LolXD, I'm so gonna get me a credit card.I actually bought the book in a wholesale store instead of online. XD;
The main reason I wanted/got a credit card was so I could shop on Amazon. n_n
For the longest time I... didn't actually want a credit card. XD; I'm so paranoid about racking up debt with it. :( I only changed my tune this year when my parents' credit card expired and my PayPal was left with no credit card assigned--meaning everything I paid for online had to be done with eCheques which take forever and nobody accepts.
(By the time I DID get a credit card, my parents had their new one added to PayPal but the damage was already done. XD;)
Oh wow, really? I didn't know about that.
Not surprising she decided to cash in on them, though. :|
She was likely pressured by her publisher as well; though at least she can claim it was so that a wider audience could appreciate the tales--whether it's the true motive or not.In a way, it sort of is. She has enough money to never have to sell a copy of Harry Potter or to never work again. Why would she need more?
Meh, I guess greed is natural human instinct.

Mmhmm. I wouldn't be surprised if they've been gently pushing her for more books (whether HP-related or not) since even before the last book was finished printing. :PTrue. It'd make sense as Bloomsbury lost a lot in profits after the Harry Potter saga was finished.

You forget, she auctioned of a copy of her new book when there was only 7 for charity.
She is very rich though.
When she's finished and it's ready for release, I bet that target audience will have grown up. ;DI'm pretty sure she's currently writing a detective story for an older audience but I doubt Bloomsbury would be happy with that. I know adults have read Harry Potter as well, but the majority of the people who were Harry Potter's target market were children. Rowling's not gonna have as big an audience if she's not gonna sell a children's book, you know? And younger children will want to read her newest book and will probably be devastated when they hear it's not suitable.
I stayed up all night reading the books when I got them at their midnight releases. ♥
For the last book, I didn't finish it in time--the day it came out was the same day as the open house tour for everyone accepted at my university. So I was exhausted the whole day, not to mention I read it the whole way there and during presentations. My poor friend who ordered the book online with one-day shipping didn't get his before we left so he kept looking over and spoiling himself. XD
