You should look at my avatar and signature and you'll discover that Cheren is the coolest of all the main series rivals cos he's smart, and not dumb or have that "dark side" that most rivals possess.

Actually in a way Cheren has his "dark side", or rather a side he has to overcome.
He's quite naïve, and while being clever and calculating he still seems to believe that power is everything. He also seems to be prejudiced easily.
