Other releases: Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Flight Unlimited. Flight Unlimited being the first flight SIM to use dynamic physics coding.
Console releases: The GBC "Play It Loud" series was released in 1995 which started the different colored units trend among hand held systems developed by Nintendo.
The Sega Saturn hit American shores in May of 1995, as well as the PS1 in September, and the cease of NES manufacturing and distribution within the United States.

Least we forget, the very first E3 event was held in LA, California in May of 1995. Dang that was a good year. O___o"

In 1996, Bandai's Tamagotchi was released and sold world wide. 44 Tamagotchi versions have been released between 1996 and 2009, selling over 70 million.

The Nintendo 64 rightly dubbed for its being the first 64-bit home console was released on September 29, 1996 in North America. Super Mario 64 was released as the first game for the Nintendo 64.

On March 4, 1996 Capcom released its widely acclaimed "Resident Evil" for the PS1 in both Japan and North America, giving birth to the still expanding video genre of "survival horror".

Sony releases Crash Bandicoot on September 3 for the PS1 and soon after became the mascot of the PS1.
