Hm, will have to give it a try on DS. I played some Yugioh games on GBA emulators, wasn't overly impressed with the graphics, and everything moved rather sluggish. Granted graphics isn't a selling point for a game like yugioh. You're right about mouse clicking ! So much easier and quicker !

Worldwide Edition was the only good GBA game, really. DS games don't look all that much better (the ability to do polygonal graphics is really only used for special summons), but in general the DS games play well because of the ability to use the stylus for everything. I'd recommend any of the World Championship series! (Nightmare Troubadour is okay too, but it has outdated card lists, a bad case of Engrish, and is hard to find.)

Haha! I don't mind the Engrish, I've become an expert of sorts. XD I need to get a DS first, never thought of buying one until Black/White came along and rattled my foundation a little bit. Even more reason to get a DS now. I was struggling to think up more reasons for a 3DS other than pokemon. Do they have any tournaments or such in World Championships?

I haven't played a World Championship game in a couple of years so tournaments may be a feature by this point, but the gist of the WC games is a combination of a story mode and "free mode" where you battle opponents with set decks and of varying difficulties and use points from your victories to purchase packs of cards. I also believe there's online play, but I imagine it's so hacked by now as to be unwinnable unless you cheat too :p

Yeah, i find computer opponents not quite up to standard with my expectations....prefer honest human opponents. We had a league for Joey, The Passion, and league rules, set of banned cards and everything, you would automatically lose the match on any attempt to cheat, such was the hard line the community ran by. WC sounds perfect if it offers a decent online play mode.

Drakow's suggestion seems the best for online play atm.

I've been wanting to play the Final Fantasy series, but I don't know what system to actually buy. So I might just ask around first.

You can play IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XI, and XII on a PS2 through PS1 backward compatibility for IV-IX. I'd recommend skipping the PS1 port of IV and VI, though, because of horrible load times. Get a GBA SP on the cheap and try to get the cartridges of IV, V, and VI.

Thanks! But my dad has been nagging me to get a PS3, nothing more, nothing less, unless it's an Xbox 360. Can any of those be plaed on PS3? Also, is XIII VS for PS2 or PS3?

Well, that was taken care of quickly :o

Sorry to disappoint further, but FF VS XIII won't even be out for any systems for well over a year or more x_x It's PS3 exclusive currently but there's a good chance that it'll also be on 360. Your avatar is Noctis, isn't it?

Danggit. Always ruining my fun ;;

Well, there's a good chance I'll be buying a PS3 just for that game then :x

Yessir. It is!

Come to think of it, getting a PS3 might not be a total loss for now. If you have a credit card or your parents will let you use theirs, you can always download digital versions of a few Final Fantasy games on the Playstation Store. I know that you can get the PS1 games for $10 each, and you might also be able to get the PS1 port of the SNES games by this point.

You can also download all of these onto a PSP if you'd rather save money on the console XP

Are they good quality games? (Both online download and PS1 game)

Nahh, my PSP is all wacked up and I just sold my other 4 :/

My dad has offered many times to buy a PS3 for me because he wants me to be a 'normal' kid and play video games, so I'll just take him up on that offer. Does PS3 get free internet?

Evening all.

You don't have to pay for ps3's online service like you do with xbox live.

"because he wants me to be a 'normal' kid and play video games"

Buy VN's. lol.

Yess! Finally I win at something :D

VN's? Violent nerd? *shrugs* o.o

I seriously want a DS remake of V and VI because I still haven't beaten the final bosses in III and IV DS. xD

Better start saving for a 3DS or NGP T_T

There are plenty of good downloadable games on PS3. The PS1 classics section has great stuff like Suikoden, Legend of Mana, Xenogears, and much more, and there are a lot of nice games that are made just for the Playstation Store. Critter Crunch, Flower, and dozens of other things. There are deals almost every week, and there's also a subscription program called Playstation Plus that's $50 a year and gives you a selection of free Playstation Store games each month and discounts on lots of stuff in the store. The selection isn't quite as big as Xbox Live Arcade, but the Playstation Store is worth it just for the downloadable PS1 stuff.

A parent that actually WANTS their kid to have a video game system? XD I pretty much had to have a nervous breakdown before my parents bought me an N64 when I was younger :p And yes, PS3 has free online gaming, built-in wifi, and an internet browser (though the browser's pretty bad.)

I shall do that! But what happens if you happen to 'reboot' or clear your PS3 hard drive? Do all the games disappear? Or are you able to download them onto memory sticks?

It's weird I know, I grew up reading, only reading. No computer, no games, just books :x
