Is it just me or is "Serif" and "Palatino Linotype" exactly the same?

I can't remember why I joined. But since it was 2005, it's probably safe to assume that I joined for no reason at all. I was like that back then.

I used to frequent Trade Corner when Twilight was mod the first time around, and they had CME and Horizon there. Trading definitely ain't what it used to be, especially with events. Now a frequent Pokemon Anime. Kind of funny how some people join for one thing and get into another thing.

I can't see Serif on my computer for some reason. But from what I can tell, Serif and Palatino Linotype are different. The latter's serifs would be bigger, as the former would be just small ones on a basic font.

I love font talk. <3

I never really remembered TwilightBlade as a moderator when I used to frequent Trades heavily back in early 2009. I do, however remember Color Me Evil and Glaceon_ though, which is weird. :P

Rom Hacking has always been Jake's playground, and the no-man's land for anyone else because it's like a combination of the tech forum and all the Pokemon forums combined with the messiness of the old DCC all at once. I do browse there but only in the Hack Showcase to look at the stuff that at least got beta out XD

Let's just say that PC is actually pretty famous at rom hacking. There's actually a few LP's in youtube and I think Pokemoshpit channel got a LP of Jake's own hack of Rijon adventure.

I first joined for the Pokemon section when RS just came out in the 202 era. Given how I was an ex-staff member for the Pokemon section, obviously I still like the upper boards XD I just don't have too much time to go through every board there.

As for Mandibuzz and Coffy, Coffy can pull off calm mind sets extremely well though even without reliable recovery. Mandibuzz suffers the natural stats to pull it off that well. Even after a double in sp.atk, it's just poor and got nothing but dark pulse + HP Fighting. It's decent coverage, but then you lack defensive investment and with poor speed... you can't have both its natural bulk and sweeping abilities. You can get breakable armor to try to hopefully get hit twice and not die, hoping to get +2 speed and +2 sp.atk to sweep? Ehhhhh... Mandibuzz just much better as mixed wall or pseudohaze spammer.

Been out of the loop and haven't played much though so I haven't really went back to strategy forum XD Why do you guys make it sound so bad, what happened to it? =(

I don't even remember Glaceon_ that must have been when I was trading at Neoseeker/Gamefaqs/PE2K a lot. What's all this Mandibuzz talk, it's all about Braviary!

I actually did train a Mandibuzz a while ago based for a Nasty Plot set. It worked efficiently in the Battle Subway. I did train mine however with Substitute since I didn't have access to Roost. But all in all, it was a good set. It's subs wouldn't break even after a Thunderbolt to the face. If you do run a sub set, you only need enough HP EVs to get a 101 HP sub, so you can then indefinitely survive Seismic Toss, then churn the rest into Defense/Special Defense.

MAL has been a lot better in the past month or so, mine is here if you fancy taking a look.

Still to watch ef - a tale of melodies, Vampire Bund, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, Negima and the second season of Natsu actually. I have most oif that on my HD ready to go though.

Nice! I never bothered to trick out my list in any way, but then again I'm not an active member of that community so I have no one to impress :p

Of those I've seen Soredemo (which I absolutely loved) and the second season of Natsu. I'm also really behind on Maria Holic and Denpa Onna this season so I should probably get on those.

I'd probably do more competitive battling if I knew how to RNG. My almost perfect Accelgor was bred by luck. I'll have to learn sometime...

PC is definitely known for its ROM Hacking section. There are literally TONS of LPs and etc out there for hacks posted here, and we're technically the largest Pokemon forum iirc and the only big one with an Emulation board so anyone and everyone who's interested in that topic ends up here somehow.

CM is an interesting set for Cofag but it's not exactly... good. Doesn't hit hard enough or break any common 'mons, in my honest opinion. Same with Mandibuzz. Just because something gets Nasty Plot doesn't mean it can make effective use of it. :<

Lack of activity at all. Working on that, though! :)

I can't RNG at all, nor do I have Wi-Fi, so I use Pokemon Online [battle simulator] for all my competitive battling needs.

lol I sound like I'm advertising it :x

You don't need to have any knowledge of breeding, or RNG abuse to learn competitive battling. Most of the poeple in S+M don't even have access to wifi iirc, and do all their battling on Pokemon Online. Just use that for now, and learn RNG abuse slowly or something if you're keen on it. :3

Same @ Karpman; I don't have wifi and I don't really know much about breeding at all save the basics. I need to stop typing tl;drs for this so I don't have people posting other stuff before I do. >:(

I hear it's very hard to learn/teach. I imagine it being 10 time harder then when I taught my friend how to ev train.

Anyway at least I smiled through my whole job interview yesterday. Don't worry I didn't smile like this:

More like something that needs to be learned through experience more than anything. You can be guided, but it's one of those things that it's best if you figure it out through actually trying stuff out, not being lectured. Trust me, my tutorships of old have failed because I tried to lecture everything. ;o;

Where did you apply, vapvap? Orrrr at least what's the job description? XD

I applied at a dept store (no not at Celadon City) for a cashier job.

I think I'll have to find a guide online for it.

Okay, so on a somewhat related note to competitive battling, I was checking IVs of my Pokemon for lulz, and I found one of my smeargle had some pretty decent ones. :D

Smearbad
Whatever other crap
x/31/31/31/x/30
Air Slash, Roost, Charm

Good IVs as well. :3 Egg Moves for an Emolga as well btw.

Wow, the good think is that the Emolga will have good IVs too.

Oh okay. As long as you're not working in food service you're probably set. :)

Guide? Mmm well it's... still not that easy to just put in a guide. You can get the basics, but you can't be good until you get out there and go do it for a while. Then again, doesn't that apply to everything?
