Serious The Class of 2020

[Bug]

Not sure how this thread is gonna go since the age range of PC is so large, but I wanted to make a space to talk with/about the graduating class of 2020 on here.

For anyone who's in this graduating class with me, how are you handling it? Today would have been my graduation ceremony. I watched the one that was hosted by LeBron James tonight lol. It was pretty cool and very well done. It's obviously not the same though. Whether it be my senior trip, graduation ceremony, prom, etc, etc that's getting canceled, every time a day passes where I would've been at one of those events the reality of it sinks in.

This is actually happening.

12 years of education just ended with nothing. No warning or last day celebrations. People I've spent at least the last four years with I might never see again.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just making this thread to vent. I would love to hear from anyone who's in the same boat right now.

It helps to be able to talk to the other seniors at my school, but it still feels somewhat surreal.

To anyone who isn't a senior, feel free to add anything that you'd like to the thread that applies. :)

I graduated in 2015, but know others who will be graduating soon and it really hurts me. :( It's even worse knowing people who don't already have job experience will be graduating into a huge economic depression, especially in many of the bigger cities (like NYC) that lost millions of jobs because of this.

I'm so sorry you have to miss out on these exciting events you've been looking forward to. Maybe there can be efforts to host small versions over video chat or something? I know some people have opted for that method to at least feel a little bit better about it all.

I graduated high school back in 2008. Most of the people I know moved elsewhere, but 2 of my fellow classmates aren't with us today. Lost one shortly after graduation, the other was back in 2015 and both were friends of mine. That is how life goes after graduation, you might never see people again that you would have loved to still be there in a persons life.

I wish you the best man and congrats to being a graduate, but it sucks that it came at a time like this when everything has gone down the drain.

Yeah absolutely. I'm extremely thankful that I've been able to keep my job during this time and that comparatively, a lot of things are still really good right now. Keeping perspective has been big in getting through this.

Also yeah! We're holding out hope that we can do some sort of ceremony even if it's in the late summer. We'll see.

I'm really sorry to hear that, that's horrible and I hope they're in a better place. I'm thankful that I'm still able to communicate with the people in my class even if it is temporarily only through texting or video chat. Reading your comment helped me realize that I should be taking this time to reach out to my friends and get closer with them so thank you.
