Well, whenever I make a short post, it tells me it's too short and must have 25 characters. Anyway, I started a Solo Run challenge with platinum on an emulator, and I started to fight a cricketot, it was using bide, but I wasn't completely thinking and used scratch (with chimchar). I got it in the red, and then I realized my mistake, it OHKOed me.

Oh..I had a very long long lonnnnng wtf moment last night as I was finishing Platinum. I was after Regigigas in Snowpoint Temple. I brought my best Pokemon, I knew it was at lvl 1, so I figured I'd just throw ultraballs at it til I caught it. So, I do that, and it decides it doesn't want to stay in an ultraball. I got exhausted and frustrated. Escape-roped out of there. Flew to Veilstone to buy Tm False Swipe. But NONE of my Pokemon could learn it. So I had to trade over a Gallade (lvl 20) from my SoulSilver. So I do that, teach it false swipe, go all the way back to Regi, used false swipe. And Regi still would not stay in the ultra ball. It was so frustrating. Took well over a half hour to finally catch it. And he nearly killed my Gallade?! I was glad to finally be outta there.

After that I went after Heatran...and that was a pain. I had to keep going back and forth back and forth from the survival area to stark mountain. So many times I memorized the way there.
 
I have a WTF moment from Platinum. I was playing through the battle tower, I was doing pretty well as well and I came across a Lapras... Lapras used Sheer Cold and got the OHKO on two of my Pokémon! 30% accuracy!! So I sent in my final, my Suicune. I didn't know what to do, so I started Calm Minding, trying to power up and it put my to sleep with Sing and used Perish Song...
I died a little inside that day...

Oh, I have another too! This is from Platinum as well. I found a Shiny Regice! I spent ages weakening, trying to get into the red so it was easier to catch. I succeeded! I then spent the next 20 minutes failing to catch it with Dusk, Ultra and Timer ball after another... It then ran out of moves and struggled itself to death

same thing happened to me,except mine was shiny twice in a row XD lucky i know XD
 
i was clonin MY shiny beldum,cuz i traded away the other one by accident to the wrong person, so i clone it, and bam i got 2clones for 1, but the second clone didnt exist, so i had to clone it again lool
 
I have a shiny horror story...

I was playing through Soul Silver and the safari zone had just opened up so I figured I'd check her out. I was wandering through the zones and I found a hypno, I thought to myself. They're pretty rare, I'll catch it. So I did, out of the battle I took one step and was in another battle... A pink Hypno... In the Safari zone... The worst possible place to find a catchable shiny! When I found it I was lying on my couch. So natch I didn't want to scare it away, so I just threw Pokéballs at it. First one, shook twice and escaped! I start to sit up a bit now, worried it's gonna run away. 2nd ball. Didn't shake at all. The worry is growing! 3rd ball, shook once, twice, three times! Escaped... I am not sitting upright at this point! Hypno is still glaring back at me. 4th time is a charm, surely? Apparently not, breaks out before a shake and Hypno replies with a swift

I've never had a normal Pokémon hang around this long in the safari zone, let alone the all and all stress a shiny brings! I was on the edge of my seat at this point (starting the encounter relatively relaxed). I saw this as my last chance, he was sure to run after this ball. I went for thee ol' Gotcha method I'd heard about at the beginning of Pearl and Diamond (You say "Gotcha" into the mic when the ball flashes yellow and you get Apparently a 30% higher chance of catching the Pokémon). So I threw and Gotcha'd and actually managed to catch it!

Pokémon shouldn't be that stressful!

I don't know if it works for sure, but it did seem to help there! lol
 
Pretty sure the "Gotcha" thing is up there with pressing Down+B for a guaranteed catch. :P

i always do A+B +Down+Right lol
it helps on non-legends& safaris the most
 
I have two:

going against a Gliscor in the Battle Tower and it using Guillotine effectively twice in a row.

and using almost 30 Max Repels before running into a shiny Shinx after a chain of 40
 
I have a chaining story as well.

On Pearl I was catching a load of Trapinch cus I wanted a strong Flygon, so I figured I'd chain for it. Unfortunately they live in a sandstorm, so I could hardly see! I managed to get to a chain of 40 on my first Max Repel! So withing 250 steps I'd chained 40 Trapinch. I got the shiny after about 5 more repels.

I've heard somewhere that somebody caught all three legendary birds in platinum by saying gotcha and holding select. I have tried it and it either doesn't work or I didn't say it loud enough.
