The world needs to play this game so they know the difference between FACT and OPINION. Jeez, guys.

"This song sucks" = OPINION
"This whole genre sucks" = OPINION and unfair generalization

:/ You're entitled to your opinion, obviously, but at least say it like "I think this song sucks since it doesn't appeal to me". Reword it so you don't sound like a tool, but if you attack a whole music genre? Of COURSE people aren't going to respect your opinion because you're trying to state that opinion as fact. Last I checked, none of you were the world's leading authority on music so stop stating your opinions as fact. It's like you're all TRYING to start internet arguments and then you come whining in this thread when people jump to defend the things they like.

Bonus complaint: lol people who still think it's cool to listen to things that aren't mainstream piss me off. GUYS I'M THE COOLEST EVER BECAUSE I LISTEN TO SOUNDTRACKS AND SCORES INSTEAD OF RAP AND PUNK POP OR WHATEVER YOU KIDS ARE INTO THESE DAYS. I'm different. I'm edgy. :(

The artists of the rap genre have brought this generalization upon themselves for making nearly all their songs sound the exact same. Some rap songs are catchy and have deeper meaning, yes, but most songs? Nah. But obviously you're right about generalization when criticizing something for most subjects.

And I find most rock music to sound exactly the same these days. What's the difference? It's pretty much all engineered and guided by the music industry itself anyway. Indie bands may not be, but they will be when they get scouted. :( I just... don't care. If I like the song, the sound, the lyrics--something--then that's that. I'm not gonna go around saying something is a lesser genre because hey, some people like it. It's not just music, either, I see it all the time with video games, TV shows, etc.

ANYWAY I FORGOT THE REASON I CAME INTO THIS THREAD TO BEGIN WITH EARLIER:

So tonight I got home from a long(ish) day at work and I'm lying on my bed relaxing when I get a frantic phone call from my mom. Copy-pasting from LJ:

*phone rings*
"Hello?"
"Oh, good, Erica."
"Hi."
"You have a pilates class at 7 at the community centre."
"Huh?"
"I signed you up for a pilates class at Wednesdays at 7. You'll need to bring that yoga mat we have and since I won't be home in time to drive you, you'll have to walk there."
"...huh??"
"I'll pick you up at 8, since I think that's when it ends. Have a light dinner before you go there."
"...what on EARTH are you talking about?"

:| YEAH. So my mom signed me up for a pilates class without really asking me. She'd breeched the topic a month ago or something asking if I'd be at all interested in yoga or pilates and I gave a "maybe". Thus I didn't expect that phone call tonight and had only a short while to find this damn yoga mat, suitable clothes, and eat dinner. Luckily my dad was able to give me a ride or I would've had to do all that in under 15 minutes. 8/ I mean, the class itself wasn't that bad save the part where I'm dreadfully out of shape ahaha but PLEASE GIVE ME NOTICE and TELL ME WHEN YOU SIGN ME UP FOR THINGS, MOM.

So now I'm going to be all sore for my doctor's appointment tomorrow, I won't be as well rested because I was already losing my one sleep-in day and to top it all off I have to work a 12 hour day on Friday baaaw. T_T;

I'm annoyed with the fact that when you go to McDonalds, they automatically put pickles and unions on your hamburger. I mean serious, what if you don't like those two? I constantly have to repeat myself with, "No unions and no pickles" and it gets tiresome. If I just say, "I want it plain", then I get no ketchup and mustard. You can't have a hamburger without ketchup and mustard ): But you can have a burger without unions and pickles.

Songs made me think of something else. I'M SO TIRED OF LOVE/BREAKUP/SEX SONGS.

Let's talk about life. Let's talk about happiness. Let's talk about everything else that exists in the world. Sheesh >_>

I'm annoyed by little kids who come into the playcentre where I work, trash the place, and expect to get off scot-free. They come in, dump all the toys on the ground, pop the heads off the Barbie dolls, and then run off with their little toy trucks and act like they're innocent and suddenly my coworker and I are the maids and we have to clean up their crap. They don't get away with this, obviously, and they're made to clean up the place, but it irritates me to no end that five year olds would act this way. You would think they'd know better than to completely trash a place. >_>;

...Okay, wow. I never thought what I said would actually get people this upset. You're all forgetting the point I was trying to make back in that first post, and just tearing me and everyone else apart for the fact that some people might not like a specific genre of music.

