Meh, I don't really post it NU/W because I feel like I'm saying the same thing over and over. There's only a certain amount of ways to tell somebody hello and ask them to read the rules ;-;

*fail*

I've become quite lazy in the last few weeks when it comes to forum posting.. I'm trying to change that here! (oorah)

The welcoming threads really are easy to reply to, it doesn't need much thought or anything. ^_^'

Meh, I have the same views as Aere. The welcome board is just a post-boosting zone full of "Hi, I hope you read the rules and enjoy!"

Although it is a really good place to find embarrasing posts for blackmailing XD

If people think it's post adding spam why does post count go up when they post there?

Well I post a lot in new users. I don't care about post count "counting" there, so I wouldn't mind it not counting there.

Anyways...
I just like welcoming people to the forum, I don't see it as a bad thing to say hi and welcome, heck maybe even make some new friends.

Though, I am trying to stop welcoming a lot though, as some people may judge me the wrong way for it I guess, I don't know. *shrugs*

Me and OT, and OC, are attracted magnets. T_T
And every now and then, I fill the whole page in PG.

Yeah, I actually see you posting a lot in there. Also a fair number of reports, at that. Five on the latest page. :O

Yeah, I know the rules pretty well there, mine as well report the rule breakers...

Anyways, I'll be cutting down on posting so much, and probably welcome like you too, just to people that may catch my eye or put some effort into it.

I just like hanging around new users I guess. ;P

There is nothing wrong in welcoming people. The problem is that some people see that board as that, a post boosting zone, and simply C&P their posts, showing no respect for the new people, and end up making us think bad of the good people <_<

But heck, that board is necessary, it gives the new people the feeling of being really welcomed.

Yeah, reporting posts is fun. XD
Of course I've only reported once on PC, but they are fun. And you get to leave these really cool messages like,
"Spam, and evading Four word limit." XP

I don't really see reporting as fun. Feels good for justice in the community though. ;P It is interesting to see whom doesn't follow the rules as well... and another thing to see how many posts get overlooked due to PC's rush hours.

Seriously, I tend to notice stuff a lot more at night when many of PC'ers are asleep then awake.

Though I accidently reported the same post twice once, in the morning then at night, just fergot. xD One of the worst feelings ever, I thought Loki was going to come after me. x:

Anyways, yeah I'm okay with generic welcomes too. Though I like personalized welcomes more. And mhm....it is annoying when people just post for count or to get to the limit to link.

I've only gone in NU a couple times, but never that often, only because I can never think of what to say without it sounding the same as what I said for someone else. :/ I mean, it's nice to welcome new users, and I do do it sometimes, but... sometimes it's hard welcoming them without sounding generic.

This may sound a tad bit mean, but, I only welcome them if they have a decent name. XD;
I hate being so stereotypical. D:
*Shot*

I agree with Scarlet. Its kinda impossible to be original when greeting new users. All you can really say is "Hello and welcome". How we each will phrase it will be different but the message is always the same >.>

Yes you both have a point.
The only way you could get around that, is if you had contact with that person outside of the Pokecommunity.

I think I've talked to one newbie outside of PC, but briefly.

I just like meeting new people. :>

Yuzix
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them.
I just avoid posting in their welcome threads if I don't like their name.. v-v;

I'm kind of like, that, too, but not so much with names, more with the title of their Welcome Thread. If it's just "hey" or "watsup pc," I won't really pay much attention, but if it's, like... something original, I'll be more compelled to say hi. :D

Sometimes I'm afraid of going there 'cause I've gotten a lot of PMs from noobs asking me to be their friend. D:

Nat.
I hate it when they blow up your PM box with PM's... XD;
It gets really annoying. D:
