I actually bought the book in a wholesale store instead of online. XD;

The main reason I wanted/got a credit card was so I could shop on Amazon. n_n

For the longest time I... didn't actually want a credit card. XD; I'm so paranoid about racking up debt with it. :( I only changed my tune this year when my parents' credit card expired and my PayPal was left with no credit card assigned--meaning everything I paid for online had to be done with eCheques which take forever and nobody accepts.

(By the time I DID get a credit card, my parents had their new one added to PayPal but the damage was already done. XD;)

Lol, I can't order stuff online anymore since my oldest brother (that owns one), isn't on Iceland anymore, but when he gets back I'm gonna order stuff like there is no tomorrow, but he's been rather strict on my ordering in the past so I'm gonna give him some money in advance, I only have to wait 7 more months until he comes home, then my ordering online can begin.

My dad had me set up a PayPal for him yeeears ago and never really used it so I added my bank account to it and switched it over to my name when I was like 16. <_<; Now it's pretty much my PayPal and my parents use it sometimes.

My parents used to be pretty strict about my ordering online too; I'd have to literally beg to do it but now they just chide me whenever a package arrives for me. XD;

Oh wow, really? I didn't know about that.

Not surprising she decided to cash in on them, though. :|

In a way, it sort of is. She has enough money to never have to sell a copy of Harry Potter or to never work again. Why would she need more?

Meh, I guess greed is natural human instinct.

She was likely pressured by her publisher as well; though at least she can claim it was so that a wider audience could appreciate the tales--whether it's the true motive or not.

True. It'd make sense as Bloomsbury lost a lot in profits after the Harry Potter saga was finished.

You forget, she auctioned of a copy of her new book when there was only 7 for charity.

She is very rich though.

Mmhmm. I wouldn't be surprised if they've been gently pushing her for more books (whether HP-related or not) since even before the last book was finished printing. :P

I'm pretty sure she's currently writing a detective story for an older audience but I doubt Bloomsbury would be happy with that. I know adults have read Harry Potter as well, but the majority of the people who were Harry Potter's target market were children. Rowling's not gonna have as big an audience if she's not gonna sell a children's book, you know? And younger children will want to read her newest book and will probably be devastated when they hear it's not suitable.

Yes, but she auctioned it for charity, did she not?

When she's finished and it's ready for release, I bet that target audience will have grown up. ;D

I can't see them being too upset about it; so long as she's still writing and not retiring, it's good news for them.

I was at the midnight release of the 6th book with a friend. While everyone was at Borders we went to Barnes & Noble haha. We actually managed to get the boxes the books came in, one for each of us and one for his brother. XD Looking back, I'm not sure what excited us so much about that, but it was still fun.

Lol....I didn't feel the need to wait all the way up till midnight to get the book right when it came out. I always got them within the week of their release...No big rush =P

I stayed up all night reading the books when I got them at their midnight releases. ♥

For the last book, I didn't finish it in time--the day it came out was the same day as the open house tour for everyone accepted at my university. So I was exhausted the whole day, not to mention I read it the whole way there and during presentations. My poor friend who ordered the book online with one-day shipping didn't get his before we left so he kept looking over and spoiling himself. XD

XD I read mine within a day. My friend with the box idea? He waited a year to finish. Not even kidding, I have no idea how you do that after going to a midnight release, hahaha.

I was on Rowlings site today, and tiptoed over to the "rubber gum room"... the "do not disturb door" was open. I haven't seen it open ever before XD

... too many " in post.

I read all seven in 5 days with sleep. I really love the books movies games and i kind look at fan stuff that includes forbidden topic stuff. Also anyone laughing at my sig or is it stupid?

How do you wait a year to finish a book you'd got at midnight? Utter madness, that is. :|

If I got a book at midnight, I'd stay awake to read it no matter how tired I was. XD;