Back to the original point I was actually trying to make before people just completely misinterpreted what I was trying to say; don't judge people's entire lifestyle based on what music they're listening to. You might not like people who try to act different, while I may not like people who try and act the same. That's completely irrelevant; This isn't really even about music, it's about people stereotyping others based off their interests.

I love rap! It's all rap-elicios!
Anyway, I can't stand people that still listen to Green Day. Gah! It's not 2000 anymore, people! Sucky bands should die with the years, but NO. People just HAVE to be different, and like what nobody else likes. People that are nerdy and different for the sake of being different piss me off. I hate ALL people like that!

This was the original post I was speaking out against. It could have been anything else in the world other than music. I was just trying to make a point that you can't control what other people listen to. You listen to what you enjoy, and they'll do the same. I personally don't like rap music, whereas the original poster here apparently does (...never heard anyone else describing it as "rap-elicious" before XD;), so I was just using that as an example.

Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have just came out like that and said "All rap sucks," but i guess I was just trying to use the original poster's own point against him =/

:( This set me off but, like I mentioned in the second post, this happens in everything, not just music. I'm just so sick of the double standard people set--one second they're telling everyone that "all ___ sounds/plays/is the same" and then when someone else says the equivalent about THEIR favourite music/movie/game genre, they get all pissy about it and don't even realize they do the same damn thing. 8|

Sorry if I misinterpreted your first post. They need to invent a better internet sarcasm detector or something, idk.

Also I think someone else is in Nikko's account or something because the last post of his I replied to was apparently edited out because someone was in his account or something. 8/ Who knows.

Yeah, Unions don't sound too good on a burger, and neither do Onions. :x

I don't like when I'm lonely. lol ._.

unions onions.

......Lol. I hate it when people point out obvious mistakes that really aren't that obvious until they make it obvious ):

You know what annoys me: double standards.

My entire high school career, I was watched like a prisoner by my parents. Every move I made I received ten million questions. "Who are you with?" "You're not really with a guy are you?" "How come you have an 88 and not a 95?" "No, you can't go there." So I resorted to lying and sneaking around (which I hate) to do what I want. Even now as a legal adult, I still get questioned. However, with my younger brother, it's the opposite. "Where are you?" "With my friends." "K." Seriously, they're also letting him get his ears pierced while I received the whole "NO GUYS DON'T GET THEIR EARS PIERCED! NONONONONO."

I hate being the older brother sometimes. -.- And living at home.

Stereotypes in the media. I don't CARE if they're doing that on purpose; it pisses me off. I HATE how they rarely have people with glasses, hide blemishes, make the girls think they have to be pretty, ANYTHING of that sort.

I completely agree. I also noticed other things:
Being smart is looked down on. The smart people are usually nerds who have no life and are ugly and dorky-looking. The cool guys are the delinquents who are sometimes dumb jocks.

I have another complaint, although I may have ranted about this so sorry if I did:
You post something important, that you want other people to read and everyone else ignores what you say and it's even worse when someone says the same thing and they act like that someone is the first person to bring it up. Might as well not even be there to post because no one will notice you. And when you have this curse, you end up with a lot of weird "friends" who have little to no personality.

I hate double standards too. >>; It pisses me off that whenever guys talk about girls as if they're objects, you get huge cults of feminists on your ass, but girls are free to talk about guys like they're objects as much as they want. I don't really care whether a girl talks about me like I'm an object, though, it's just the double standard I hate.

And as for that, my parents started being like that but it got much better as the years went on. I used to have to call my dad as soon as I got off the school bus at the corner of the street and be on the phone with him until I got home as if someone was going to abduct me on my little side-street at 2:30PM. :|

Now it's just like "I'm going out." "With who?" "A girl/a friend/friends" "Where?" "The movies." "K." which isn't hard at all. :D

I was watching a DVR recording of Game Makers yesterday about Nobuo Uematsu (composer of the music in the Final Fantasy games, pretty amazing stuff. It's the only video game music I have on my iPod.) Then Tommy Tallarico comes in and compares Mr. Nobuo Uematsu to Madonna and Britney Spears! But if you watch the rest of the episode, you find out that Tommy does have alot of respect for Mr. Nobuo Uematsu.

oh god, why didn't I get a grinding of m3h gears from this?

