With the humidity, Florida probably feels hotter, but I'd assume the ocean would cool down the state a fair bit. It's basically a big peninsula right? :B

As much as I complain about my weather, I'd still rather live up here in the cold than be way too hot. XD;

That it is. We went one time for vacation and it sucked, sorry to say. We got one good day and the rest was humidity and rain filled.

On a side note, Erica can you change my name please! The name change thread is backed up to the stone age and I want to be here to register my current name just in case.

So how come most of you say degrees, not the specific measurement?
It's usually around 45 in the summer
Because that could be either C or F and remain viable.

What's with all the beach haters! BeachBoy would not be happy if he were here to witness this topic. XD
BeachBoy is female according to Loki.

Lakes are just a fun though. Plus you don't have to worry about a shark eating you... Always a positive!
You don't really have to worry about that anyway unless you're a surfer or have open wounds. Sharks generally actively avoid humans. A person on a surfboard paddling out to the waves resembles a turtle, the shark will (I think) leave if it realises it's attacking a human.

I know. They believe you to be a sea otter or something else other than what you are. But, there have been incidences were what you stated has not be the reason for the attack.

That would be a good explanation.
And yea, the humidity has made it feel way past it's record 109oF

*sweat drop*

The hottest place I've been was Vegas. When I went there were highs of around 100F/40C. Oh man I could not stay outside long at all. Walking between hotels was brutal, but walking into them? And your hit with beautiful air conditioning? XDD Ah, it was wonderful.

Aside from Vegas... I'm okay with hot weather provided it isn't humid.

I like going to the beach. It's relaxing. Sit back, take a nap, read a book, play in the sand, go for a swim, take in the view.

When my family "goes to the beach" for a week, we're not really at the beach for a week. We stay at a ski resort about half an hour away and only spend maybe half our time there (less if raining) in the sand. Other times we're at water parks, batting cages, go-karting, mini-golf, forest walks, pool, etc. It would be boring if you spent several days in a row on the beach. I haven't done that, so I've never been bored there. ;p

When we went to the south of France, maybe three days were spent on the beach? And those weren't full days. Just a few hours. Rest of the time we're checking out the town and visiting other near by towns.

It's just a relaxing atmosphere.

Lmao I hadn't even noticed that post. 8|

@Triffy: Wait, really? XD; When I was a kid I'd be at the beach EVERY DAY when we lived in BC and in the summers in NS, we'd take a week's vacation up north to a beach and stay in a cottage like... RIGHT on the sand. So you walk out about two metres from the house and suddenly you're right there. It was so awesome and it was never that boring. (It was more interesting than virtually everything else in the town, anyway. XD)

The ski resort thing is recent for us.

There were cottages we would rent right on the beach, but those have all been sold off. They were actual house, and the people who own now aren't putting them up for rent (or raised the price like woah). Most of the stuff left are one room shacks. So, we head to the ski resort.

But, even where we were on the beach. We would spend time there everyday. Like, have lunch on the beach. Go for a dip in the water. Whatever. But our entire day wasn't spent there. We still did all the other activities I mentioned.

I did like being right on the beach. Great view. Nice place to go for a walk around sunset. Whatever else. Relaxing and fun. But we would still mix it up a bit.

My mom could spend a week just on the beach. I enjoy it, but if we don't mix it up a bit then I long for the computer or my DS.

Oh. We stayed in a two or three-room shack, I forget which. XD And this was back before I had a DS so... I don't know, I must have had SOMETHING to do because I distinctly remember not having TV and I look back on those trips quite fondly so... huh. Guess the beach must've been damn good.

I didn't tan. XD; I'd burn every time.
Ha. Story of my life. I have pale skin, so it's impossible for me to get a tan. And I have light blonde hair too, so if I got a spray tan it'd just look unnatural. xD;

I couldn't just go to the beach everyday. That'd be so boring. Especially since I've never been to a really popular beach, so I don't socialize with other people besides my family there.

I think we must've spent more time on the beach back then. Partly because...we actually were on the beach. We didn't have a pool to use instead when the day was sorta gloomy. And our beach trips used to be two weeks, now they're one week or four days. I'm sure I loved it as a little kid. But now? Walking through paths in a small forest trail, looking at small waterfalls, go-karting, etc is pretty fun too.

And I still love it now. Very peaceful and beautiful. Like, Juan-les-Pins was by far my favourite part of France. And really one of my favourite places ever. It was beautiful and amazing. Heaven on earth.

And, my nose and my shoulders get sun burnt. Rest of me is good.

My uncle has a big cottage on the beach. We're invited up there sometimes. We had Thanksgiving there once. It was nice.

I don't normally burn anywhere but arms/shoulders/face but that's only because I raaaarely go outside in anything but pants, haha. My legs are so white they'd blind people if I wore shorts outside in sunlight so I do the world a favour. :(
