Well, seeing as we're making a topic out of this... (Deja Vu, by the way)

I have... 'insecurity' issues (I guess you could call it) and I always think people take me serious when I'm actually only kidding... so, I always add 'XD;' or lol to something. I might even throw in a ';>' or ':>' from time to time (even though I still don't really understand exactly what they mean... I just use them as smilies.)

... ;>

Same with me except I use haha just so people don't think I am serious or jump to conclusions. I hate it when people do that. ^ ^

Yeah I agree. And no Zet. Is there something wrong with my post every time? Because you always seem to....have something to say about it.

And yes Malyka...it does.

no, you always seem up tight about grammar and all that but you fail to realise that you're doing it to yourself as well, also with that said, how can you misuse "lol" ?

Well when it isn't in the dictionary so I suppose it isn't a word so Firefox doesn't recognize it. I have the same problem.

It isn't, but I'd love if it were in the dictionary, also Roflmao seems to be another one used commonly.

It should be in the Dictionary if you ask me. All it would have to have next to it would be "Laugh Out Loud"

"Laugh out loud' wouldn't even be in there, because it's three different words, that all have different meanings.

It would have to be simply "Lol", with the meaning being explained.

Please elaborate on that, Zet, I'd like to know what image you're talking about.

Oh, okay, I have also played Basketball, but I didn't referee it however =/

Yea not a big meaning. xD

Also it's more about not knowing how to change the subject… while staying on topic.
Shame Zet took the image off. :<

Aww, I'm 5 years outdated already?

I think that definition could use a lot more elaboration, wouldn't be too hard to make it a complete sentence. "LOL: An acronym which stands for Laughing Out Loud, often used in text-based forms of conversation to show the user's amusement. The acronym is usually used in lowercase, and when used in uppercase, usually denotes a stronger emotion than the lowercase form."

Lol? To me that's an acronym that has become a word like any other (along with rofl, lmao etc) through constant use — RADAR being my primary example of such a word.

I love how they throw "Used in E-Mail" in there. Emails are like so.... 5 years ago. These days the new things are blogs, forums, chats, and IMs. No one uses emails anymore. XD
E-mail has its points though, this site is no different to any other in that to register users must supply a valid E-mail.
