I'd really like to learn a second language, doesn't really matter what it is. Just so I can say I'm bilingual =P

I'm learning French & German at school & hoping to become good at french as I like it :D

I learnt French in school and while I'm not good enough to say I'm bilingual, I certainly get by in it. I know some Japanese since I took 3 years in high school too but not enough to do anything useful with it.

It's the most widespread human-engineered language in the world. For a while it was taught in schools because people thought it would become the next universal language, surpassing English. It's apparently made to be easy to learn and pick up and it just seems so interesting. I really want to look into it.
Esperanto has quite a way to go before it can surpass even Italian or Vietnamese, much less English. There are estimated to be only anywhere from 100 thousand to 2 million fluent speakers of Esperanto currently; compare with the aforementioned Italian (62 million fluent speakers overall), Vietnamese (68 million fluent speakers overall), and English (roughly 340-500 million native speakers, depending on what statistics you look at).

Mandarin is another language on my list to learn. x_x I think I'd only be successful in it if I took a class but at the same time, it seems REALLY hard to learn so I don't want to be graded for it. XD;

You missed my point but thank you for the statistics I skimmed. :]

Chinese has always been put down as an extremely hard language to learn. I don't think I'll ever even attempt to learn it ;)

I am studying Russian and Spanish now. I only know English. Haha. I know a site which has lessons (for free) for multiple languages. It's basically a free online version of the Rosetta Stone program. It has:

Japanese, Spanish, French, Russian, Mandarin, Hindustani, German, and more. I would post a link but I don't know if that would be considered advertising. It isn't a forum so I don't know. @-@

I'm just learning the Hawaiian language and I must say it's the hardest language to learn because it includes only a few consonant letters like around two or three.

I doubt the Hawaiian language is the hardest in the world. I've actually read that Mandarin Chinese is the hardest to learn in writing, reading, and talking. If you want, I could find the link for you.

I'm currently learning Spanish, but I would love to learn French.

You cant say it's the hardest unless you tried to learn the rest. But it does seem difficult. Not as difficult as Mandarin now.

I am thinking about dropping Russian in school to take Mandarin. I hate Mandarin, with passion. But it will be the new language of business in a few years. It will be so helpful to get a job in what I want if I knew Mandarin.

I need to learn Japanese, so I don't have to worry about finding dubs for anime. XD;

Unfortunately they don't teach that in school. ;;

OR I COULD BUY THAT THING THAT MICHAEL PHELPS USES.

OR YOU COULD USE THE FREE ONLINE THING THAT IS EXACTLY LIKE IT I MENTIONED EARLIAR

You know, just a suggestion.

I wasn't screaming or mad. I just wanted to have caps on. X3

Why don't you pick up "My Japanese Coach" for the DS? That's how I learned Hiragana.. and I'm in the process of learning Katakana now~

あなたわげんきですか?

:3~
That would be good for writing and reading. My thing teaches vocab. :3

It has vocab, too! Verb tenses and stuff.. but.. I have trouble memorizing the Kana.. and if I don't do it.. all the later, more important lessons/ questions will be all in Japanese characters so it's gonna be hard for me..

So right now I'm stuck at the Kana .__.
