new pokemon this late game isn't going to get much showcasing which is an issue i've had in the past and is one i don't wish to see too much in sun/moon (magearna is leaning towards this possibility since there would've been no point in lillie getting it if it doesn't get up and running imo).

just my thoughts on this hahah. lastly i can def see meltan evolving at least if not the other meltans will evolve into melmetal to showcase it that way. one or the other.
 
So apparently Torracat's not gonna evolve in the time travel episode after all. What is going on with this saga. 😯
 
agreed. its a solid season for the anime in my opinion. but certain decisions like that just doesn't make sense and makes me want to stop watching :(
 
Especially considering that unless it evolves, Torracat outright can't use any Z-Moves.
 
Aside from Meltan evolving, I don't think that there will be any more team changes this saga.

Omg.... I can't believe they did that! I love it!! LOL. Hopefully this means Ash will be catching old pokemon. Which was a HUGE thing I didn't like when learning about the new anime.
 
Looks like the rumors of Ash getting the re-appearing Gengar may be accurate consider one of the new titles that was just revealed on Serebii.

Honestly... I think I'd rather have him get a Tyranitar that is the Larvitar from the Johto series fully evolved. They made him OP. Just continue making him OP. Gengar is not OP. 😒
 
I heard a rumor Ash might be catching a Grookey and Riolu. We'll see how this goes, I definitely would be fine with him getting Grookey.

I have to admit... his team for this series is actually somewhat decent. lol. Except maybe Mr. Mime and Gengar I guess. lol. So... I'd say Ash is... slightly OP. Which is fine by me. lol.
 
What's with Ash getting canine pokemon lately? Does this mean he will get an Eevee(lution) in the future?😍

I pointed out on Twitter that he seems to be getting pokemon he should have caught in the past. Since he is catching fully evolved pokemon, he will probably catch a lot more.

That being said, I do think he will get Eevee. Will it evolve? Probably. Espeon would probably be the evolution he gets since Red had it and he is the counterpart.

I also think he will eventually catch Hippowdon.

1.I don't like Espeon that much like the other Eeveelutions but fair enough, thanks for the reply
2.I had to google that pokemon name you mentioned and yeah that would be cool too
