Definitely. And yeah, I didn't realize how much I typed until I hit post. XD
Lol....You and your love of crazy new ideas. I think in the actual thread you started that got moved to Q&F, one of your posts took up my whole browser XD

Ohman.Lol....You and your love of crazy new ideas. I think in the actual thread you started that got moved to Q&F, one of your posts took up my whole browser XD
We used IP addresses to make sure the votes were unique. We didn't allow people using the same computer to both vote (ie, one vote per "household" if need be). IPs are only available to mods and it's bad to give 'em out so... XD;Second, the whole tallying up the votes, I know Erica doesn't wanna do it. XD So why is it that regular members couldn't be trusted counting the votes? I mean, we're all very much trusted when we request to host MotM and it's not like you've seen any swayed votes during those contests (BB doesn't crush me 2,000 to 3 in Favorite Male, lolz.) So my best idea would be first, who on the staff would be willing to tally and second, that/those staff members could pick a council of trusted regular members who'd be interested in counting. I for one probably wouldn't run, but I'd love to count up the votes and help announce the winner.
Thinking about it, annually might make more sense. :[ A lot of time was taken up for "campaigning" and that would get annoying really fast if it were a semi-annual thing. And I really love Lightning's semi-annual idea. It'd give the winner enough time to say "yay, I'm PC President! :3" and bask in it until July where a superspecialawesometime would come back, everyone would get excited, and elections would resume.
Staff were never allowed to run and they wouldn't be again. :BI also understand that staff are members too, yet I believe it was brought up in the discussion thread about this that just to be fair, staff wouldn't be allowed to run (given they're already well known commodities with a permanent position.) Of course I wouldn't mind if everyone was allowed to run, as long as we had it!
Last time(s), I'm pretty sure you had to have at least 50 posts to vote and your join date had to be 3 months back or something to be sure the account wasn't just created and kept up with for the sake of rigging votes. And again, to stop n00bs from voting, you have certain guidelines for voters, maybe an Approval to Vote system could be set up where staff screens the eligible voters (as well as whose eligible to run for President, obviously there'd be a few pre-qualifications.)
I know, I love discussing stuff even if it never goes anywhere. So much fun. 8D;..Sorry I just really love new ideas and functions. XD I'm not really this gun-ho about it, it's just a really unique and fun concept that would be easy to implement if managed correctly.
and to those who are all emo and say 'ugh..it's just a popularity contest/it'll ruin the community..' what kind of an attitude is that? :P
That's good, otherwise it'd be you or BeachBoy who would get it every time XDStaff were never allowed to run and they wouldn't be again. :B

It sounded like an idea a cool cat would come up with, but after seeing the protocol spelled out by Lightning I can understand why some people are reluctant to take part in it. Meh, it sounds cool. It'd be great if it did happen, but if it doesn't, are any of us going to lose our lives over it?

PC Elections, huh?
The first one was fun-fun. I remember it making this place much more lively.
Coral, obviously. Second best for the win! \o\But... what colour would you even choose? #ff9900 is already the best one. :(
But seriously yeah, I can't see how it wouldn't be fun. And again, I'd definitely help count votes. XDD
