Practiced with buddhists, shintos, taoists? :O That's way too cool for school.......... ^^

I see what you mean, but I still think it was very good to get some kind of basic understanding of different ways of approaching religion in school years. Was probably good that you weren't too young when you encountered religious things though. When I was, like... 5, I went weekly to a group of christian children and some priest persons, and they completely brainwashed me for a long time.....
That was what I meant with me realizing things in middle school. All of a sudden, from our religion class, I understood that there were other views that were equally realistic/crazy as mine.
That's cool, I'm glad people can do that. Now that i'm in college, i've been encountering people that are way too firm and extreme in their beliefs... It's like they believe that their way is the only way... And everyone else is wrong. A lot of the problems in this world are caused by closed minded actions and extremism. But then again, maybe i'm closed minded in the fact that i think we should be open minded... I hate pardoxes... I actually am thinking about practicing Shinto a lot lately. It was cool to experience what my ancestors used to do. And it can be combined with other religions just like Buddhism. Zen Buddhism would be perfect for me i think, but i don't like to get bogged down too much by doctrine and strict adherence to one belief.

I've had doubts about religion and the beliefs I was taught to have in school since I was very young. I remember in Grade Two, asking my teacher all these questions I had 'cause I doubted everything they taught us in Religion class. But that's a different story altogether. xD;

In Grade Eleven, next year, World Religions is a mandatory class for me. I'm looking forward to it because I really want to learn about all kinds of religions. It truly does sound interesting to me. ^^

Too bad the teacher who teaches it is a huge jerk.

Haha poor teachers back then.... ^^
That sounds like a good class you'll be taking. Don't let that teacher get you down.... damn, I hate that some subjects in school that should be interesting and even fun, can become totally drowzy lousyness if the wrong person is put to teach it >.< Like my biology class. That old man is in love with his plants. Bet he believes they have more feelings than us students...

And I was thinking about that paradox too, before you wrote that, Shadow ^^ Tricky... but I guess it's hard to be open-minded at all cost, ey? That's life.

That's why i wish there was some sort of universal truth, like a god or something, that could give a definate answer... but then where's the fun in trying to find the truth yourself?

Haha, I hope my "rant" wasn't causing you to think that about me Fable ^^, my apologies if that's true.

Thinking what of you? I don't think anything of people ^^ Hm. I mean, I don't judge people.

This is getting so deep... I get the urge to write a big essay on this and hand it to my future Religion teacher instead of taking the actual course. I'd probably get a pretty good grade, judging from all deeepich thoughts I have in my head right now..

What i meant to say, I was hoping you weren't thinking that i was falling into that paradox or I was taking part in that hypocrisy. I don't know how to exactly express that in words, but obviously not if you don't judge people! lol.

I love deep talks about faith and religion. It's an interesting insight to a person that you normally wouldn't have in everyday conversation... although we are on the daily chit-chat... yo. My old religion teacher would've loved if someone would've turned in an essay like that just randomly.

haha.... well, I probably wont.

Yay, I think you and me should get a prize now, for being the deepest speakers in the DCC like, ever... ^^

They could call it the "Fable-Shadow Award: Turning the DCC into a Serious Thought Provoking Discussion, when other people just wanted to complain about Religion Teachers" ;)

Although if you ever get around to writing that essay, it would be interesting to read.

So... new topic anyone? or shall we continue down this path of seriosity and thought provokingness? (yes "seriosity" and "provokingness" are not real english words)

Yay, I think you and me should get a prize now, for being the deepest speakers in the DCC like, ever... ^^

Actually, you two aren't, without bothering to even read the posts, I know (well, when I'm not around, there tends to be) there have been deeper conversations before. XD;

I'm just going to take your word for it because I don't feel like going back 5618 posts @_@
Please excuse our faulty assumption. *sigh* and I thought I was going to get a nice plaque or something. *shrugs* Well let's see, study for my finals that're in 8 hours or go back and look for these deeper conversations... choices...

