I think facebook is the myspace for those who are seniors in high school and older. It's less childish (minus the annoying apps...) and it has a different feel from myspace. It's not a popularity contest to see how many random friends you can get, it's more about keeping in touch with the ones you want to keep in touch with, something you don't really know about or feel like you need to until you go away to college and then you're not surrounded by people you know, but hey maybe i just have security issues.

Not to start an arrguement but how can you say that Myspace is less childish then Facebook? Facebook has little games on it and a superhero app ._. I hated the whole popularity aspect of myspace though, so thats why I hid my friendslist :P

Well I did say in that post "minus the annoying apps..." and then went on to make the argument that myspace (in my opinion) is a popularity contest, something I attribute to being childish. Whereas in my experience with facebook is more of a tool to keep in touch with people you want to keep in touch with, because I'm no longer a child and get to see my friends everyday. I don't want to argue either, that's just my opinion, sorry if it conflicts with yours. :D

I dont really wish to argue either :P
Well myspace helps me keep in contact more cuz facebook just isnt that popular here, as Fable stated, popularity of the two varies from place to place.

Indeed, but I think it's also an age thing. You may end up switching to facebook in a few years (if your age is actually 15). I didn't switch from Myspace until i was 18. Just about everyone in college has a facebook (at least here in the US), whereas MySpace is no longer the medium to do social networking. In high school, Myspace tends to be more popular. At least that's what i've observed.

In our High School, anyone who is caught with a Facebook account is treated differently, for the worse. I get what you are saying SOT, and in our High School, 1 out of 2 kids have a Myspace. Its really popular in Essex County for some really wierd reason.

I agree with SOT, you'll most likely switch over to Facebook as you get older.

I personally can't stand Myspace, it's just so... dunno. I just don't like it at all. I have a Facebook which I use occasionally, but I don't really care for it either. I prefer things where I can blog entries and stuff, like LiveJournal \o/ LJ is my favourite social networking site out there.

Who needs MySpace or Facebook anymore? We have the new vB >;

I used to be an Xanga fanatic when I was younger though...if anyone knows what Xanga is anymore. XD

I have a Facebook, but I rarely use it...I think I still have some friend requests sitting there that are over a year old. :x I just don't like how it splashes what every one of my friends is doing on my main page, because then I realize that it's doing the same from me on theirs and augh. Do not want.

I know what Xanga is, though I never had an account there. :P

I had a Xanga a loooooooong time ago, but no one else had it, so I stopped using it. I have a MySpace and a Facebook, but I'm rarely on those either. You can catch me on LJ, or now, the PC SpaceBook. :>

lol
I've never heard of Xanga.. XD;
But I have an account on Bebo, and Myspace.

I think I still have an account on Xanga from like 5 years ago, not that I remember the info to get into it.

The profiles remind me way too much of social networking, except that it's missing a few things. XD
But it's still pretty cool this way~

Bebo > Myspace. Just had to get that out there.
*now is shot to pieces by Myspace fans*

I kinda like them, although I won't be doing a new theme for it every month.

On side note: I'm finally out of the irritable 80s whoo!

I like the new profiles. They're pretty sweet. And Facebook > Myspace. I used to love Myspace but it pales in comparison to Facebook. Where else can I view pictures of my friend's and I's college shenanigans.
Facebook is definitely far superior to MySpace in just about every way.

I don't really like those kind of sites.. I don't see the point in them. But Facebook is okay to me, because at least you can play games on it with other people.

Same. As awesome as it is for finding indie Japanese music, I've always disliked MySpace as a social site. I don't know enough about Facebook, but the times I've gone there I've never really liked it. I tend to stick to sites like Blogger and Live Journal.
