Jack, you're such a Grammar Nazi. :[

I've come to believe that those were the only series out there. Clearly I'm ignorant in the Gundam series. :[

-----

Death Note has been my favorite series for a long time standing. I recently rewatched the anime series for a... sixth time, I believe, and I still can't get over the fact that even though I hated L, Near and Mello somehow were able to surpass him and solve the case of Kira. I never liked Mello, but Near I could stand. I always thought he was a... not well developed character since I think Mello played more of a role in the series,...

Anyway,.. yeah. :X
I severely resent being called a Nazi of any sort. Besides, technically, I'm only correcting your spelling, like what I just did with Mello's name; your actual grammar is just fine.

Regarding Mello's lack of character development, you could blame the altered pacing after L's death for that. Instead of taking twenty-five episodes to fully flesh out both Mello and Near, they crammed everything into twelve episodes and focused largely on Near despite his relatively low activity; while Mello was off with his mafia buddies fighting against Kira, Near was just sitting in the SPK headquarters stacking sugar cubes and playing with toys.

I cant' decide whether to get Platinum or not.. I'm like 50/50 on whether to get it.
Okay Patchisou Yuthoru

You seriously need to stick to the subject at hand. We're talking about anime, not a video game. :/

I've only really enjoyed Death Note, when I've been older (if we aren't counting the Dragon Ball series). The rest have all been decent or just good, but Death Note kept me coming back every week and always had me saying, "Wow" after an episode at the crazy twists and just shocks of it all.

I agree that Death Note ended way too quickly and abruptly, but in the direction it was going, it was inevitable.. Unfortunate, really.

I'm mad at the fact that Misa didn't have a role in the end of the anime (well, near the end). She was just this hooker-like wife of someone who I've grown to think was the greatest anime character I've come across until I watched the Melancholy.

But, fault for that is hard to place.

What I saw of Death Note. *I only got up to where L died*
It was a awesome anime and I could tell it was going to end fast. I could when L died. He died to early in my opinion.

Oh, geez. D: I forgot about the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. That's my second favorite anime. XD; I watched all of the episodes in one night, I think. My friend told me to watch it and I never regretted it.

She did play quite an important role, but her climax was when Light had to get that guy from the big corporation off his back. After that it was downhill for her.

I've always thought Death Note really lost its spark around the time Misa was introduced. It was still a fun read after that, but once the big even surrounding L happened, I really lost interest in it. I've always hated the characters of Mello and Near, and found the series just becoming less and less engaging with every new chapter that came out...but I still read it since I had already invested a bit of time in it.

The Melencholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was one of the first anime series I watched online. It was pretty awesome. (now I'm watching those 5 minute parodies on YouTube)

Other then that, Code Geass was also pretty awesome, considering that I was not entirely into mecha. I've never watched Gurren Laggen though. :<

Slow iPhone typing got me offtopic.

In death note, L was my number one character in the franchise. Things slowed down when it got to Mellow and Near. I enjoyed no less.

L died JUST when I started to like him. Which was unfortunate for me. I knew L was going to die all along as I've had friends who saw Death Note prior to me starting the anime. I was always excited to see that happen, but when it finally did, it was really upsetting to see occur.

I agree. Death Note is one of the few series where I can't just pick one of the episodes as my favorite.

And uh, being one of those who watched Fullmetal Alchemist seriously late, I can say I liked that one too - but the ending really sucked.

I've only ever seen the one movie from FMA, and episodes on [adult swim] here and there, but the movie was pretty cool. XD;

If you live in the United States, Sci-fi Channel is currently reairing Gurren Lagann; you can catch it there if you want.

I know! I really hoped he would live longer but no... OH! I also remember the introduction to Near. I was kind of mad because he reminded me of a L. But he was just a minature copy of him. :/

Fullmetal Alchemist was an anime I rarely watched. I liked the plot and all, but it just didn't catch my interest.

The movie was technically the last episode. I thought it was way too quick - that's only because they had to condense it to fit the time restraints though.

Near was not a 'miniature copy of L'. The only way he became as good as L in investigation was with the help of Mello. If they weren't working together in some way, Near wouldn't have became the successor to L. Which some still argue is false, which goes to prove the fact that he wasn't a miniature copy.

Actually I'm going to dissent and say that L's death was one of my more favored parts of the series.

What time restraints? :O It was made as a movie exactly because they wanted to have a longer way to end the series.

It was pretty good though. We're talking about the Conqueror of Shambala or whatever, right? XD

And in Death Note, I was rooting for Light up until after L's death in which he started to become a real ass. After that, I wanted him to fail. But then I started rooting for him again after...I think after he began his time against Near or whatever. I was really disappointed his final scheme didn't work. XD

Yeah. If you followed the plot, it REALLY rushed things by killing off some key characters in what I think were anticlimactic ways (that is, in comparison to the other deaths in the series?)

And the final battle was like what? A minute long?
