188607. I especially like Devil Survivor and TWEWY. Really fun.
But in retrospect, have games like "Gears of War" and "Halo" not been successful? What about the new StarCraft? Or a lot of new Blizzard stuff? What about that "Milo" game being produced by the guy from LionHead Studios?
It's a different audience they market to, and just because it's not your taste doesn't mean that it should be thrown out the window.
I have nothing against innovation in general, but the Japanese can't pull Western elements for the life of them, so they should stop trying to wow everyone. The only Japanese RPG that has Western elements implemented well is Demon's Souls, and only because they had very little to do with JRPGs(not even environments) and were more dungeon crawlers than anything else. The Japanese gaming industry releases hits and flops just like the American companies do. I think they're struggling with trying to find something new- and using American games as inspiration. I don't think that's a bad thing, since Kingdom Hearts was such a huge hit, but I just think they gotta try completely innovative things.
I never did. I do like many elements of American games and find many of them do be very fun, I blame Japanese developers for trying to put those elements in their games when they had little experience with it. I know expanding your horizons are good, but the Japanese are just fine where they are. Just look at Dragon Quest IX. Every site will have given that a higher review than Final Fantasy XIII, because it keeps the better elements of JRPGs.I don't think you should sell the American companies so short.. or blame them for the "recent decline in JRPGs," either.. but.. I guess that's just my thought on the matter.

You should make a new theory about it.188623. Ah, the frequency of me dying in one of my dreams has gone up significantly since school started. I wonder if there's any implications from that.
