Woah. But seeing as I only have $88 dollars I might just go for a 700 GB or 1 TB. Isn't there about 1024 GB's in a TB?

If you're at all capable of making your purchases online, my newest external hard drive was a 2TB that I got from Newegg.com for $90. I recommend the Iomega Prestige model and own three in varying sizes, however Seagate is another good brand. Western Digital is popular, but I find them to be too fragile for my tastes.

There are 1024GBs in a TB, however all external memory companies round this down in a shady practice made possible due to a technicality. My 2TB hard drive shipped with around 1.8TB of free memory on it.

That is exactly the kind that I have, never failed me yet. ...though seeing it so cheap...I might some shopping in the fall.

Which kind of computer/laptop do you own? I've heard some could only hook up to Windows and others only Macs. :/

Gateway laptop and various desktops that I've tried out at school, never had any issues.

I hate Western Digitals. The first external I ever had was a 100GB WD that died on me so fast, I'm pretty much done with them. I might look into an Iomega next time I pick up an external if they're as good as you say they are.

My parents don't let me buy anything from online sadly ;; (I'm only 16 mind you)

Ah, okay, then I'll try buying that one. Ever tried it on a Mac?

Ah, have not. D: Never really looked into that issue, though, sooo you might want to do some research if it's uber important that you connect to a Mac.

Seeing as I might get a Macbook it is D:

You bought yours from Bestbuy right?

I got on the computer with the intention of watching naruto... I've been on for almost an hour...

I'm so glad my friend made me watch Naruto because I love it.

I AM SO GRATEFUL TO MY PAIR!

I have a 250GB WD from 2007 that miraculously still works, but the plastic casing is so thin and it makes such scary noises when it's on that I always fear that it's going to snap in half if I try to pick it up. Iomega's not a big brand, but all three of my Iomega drives still work perfectly, have on/off switches, and have really durable steel casings. I'll never buy another brand.

Your age in your profile says 19 so I assumed you had the ability to buy stuff yourself :p

I must have been incredibly privileged because I had free reign with my mom's credit card online since I was 11. I remember bidding on Star Wars action figures on ebay right after Episode I came out, which I believe was 1999 :p

It does XD

Yes you were. I don't think I know any 11 year olds who were allowed to do that :x

I have wanted one of those. I have some USB sticks and some SD cards, but seeing as my PC's hard disk is so small (300 GB split into 2 partitions, one 288 GB and a recovery 12 GB one) that I NEED a terabyte drive. I might look into a good one. I was disappointed though, seeing as newer computers could have 2TB right out of the box. ._.
USB sticks are a bit too expensive for how much memory they hold. I've seen a 2 GB USB go for $15 dollars, when you can buy a 350 GB ex. drive for around $50. :x

Not to mention that a 350GB external hard drive for $50 is also somewhat of a ripoff considering that you can get about five times that space for twice the price today. It's really best to wait to buy one until you have the money for a high capacity (2TB, I'd recommend) drive because you get WAY more memory for your money that way.

I'm pretty sure I have enough money to buy a 2TB one, but it's just explaining to my dad why I need that much. He's always the one to tell me to buy a smaller capacity even if it isn't a good deal. :/

Now that I'm downloading some more shows, I'm pretty sure I'd need that much space XD

Once I start downloading more anime I'll probably get a external.

Oh and just a question, how long does it usually take for you guys to download a 208 MB file off a file hosting site such as MU? It takes me about 15-20 minutes, but I just want to make sure my internet connection isn't slow or anything :x

It might be less than ten minutes for me, but then again, everyone's internet connection is different and Megaupload probably throttles free users' download speed during heavy periods of traffic.

Urrrgh. I'm going to be going to the bathroom during this good Naruto episode because I'm drinking a large soda.

I picked up a 100GB USB stick once and it was pretty awesome...while it worked. Thing died on me within three months of purchasing the darn thing. >_O

Also, just got back from an epic play session with all my cats, I love having pets.

A great deal of this depends on the time, but the average is about 5-15 minutes for me. If I download late at night or early in the morning, I can typically grab that much in a minute.

I can download a 250MB file in roughly 10-12 minutes. Give or take my picky ISP.

Woah, must be because of my wireless internet connection x.x

Well, as long as it doesn't take me more than 30 min. per 200 MB I should be fine XD

How much did that cost? I remember looking at a 64GB memory stick somewhere online in the early 00s and it was, like, $5000 or something, hahah. I'm sure they still cost a good deal but aren't astronomical.

Knock on wood, I haven't had catastrophic failure of any memory device since the days when I carried floppy discs around in a bag that I didn't know had a magnet in it for months. I was wondering why all of my discs kept corrupting.

When you say epic play session, I imagine you having toys taped all over your arms and legs and 15 or 20 cats trying to play with you at once. My cats are all knocked out from the heat and I'm too hot to play right now anyway -_-