I hate when people think that all people who are Gay/Bi have AIDS.
seriously. WTF.
Just because someone likes thier gender, does not mean they have a sickness.

I also hate when there is ever a thread about Gays, GOD FORBID IT BE ABOUT ANYTHING!
Gets closed because some psycho gets into it.
Like, for example, someone mentions that they're gay when someone asks them.
SUDDENLY, WE HAVE A HUGE FLAME WAR JUST BECAUSE.

I'm a christain.
I'll always be that way.

But I hate it when someone who thumps the bible instead of reading it,
comes into a disscussion and trashs everything about gays and thier ways,
or basically anything that the bible tells them to hate. >.<"

I'm Bi myself, and if I wind up with a guy,
I know I'm not going to get AIDS.

wanna know why? Because there is a thing called a condom.

which brings up another thing.
WHY THE HELL DO KIDS DON'T KNOW WHAT A CONDOM IS?

We just gotta have sex and make unwanted babys >>
Then a lot of the time, the guy who got the girl knocked up leaves,
'cause he basically says "screw this".

DAMN IT, have a decent bone in your body.
only have unprotected sex, you better be damn prepared for a baby.

i agree 100% with u,why do people think that being gay is a sickness?
i'm not gay or bi but i still think its wrong to treat people that way
how do i understand?
i used to be best friends with someone gay and he decided to leave the school cuz too many peeps mocked him...i felt so angry that day,i went to the guy that mocked him the most and BURNED him,he started crying afterwards...
and now i think that people that pick on others are:
-weakling
-pathetic lowlives
-fools who wont accept that they're wrong

I HAAAAATE it when somebody has problems and just sit there and complain for all eternity without ever trying to fix them. They just sit there and whine like the answer's gonna fall right out of the sky!!!

The media. I dislike the media and all the crap they put in magazines and TV shows. Who gives a bunk about what celebrities do in their personal lives? And I mean really personal?? I would hate to be a celeb in America if it means that papparatzi [however the heck you spell it] have to butt in and mention every single little meaningless thing you do and post it in a magazine, turning it into a big hoo-ha.

I also hate it when I think up a nice long reply to a thread, then come to the reply box and forget half the stuff I was planning to say. >: (

I have so many complaints its not even funny.

1) High school in general. 3/4 of the kids in high school are stuck up snobs (especially the girls. No offense.) It is like they live to make peoples lives miserable. People know better than to mess with me but I just feel so bad when I see another kid getting picked on. But I do love it when the kids that get picked on can't take it anymore and kick the bully's arse.

2) When people that are younger than you call you a kid. I am walking in the hall and this guy I don't know comes up and says Hey kid, so and so. It pisses me off.

3) 6-12 year olds. Grow the eff up. The damn world doesn't revolve around you. Especially on Xbox Live.

4) People who absolutely love football and then call baseball gay. Baseball is America's pastime and it is the most popular sport in the world (excluding high school though.)

5) The wait time that it takes for a moderator to approve a thread. I have never gotten a thread of mine approved, and there was nothing wrong with it. Therefore, I have never gotten my RMT thread up.

6) Myspace addicts. Its and ar-tarded mail messenger with pictures. Get over it and get a life.

That is all I can think of now. I am sure I will have more later.

People who go on Myspace 24\7 then at school ask you if you have one. Then when ou say no the say our a loser. I mean i'm the loser? They can't even get off the bloody site for 10 minutes

Okay, I'd like to express my hatred for terrorists, because they have nothing better to do but to terrorize our daily lives.

Plus, all they want to do is strike fear in the minds of others, and that's just totally and utterly wrong.

I hate them, too, but understand that they're just morons convinced there's this mission for this fake god they have to carry out, so in their eyes, they're not terrorists.