DCC's have been going for many years, so this thread alone won't prove anything really. XD

You want to be congratulated and stuff for that? Well, that was a very deep and meaningful conversation, I hope to half-view more of them. ;D

The deeper conversations so are more important.

Yeah this one time at DCC, Scarlet and I had a conversation, so were's my award? lolol xD

Nah, awards would make this place to stiffy I guess.... :\ I like this place just to relax and talk, and that's why I failed to speak much in this whole religious stuff, as I try to block that kinda talk out when I come to PC, same with politics and such...

So I don't think anyone should get awards for deep discussion when that really can tough some chords with other various people around this forum, so I disapprove of the notion :\ Sorry to say.

I think if it's a conversation why can't they all be important? Yes that was a good conversation by you all, nice reads, but awards could make this place a little too much... Asformentioned about place to relax and such not worry wether I'll get some award.

You ain't getting a reward... yet.

Yeah, it's the same for me, actual stuff relating to IRL I want to ignore. PC should have a discussion thread to relate to current issues and friendships on at PC... though the DCC does basically cover that, as well as member fanclubs.

I prefer funny conversations over serious ones... less words. XD

Agreed, funny conversations are...well..funny and good.

Well thought out ones are good too, but when it's on a topic I tend to not care for while at PC, I dont look to into it then.

But you know, reading well thought out conversations on something I wish to learn, say competitive battling.. then Ill listen and note many many things in the conversation. But saying hmmmm...reading a well thought out convo on elections or something, then I wont bother to read it honestly.

Funny conversations equal laughter, and laughter makes people happy, therefore, funny conversations > serious conversations. Serious conversations need two people that either think alike exactly or two completely different views, if they're in the middle of those, it's no point trying to have a serious conversation because the debate won't be interesting.

Serious conversations/facts... that's what makes OVP boring. XD;;

Conversations about battling are over-used, well, mainly on MSN in those group conversations where they won't shut up about Pokémon and I just wanna complain.

lawl nobody cares about elections... though, some strange people do. I only care when it's deciding the prime minister. XD

Well indepth competitive battling convos, say about the tier discussion over at smog interest me greatly, I love hearing from minds that know the game probably a whole lot better then I can understand.

And yes I agree funny over serious, laughter always makes the day great, same goes for chocolate[/mmmmmsogood]

Convos I dont understand I dont listen much to either, say One time about a mario kart one on MSN, I coudnt follow and was just boring so I left, so yeah understandable convos are good, laughter convos are great, and when you need to learn the ways of something(which is at sometimes) thos are also important and good overall in my opinion.

And shadow of time, we just disagreed with awards and such, nothing too serious bro ;D

... wow, i think that one small joke got totally blow out of proportion... and apparently sarcasm doesn't translate well on this forum... haha.

Yeah, try some other forum if you plan to use sarcasm seriously. XD

That's just boring though... to me.

Chocolate so has nothing to do with laughter O_o

I find it hard to leave convo's because I feel like I'm missing out on something or some important thing I can use against people... though I don't do that... normally... "learn the ways of something?" yeah, I don't get that.

okay what I was trying to say is Chocolate makes my daty, just like laughter, thus they both "make my day" ^_^

I too find it hard to leave convos, but it's not to use it against them or something it's to understand the point of view they come from in the future or what they are like.

And what I ment by the ways of something I meant in the view just like competitive battling discussion, learn the "way" of it... understand? ;D

Certain people being online makes my day, and so does no homework/assignments to be completed. XD

Using it against them could help later on though, like if you got in a big fight with them... of course, nobody is planning to get in a fight with me right now as far as I know.

... I still don't get it. D:

sigh, okay I;m Learning the "way" - as in learning the game better, understanding it more, and overall increasing my knowledge of the game towards skill, get it?

And yeah I guess you could use it later on ina fight, but I never get in those anyways, so yeah no need for that with me... ;D
