Isn't the Esperonto movement to try to make all of Europe learn it as a secondary language so there wouldn't be any more language barriers cutting them off?

Yes, however it's actually all of Eurasia. It's very popular in Europe and Asia. In fact, a lot of Asian schools offer Esperanto. Also, China was actually debating (back in the 1920's) on changing the official language to Esperanto. Pretty neat.

Most people think that the goal of the language is to replace all languages in general, which is not true. The goal is to become a universal second language so other cultures can easily speak to each other.
