I'm such a softie I would of found a way to deliver to her anyway. Even if I had to drive it to her myself.
I'm currently a cashier at a lame grocery store, but I have an interview Tuesday with Target, so hopefully I'll be out of there shortly. Target is my favorite chain store, so I hope they hire me. If they don't, I have jobs lined up at Dick's (a sporting goods store found in the northeast) and Toys'R'Us.
And the lowered drinking age in Ontario, the closest Canadian province to me in New York is one the reasons why I love going there so much.
Yay, we can totally swap Target terminology if you get the job! All the GSTLs are like, leaving the store by me right before the Black Friday rush. Us regular cashiers are so screwed when they do. XD But it's really fun, anyway, you'll like it as long as the staff there is balanced between nice, young, old, creepy, and control freaks. The latter two not so much.
If I start working at Target, I'll probably be working at the service counter. I just can't wait to deal with angry people trying to return stuff they carelessly bought without considering what the person wanted or people secretly returning crap they pretended to like but didn't really want. :D
I worked in Guest Service today (they make you call them "guests" instead of customers, as just kind of a thing. I think it's nice, Target is a classy big-chain store.) It was so much easier than cashier, but then at noon Amy's like "Ryan, we need you up front" so I was stuck on register for four hours. At like 2pm, this other guy Chris looks around and he's like, "so we have like, seven cashiers and only one customer. What...is going on here?" haha. I'm supposedly going to be over in Guest Services mostly though, because our Front End leader Nikki said she liked my schedule. O_o I don't know what that means exactly, but hey, GS is so much nicer and this nice old lady Diane taught me everything. Yay.
Any job that involves customer service is going to suck, because no matter what people are going to find something to complain about. Nothing about their shopping experience is ever perfect, and you have to deal with it even if it wasn't your fault. I get so mad at people and want to just yell at them and say it's not my fault, but unfortunately "The customer is always right"...even when they're wrong. XD
I'd rather work somewhere where I didn't have to deal with people, on the phone or in person. But I don't think there are any entry-level jobs like that that exist =(
Yay laundromats! C'mon, that wasn't fun to you?
And by fun I mean large girls stealing from the cash register and not following directions and really pissy old people with dry cleaning orders. Haha, I also hate talking over the phone, I can never hear anyone because people will talk with the receiver away from their mouth, then they get annoyed when you need something repeated. If you have a complicated question, come in person not electronically. Blehh. And you should probably apply to the Big Red Bullseye when you get home. Juuuuuust sayin'. You look good in red, tigah. ;) (LOL)
Ughh I can't function without food in my stomach in the morning. I usually end up eating lunch simply because I get up so late, but when I got up for school last year, I always had a massive bowl of cereal. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is win. XD
Ehh, I'm one of the weird folks that has like, morning sickness if I eat too early. For instance, in high school I could never eat breakfast unless I had a nice shower and a full nights rest. If I was at all tired or my shower was too short, I'd have to like toss my apple in the trash on my way out when my mom shoved food at me because I could never stomach anything before 10:00am. Of course I'm starving by lunchtime, though, today I worked 10-4 without a lunch break because it's not over 6 hours so you only get a 15 regular break. X_x Gotta make sure I tack on that extra half hour.
Speaking of dreams, I pretty much only dream about work so quite often I'll wake up trying to scan an item. Then I realize everything's dark and I'm like "LAURINDA (boss), THE POWERS OUT!"
I work too much XD
Haha, I wonder if that'll start happening to me. Sometimes I wonder what I sound like when I say "Have a good day!" because some people are like "well thank you!" and others are like "mumble...bleh.." I think it's just them, though. XD
