Ok,

Star Driver - Imagine your classic good v evil mecha shonen series. Now add a lot of fabulous, an awesome soundtrack and basically loads of other fun things. Bit of romance, couple of wtf moments, decent back stories and of course more fabulous, you have a very fun series indeed. I'm actually planning on rewatching this soon even though it only finished a couple of months ago.

TTGL- Another character driven mecha show with an awesome ost, epic moments and of course shonen romance elements. On the whole TTGL is a much better series but i massively enjoyed both.

Thanks! I already downloaded Star Driver, but I haven't begun watching it, and now I'll download TTGL right after I get an external hard drive next week since I only have about 58 GB left on my comp. ._.

Good, I think you'll like Star Driver. I know you weren't the biggest mecha fan last year but it's not as heavy as it is in Geass so it should be ok, same with TTGL actually.

Try looking up Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae we Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, or just Ano Hana if that's too long for you. The only reason why that name is even vaguely familiar to me is because Sankaku Complex posted several galleries relating to it late last month.

Ohh, now that rings a bell! I remember seeing a picture of it, it's one of the ones that peaked my interest. I wanted to watch it, but I'm waiting until all the episodes are done airing.
 
Probably the best thing to do with that series, some shows I don't mind waiting for but I'd love to marathon that.

Anyway time to get some airing shows out of the way before starting...

Is it that good? lol

I don't know if it's the files fault, but I downloaded Code Geass Bluray and it won't go for more than 5 min. before starting up again, other files are fine, just not the CG series I downloaded :/
 
The thing is it's not an amazing series, it's just one that I really missed once it stopped airing. Not sure if you've seen them but it's the same sort of feeling I got after finishing Hayate no Gotoku! and Infinite Stratos.

That certainly sounds like a VLC problem to me, i couldn't fix VLC so i downloaded MPC...but you had issues with that so i dunno. Ask others for opinions me things.

Is Infinite Stratos any good? I've wanted to see that for a while, but everyone I asked, hadn't seen it so I'm hesitate to watch.

I asked a question in the C&T section and Erica said KMPlayer so I downloaded that and it works perfectly :D
 
Ah good.

And, Infinite Stratos is the most generic harem series ever but it was entertaining. The girls representing the UK and Germany were amusing.

I've heard nothing but bad things about that series. Personally, I also believe that its premise (a revolutionary advance in warfighting technology skews the balance of power significantly) was wasted.

In the hands of a capable writer, Infinite Stratos could have been engaging enough that even a self-righteous reactionary with a stick up his arse about anything new (like me!) would want to watch it. Instead, you people who watched it got generic harem crap instead.
 
Yes the synopsis did oversell the series, I basically watched it because it was levelling Madoka in terms of hype on /a/. If I remember I rated it a 6 basically for it's technical merits, it's all been done before though. Regarding what you said about..could it have been better if a better writer took the concept...I believe the novels have a plot whereas the series was cut down to the generic harem, I mean what sells best atm?

How's Madoka going for you Jack? Better or worse than expected.

From what I've read, the original light novels do indeed have something resembling an actual plot, though harem elements still feature prominently nonetheless. Still, I would have preferred if someone like Kenji Kamiyama or Tom Clancy had gotten their hands on the concept, but whatever.

As for Madoka Magica, it's living up to my (high) expectations so far. I'm currently stuck halfway through, however.
 
I don't think any decade is best really, all of them have had their good and bad series. Just because there's been a lot of moe moe kyun recently doesn't mean there isn't good stuff about. The last couple of years have been pretty bad though, my last 9 or 10/10 series was 2009.
