Hat--Hate Misty? *shakes uncontrollably* How could you hate Misty? She was the epitome of cool. I so think she should of been the main character.

I dunno... she just never grew on me? XD; I miss her, though, she was the best out of the three female protagonists, as much as she annoyed me~

I agree, dubs are phailing these days, well kinda, lucky star trailor is english looks fine ;D I gotta get into that show, anyways, true, Subtitles are better....
I beg to differ. For the most part, English dubs are actually much better than what they were a decade ago. Lucky Star in English is just the latest in a long, long line.

Most of the earlier dubbed anime were decent; DBZ, CCS, PKMN (season 1-2) and a few others too, but nowadays there's no passion! No drive! It's all hollow money if you ask me.
Wait, what? You actually liked the old English dub of Card Captor Sakura? That's really something. Yes, it was perfectly sound from a technical standpoint. The real issue with it was the editing, but that's neither here nor there.

Hollow money, my ass. Geneon went under, and ADV is cutting back significantly in order to stay afloat. Their respective voice actor pools have just as much drive and passion, if not more, than their Japanese comrades, but apparently it's just not enough for them; try as they might, their efforts are unappreciated at best and outright maligned at worst.

You all had to vote for so many things in Febuary MoTM

I never knew how hard it was to count the votes. No wonder Harmony backed out.

How can you say that a modern day dub like Lucky Star is decent, if not more, in comparison to the likes of say, Dragonball Z? The VAs in DBZ actually strained their voices for their respective parts and gave the characters a whole new kind of personality, in respects to the Japanese version. You could argue that the fact that they differed the versions so much is enough of a reason to beat on the old school dubs, but I believe that despite this, the DBZ VAs were a lot better than these newer adaptions. I mean, Goku's Japanese voice is too high-pitched for my liking, and I grew up with Sean Schemmel, so I guess I'm only basing this on personal bias, but what else do I have?

Ah, yes, the controversial CCS dub, my grande le forte. *shot'd for random gibberish

Anyhow, yes, I agree with you, the CCS dub failed in comparison to its original, and just so you know, I'm a sub supporter, not a dub one. And yes, it was ruined with all the ridiculous editing, the killing of all the pivotal relationships, and the fact that whole episodes were actually cut out, BUT, if it had anything worth praising, it did have a pretty damn nice soundtrack.

And I'm not too familiar with the technicalities of how much current VAs are being paid, tbh, I was just trying to sound dramatic. ^^; But what you're saying is; all the current VAs are just as driven and passionate about their jobs, but are being down trodden to the point where they cbf and half-ass it? If so, that's messed up.

EDIT: @Zanacross: Hahaha. I actually started doing it myself, cause I thought; "what the heck, it might be fun", but after I finished page one, I was like DX.

haha, I actually have the DVD for Pokémon: Mewto Returns sitting right next to me, as well as Chrono Crusade. I just borrowed them off a friend though, but I haven't watched them yet. What's odd though is that he has a few shelves of anime, varying genres, some of them even classic series - and then there's this random Pokémon DVD lol

Murderface: clearly you haven't begun puberty yet :P

Don't go off topic, and don't make assumptions :/ Harmony has her own reasons for not being able to tally the results (that she informed Chibi, Jeff and myself about), and as thankful as I am that you're willing to do this for us, you shouldn't just assume that she backed out. Thanks :)

lol so true, Misty was and is a classic and always will, misty rocks, and Also I agree up a couple of posts, the movie are clearly outdoing the anime these days with the various plots...

As for me, I have some DVDs, some tivo records, and some......cassett videos XD

I'm more a manga person, myself, so I've fallen behind on the anime. I get most of my anime via my little sister watching it on TV/DVD. Personally, I haven't got much against them, they just don't interest me. They new voices aren't bad, but sometimes just don't seem to click quite right. (ex. The Darkrai movie was on the other day, and at one point in the towers, Ash sounded super whiny and Dawn was very snobby sounding, when their expressions didn't really seem to fit.)

I don't really watch it, though, so it isn't much of an issue for me. (I'm happy with my USA Network and Discovery-branch shows. Woo.) So I suppose it's just moot, then.

Other way around in terms of anime to manga

Im on "VS poliwrath" or something, I think it's either 22. or 66.
I cant even remember xD Anyways it was with the E4, and yellow..

And Im so far behind and I wanna catch up but cant find a good place for it @_@ And the thread for it here has Bandwitch exceeded and I cant read it :\

So Im lost and cant go forward there v_V

Well, assuming you're wanting it in English...Amazon will get you through the Yellow saga and Singapore is your best bet for entire books beyond that. There is also onemanga, but that's incomplete, as well. I've heard that the DP manga will be released by Viz around this April, though. It's exciting. <3

Yeah I heard it's into DP now, wow im behind..
Ive only followed through onemanga, and it does take a while through chapters :\

Ps. hey your a floridian, sweet, me too ;D

Try getting something like Hellsing through there. (At least the chapters are usually shorter, but there's a lot more!) And, I wouldn't fret about falling behind. Reading some of the more thorough summarized versions will give you a good idea of what's going on in-between what you can see.

(Isn't Florida fun? Been a little nippy, but I can't complain. Highs in the 80s last week while friends contend with snow days.)

Yeah ive read sume summarys though I never want to spoil anything

---
Heck yeah it is, Im currently up in virgina for vacation (snowcountry) but wow im beach sick, T_T I want to go surfing! xD but alas it should be fun learning how to snowboard soon ;D

See, I'm rarely bothered by spoilers. I try not to ruin things for others, but I just like knowing things.

Oh, snow! You've got me beat there. I've been to Missouri twice in my life, during winter each time, and seen a square foot of filthy, melting slush. That sounds cool, though -- good luck with snowboarding!

Well Im different, like if a game is out and I dont have it, i may check IGN for one review if its worth buying, but I dont want to spoil it at all, and try to be surprised ;D

Ive always been an east coast kid, snow is usually the place though, I moved to florida this year, and ive been to seaworld like 10 times already xD lolol

Ah, well, I rarely buy non-Pokemon games, since most of my extra money goes to books. XD

Oh, you just moved here recently? Oh wow -- I'm a native, and I've only been to Sea World once (as a kid), and EPCOT once in the past year or two. I tend to check out smaller areas. I don't know if it's still open, but "Gulf World" was a neat little small-scale Sea World-like park.

Well last game I got was Endless Ocean which was definitly one of my favorite games ever

Yeah I moved to Daytona In the summer, and loved it ever since, no more freezing virginia waters, and finally some good surf...

Ive been to all the disney parks once since the moves, sea world countless times, and now Im in virginia to get some snowboard lessons at wintergreen. So yeah quite a big adjustment xD

I'm kind of weird with game spoilers. When a game is still in the planning/development stages, I love reading any information I can get my hands on. But once it's released in Japan/here/wherever? I'll run from any kind of information that comes out until I have the game in my hands and I've beaten it. XD;

I've only been to Florida twice. Both times for Disney World. XD; And if I ever go back, that's probably the only reason I will. *dork*

XD; I'm the same way, Erica. I hate when people spoil things just to be cruel. ;___;

Haha, yeah. That's why for any REALLY big thing, I try to become a hermit. XD Like, when the last Harry Potter book came out? I tried SO hard to finish reading it that night. I picked it up at midnight and read all night but it wasn't quite done by the time I had to go to an open house at the university I'd been accepted to. D8 So I was paranoid someone would spoil the end for me while I was there.
